Restrict yourself to certain weapons, remove vital aspects of the core gameplay, install a mod to take a hands off approach to wasteland destruction. But what if you wanted something more… permanent? Can You Beat Fallout New Vegas With Only 1 Life? (in text form)
This challenge probably works exactly the way you thought it would, if I die at any point in the playthrough, I start the entire game over. Simple as that. But if you’ve seen my videos, you know I’m a fan of the cheese technique. I usually rely heavily on the quick save feature to save scum my way through the game, which is why I decided that I would only reload a save if the game crashed.
My SPECIAL stats were fairly standard, I drained Charisma, put points into Endurance, Intelligence, and Luck, then spread out the rest to have a decent selection of perks to choose from, and picked Barter, Guns, and Medicine as my Tag skills. If you wanted to play it safe, you’d go for Speech to avoid confrontation, but relying on Speech all the time is boring. What’s the point of doing a perma-death run if you change your mind and talk your way out of a fight. Barter was only to be able to afford supplies early on. My traits were Skilled to provide a small boost to all skills and Fast Shot because why not. It’s the opposite of Trigger Discipline, which is what I usually take.
After looting Pink Mouth’s house for all his toys, I went outside, made a failsafe YOLO save, sold what I didn’t need to Chet, bought myself a Silenced Weaponry, and entered the saloon looking for a good time. And by god did I find it. With my only Holy Point round, I gently sent this Settler to the afterlife, draped his body over the toilet as an homage to me during movie night in the Mitten Squad Discord server, borrowed this cup’s handgun, blew apart their cousins outside in the firefight of the century, and got to work haggling with the barkeep. You might be asking yourself why I’m buying food, well that’s because I’m also playing on Hardcore Mode. But I’m not, like, what’s the word, good at video games, so I’m only playing on Normal instead of Very Hard.

No deaths, no reloading a save, and more importantly the game didn't crash, this is an absolute win.

Well for all we know, Paul fails every single challenge and edits the videos to look like he didn't. To actually prove that you beat a challenge then you can't edit your gameplay footage. Actually completing the challenge is not really the point of these challenge lets plays on this channel anyways.

to be fair, headshot wounds are pretty survivable if the bullet doesn't tumble and it's a small caliber like 9mm.

@@TechpriestNumber When talking about handgun calibers it's not usually tumbling that you have to worry about, it's the fragmentation. 9mm, especially 9mm holopoints, are designed to shatter and disperse energy throughout the entire area effected. So, while it is possible to survive a 9mm to the head, it's much less likely than something like a .22
@@agentghost1661 Yeah, but it's a 9mm that the Courier gets shot with. And there have been MANY people survive gunshots to the head. If the angle is off just in the slightest then it can easily skid around the skull; and honestly, even if it does penetrate the skull and go through the brain it still doesn't make it lethal, as there have been cases of people getting steel beams and such (Look up Phineas Gage) shot straight through their brain and they survive. They may act a bit different afterwards, but they're by all means 'normal'. Phineas Gage for instance was completely normal, except for the fact that he was prone to outbursts of anger, something he never did before.

I did all the dlc with this, But I didn’t count glitch deaths such as. falling through the map, unkillable enemies, and one time there was a
unkillable alpha male death claw. stuck in a wall so it couldn’t kill me, I also tried to slide down a cliff but there was a invisible wall where I was fallin so it pushed me outward, and I died in Zion didn’t count it though. even though it wasn’t really a glitch couldn’t bring myself to lose 30 hours for me to die in Zion from a invisible wall, after I beat all the dlc I just went to dead wind cavern and a death claw mother sneaked up behind me and critted me,
I died at a fairly high level I cleared death claw promtoory and quarry but died at dead wind had more than 60k caps I died happy like a old man dying from old age

Dead is dead runs are great fun, makes things so much more exciting. I dont know how many such runs ive done in Fallout 4. Sucks losing a 60h charachter but its worth it.
@@antongrahn1499 try doing that in dark souls sometime! By the time you beat it your balls will have dropped. Not because it forces your testosterone levels to go higher, but because if your balls hadn't dropped it'll take enough time for them to have dropped before you finish the run.

I play most Bethesda games as 1 life per run. I try to RP them so hard that if I die, it fucks with my immersion to the point where I need to create a new character. Sometimes it's heartbreaking, but it can also be legendary.

That's why this game ceases to amaze me. The one time you needed it not to crash and not to mess up on you the game came thru. Almost died in the end but i wouldnt count to bug against you. It wouldn't have been your fault if you died but the fact you pulled through is why I love you Mitten.

The solution to the "can't start new game bug"
Go to your Fallout.ini and FalloutPref.ini (Which is found under C:\Users\\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV) and change SCharGenQuest= to SCharGenQuest=00102037 in both files. This happened to me once and this was how I fixed it.

You can shoot them before they finish the sentence...but it would be hard to stay sided with them after that.

What was it
Boximo Only one life, no saving, no healing including passive healing or forced heals, though extra health through level ups is fine. You basically have to beat the game with one health bar.
@@boxim07 A permadeath run with no healing allowed, basically restricting you to a single life bar with the only way of receiving more health being max HP increases from level ups.

The most shocking part of this is Fallout NV not crashing.
Yeah, even vanilla new Vegas crashes all of the time. It crashes the most out of any Bethesda RPG.
He uses the secret MittenMod. Auto configures everything and patches the game so that crashes only occur during normal play throughs. Or if he doesn't smudge his PC to rid it of Bugthesda spirits first.
Seriously, that is the most impressive accomplishment of this video by far.
