Will Britain ever have there own tech tree with the commonwealth? If not please get them to change it back from u.s.a to Allies as it was called before the merge as it's insulting to have Britain under America like we're some little country that helped America in ww2, so if they won't do a tech tree change it back to Allies then it makes sense again with both being in the same tech tree, thanks
This game is one of the most unique ww2 games on the market. But its uniqueness is constantly overshadowed by horrible ai, uneven matches, and bad map/objective design.
Man early enlisted was so dope with the lack of late war content and ability to choose your preferred campaign but now it feels like a cod game with all the assault rifles and stuff
@@nakulaman same game at low BR. MG34s and SMGs with no recoil. Hitting people across the map with MP40s no problem. Frankly, the gunplay in this game is CoD-like. It's arcadey and unrealistic for a game that prides itself on immersion.
Not sure why you think that hitting players at distance with an MP40 is unrealistic? 9mm is an effective round for most distances in Enlisted, and there is very little recoil.
15:13 I've noticed a massive (yet subtle) shift in the enlisted map design. It seems like the developers are focusing less on quantity and more on quality. Back in the days of the campaign system, a new campaign would regularly come with 2-4 new maps. But since 2024, we've only gotten 1 map per large update: Rzhev, Bastogne, and Burma. However, these are all incredibly high quality maps, both in their visual design and gameplay experience.
I think they are still making new maps at the same pace as they did before and they have just started listening to the comunity more, nd spreading the updates out a bit more cause before they realesed 1 campaigh every 6 moths to a year or something, and now they do a update with a new map and new weapons ever month or 2.
I hate Burma tbh, to me its worst than the Pacific maps, half the map is filled with weak but vision obscuring cover while the other half is hodge podge of strong cover with little open field for tank combat
@@AHappyCubNot sure what you want? Its an urban map, tanks are going to struggle. It is definitely their best urban map, gameplay wise, in my opinion.
I am a new player. I am discouraged by uneven games where another team just stomps you out in 5 minutes. No fun, no experience and just frustration. I am in top 2 players on my side in 90% of the games. However, i am the only one who builds rallies, uses APCs and plays the objectives. To note, this is my experience with Allies. Axis feel way better (70% won rate after 150 games)
Steamrolling games are the worst especially when im on the winning team, atleast if im on the losing side id probably get a decent amount of kills, but could barely break 2 on winning side because the enemy just kept breaking. A close, down to the wire games are the best regardless who won
ah man, I finished my allies quick 3 months ago, many first places. over 100/match but you know, noobs will be noobs. Lower tiers have less experienced players. People who play coordinated also DO THE OBJECTIVE haha. So... It's skill issue. Maybe not yours, but it is.
What you mean especialy in earlier brs western allies are way better with better tanks and planes than japan and a lot of early germany (there its way more even but i still would say the lee is just better than like all panzer 3 and 4 untill you get to f2 which by that point they have Shermans) while being the same more or less in rifles and lmgs
10:54 - And there is the thing that invalidates the rest of the video after that point. Never trust Gaijin until they are FORCED to act through active pressure from the community like it happened in War Thunder
This game is beyond wank. Horrible AI Horrible movement Nonexistent immersion bcs of horrible AI Overpowered Vehicles BR system making every match a miserable unbalanced mess Basic gameplay elements like anti-tank tools being locked behind a painful grind... This game doesn't feel like actual battlefield, it's just who can mow down more lobotomized AI soldiers that ranomly run out of cover even tho u told them to stand there.
I used to play Enlisted when the Battle of Stalingrad came out. I played it for two months and then stopped. When I returned, I realized that I couldn't choose my own campaign due to the merge update. I was upset, but I still decided to give it a shot. However, I stopped playing shortly after. Now that Enlisted is adding the option to choose the campaign again, I’m kind of hyped up, and I actually have an interest in playing this game again.
I hated the campaign system to be honest, but I don't like the fact that I can't chose what faction I'll be going against, I hate playing as Germans against Russians simply because I don't like the maps ide rather just que against allies
I feel that, I felt like I had set ups and each campaign had it own different things. I partially played to run away from war thunder’s play style. To me it felt like there’s was a distinct difference between the two which disappeared after the merger. Of corse this is my personal opinion
I loved the campaigns. I could play as US Marines on Island-Hopping Campaigns, or Russian Conscripts defending Mosciw, or pushing into Berlin. But then they changed everything, and that extra dimension of immersion was just lost, and it just became COD+War Thunder.
I am one of the people who left the game, and it’s because of the merge update,I felt like everything that made the game interesting to me was taken away,I liked getting to chose what I fight and who I fight, not get sent to Normandy every single time.
Of all the things discussed, the AI was the least considered. For me, it is by far the most needed alteration with the game. Even the new Updated Plans have no mention of AI improvement. My squads are set to regular stance/aggressive posture, and they stand there and are killed by 1 guy with a bolt rifle. In about 4100 battles it's happened to me 50% of the time. Sometimes more than once per map. Or I get killed and then spawn into my dying squad mates as I watch the bolt rifle shooter take them down, one after the other. Aggressive posture is supposed to actively engage all enemy sighted, and they are standing there looking at the guy 5 feet away, and they don't move, don't shoot at the enemy...they just wait their turn to die. What crap. That is, imo, the most needed item by far. Thanks for the work, Major.
Biggest problem is that too aggressive and the bots start actually hitting through bushes and covers where players can't see. Now they randomly shoot seemingly nothing, which makes hiding at a distance partially doable as they miss their shots.
You can carry teams solo depending on the other team. Build rallies, put your apcs in good spots. Get a AT guy in every squad you have. A good tank and at least one good plane and you can do it.
@ I agree with you but I have tried those things many times, but often it’s not enough. A good third of my teammates have maybe 9 to 15 total kills and 4 deaths at the end of the game. Maybe this is only a thing in lower tiers. (My win percentage is about 20% I think) I played mostly over the summer and tried it again a few days ago but uninstalled some time later. Maybe I’ll reinstall the game again and see enjoyment. Have a good day 😀
Long time player since closed beta, loved the game and was still playing after the merge update but the disregard and constant push of unhistorical decisions and additions such as prototype 1 time weapons and vehicles made me drop it completely. I will be the first to admit that the games was never historically accurate but it was much much closer and was made in this way with the original campaign system usually only adding unhistorical vehicles or weapons for balance reasons and this is a fun historically based game without tiger 2 and is 2 fighting in Moscow etc... the game is just too far gone now for me to enjoy
I think that the merge and the unhistorical options were a fun addition to improve gameplay, but as someone who is dedicated at historical accuracy, I feel the same way as you… I think that making a ‘simulator’ game mode, just like in war thunder, but than with only historical squads and guns would be the best option to give everyone what they want…
I played one match after the merge and it was enough for me. Before that, I thought Enlisted had a solid niche between BFV and HLL. After the merge, it slid in the direction of BFV and that was it for me. And I still have fifty bucks worth of gold or whatever it was still on my account lol
Player since closed beta here. Yes, the playerbase has grown after Steam. But has it changed anything? No. The only difference now is that bots playing like bots in your team have been replaced by real players playing like bots. Games are still a 2vs2 at best, with everyone else being a bot or playing like one. The game is nothing but a bot kill farming simulator with one sided matchmaking. The sad thing is that this could be fixed so easily by proper matchmaking and social mechanics. Players are begging for it since years, yet the devs do one insanely dumb thing after another. It's been 4 years and the game still doesn't even have a simple chat system or public statistics. You can't just add people after a good match and ask them if they want to squad up. You have no clans, no social mechanics, no way to coordinate or make friends, nothing. So many basic core features are missing, yet they keep improving visual details and keep spamming fomo events or premium content. I've finally quit after the last Halloween event and honestly see no future in Enlisted. I don't think this will ever change under the current developer and/or publisher, as the game keeps generating money that way just fine. (We've seen it in War Thunder already...) Had a few fun months over the past years, but I can't recommend this game to anyone at this point. There are many better shooters with similar (or better) gameplay out there, at least if you are looking for actual PvP instead of bot farming.
@@kaiserknight1217 Yeah, which 2 of 10 people use. And guess what, even that one was nerfed a few years ago, as you could chat with the enemy team before as well. The game is evolving backwards lol
I loved the heck out of this game back in 2021-2023, quit ever since the merge because my Italians keep fighting the Soviets in snowy maps instead of Brits and Americans in Tunisia
@@nachteinfallt8915 The key word is "keep", I get zero Tunisia battles, I got sick of the snow after months of getting just Moscow and Stalingrad. Also, this is a bit biased, but I care more about the African and Western Fronts Heck I'd be happier if somehow the few hundred Italians fighting the Japanese in China make it to the game than another Eastern Front battle in the queue.
@elpinguinovolador4114 Exactly, I'm irritated by how British troops get to keep their uniforms while fighting alongside the US, but Italian soldiers only get to wear German uniforms outside of Tunisia.
1. The biggest problem of Enlisted is how the Merge butchered and mutilated WW2 immersion. We got Ho Ri which is a fictional tank, T20 with AS-44 which were never used in WW2, Moroccans in robes storming Normandy, Chinese in Tunisia, a freaking Panther tank disguised as American M10 time travelling to 1942 Stalingrad... 2. April fool's zombie event was neither "fun" nor did it fix any of the issues you mentioned earlier in the video. 3. Yet another (!) zombie event on Halloween was not needed for a WW2 game, but this time it was even worse, since those cringe characters and decals could be used in the main game? Like what the... 4. Cosmetic filter when? I don't want to see gigantic non historical decals on fake tanks
i agree with you on everything however the Ho Ri was a necessity, the japanese have barely any anti tank capability and the already OP pershings were pretty much invincible against the japs. however i wouldve rather had a panzerfaust for the japanese than a ho ri.
@@sideburngthepeacebringer27 No, no it didn’t. The Ho-Ri was never more than a paper design. The *gun* made it to the prototype stage, but never went anywhere. The vehicle itself never existed
this, campaign merge fucking sucked, no one wanted to see germans fighting in japan, no one wanted to see moroccans storming normandy, if people were playing specific campaigns over others it was either out of interest or other campaigns sucking, 1 of which is fixable, 1 of which is a non issue
Problem is that historical accuracy didn't work either. Sure, it was more immersive, but that doesn't matter when one faction has access to better stuff than the other. Back when I played Enlised (2021-2022), this was a huge issue with the Moscow campaign specifically, where the soviets already had better tanks than the germans, and there were plans to give them KV-1s, while the best the germans could get was a panzer 4 F1 (without HEAT of course). Basically the same was true for SMGs and rifles. And that was for veteran players. Since the grind was incredibly long and there was no matchmaking, the new player experience was panzer 2, MP28 and Kar98k vs T-34, PPSh41 and SVT40. And if you wanted to switch your campaign, then guess what, you'd be level 1 again. The hope for the campaign merge and matchmaking system was to eliminate such issues. Unfortunatelly, it ended up how it ended up and I'm fairly certain over 90% of the original playerbase quit either after it, or right before after Stalingrad's release.
I miss campaigns.. wish the devs would give us an exclusion/inclusion option or ability to whitelist maps and game types.. (it would affect player numbers in a negative way, so I understand..)
Instead of removing the campaigns they should have leaned into them and the bot teams. The bot AI could be tweaked depending on how many real players are on one team vs another. Campaigns felt unique with unique vehicles and weapons, now BR levels feel the same no matter what map you get.
Honestly never tried this just because the Gaijin name was attached to it… still gonna stay away cause your review is probably biased as you are a community manager…
I’m allowed to give my own opinions on the game fully unhinged if desired - for example, some of my past content is very critical, and there are elements of this video which are too.
Of course it's still your own decision. But I as a non biased player who also plays other games, I can tell you, I almost fully agree with the things said in this video. For me, playing the game is fun. Give it a go, if you don't like it, deinstall. It was actually the same for me. I first hesitated going back to the game after the merge, but it's been a gem for me. and that just because I gave it a go and a chance.
I think Enlisted is a good game, but I have hardly played for a while. Partly because of not being able to choose a campaign, but also because after the merging update I was hyped to just play BR 1 in order to just have chill, less competitive mostly bolt-action games. I really liked the idea of this, as I was growing tired of all the players who were cracked at the game with wild weapons as I'm not very competitive myself. With better weapons and squads Enlisted become very fast paced and competitive, where as I preferred slower paced, less competitive and more chill games. But BR 1 and 2 didn't really seem to work like that. I'd almost constantly (in fact my whole team would) be demolished by cracked players with machine gun squads and all sorts of things. They even have rocket launchers apparently. And this time, I really couldn't do much about it as I had previously been able to at least fight them to a good extend, but this time only had bolt action rifles, some grenades and a few of the submachine guns that you start out with. My team would lose almost every battle regardless if I played German or Soviet. Only as Japanese my team could hold up more of the time, for some reason.
Brother can you tell them to add game chat outside a party? Not being able to talk to teammates years into this game is so frustrating , and can you tell them to add cross progression between console and pc. I’ve been wanting to migrate for years as well without having to sink another 1500 hrs and however much money
1) Game chat - I assume you mean voice chat here, or some global menu chat system? The latter is actually on the roadmap, but the voice chat thing is "likely" because of the issues and time invested with moderating it. You might already see all the in-game chat shenanigans that happens - voice chat might make this worse, I would assume they are thinking 2) Cross progression - this, from what I know, is super tricky for devs to do and has restrictions placed on it by the platforms themselves (Microsoft for XBOX, Sony for PS). It definitely would be nice for players, but I imagine there are lots of problems for developers doing so, though it's never going to be ruled out
@MajorMcDonalds darn that’s really unfortunate about the cross progression. But to be more precise what I mean is the only way to use your microphone in this game is if you invite a player to your squad prior to match. I’m proposing that for the sake of socializing and tactical gameplay opportunities with random teammates we should be able to talk to anyone on our team for coordination or just for fun . To not have this feature is kind of asinine despite a few inevitable toxic interactions. Hope that’s makes sense 🫡
@@MajorMcDonaldsWhy The Chats Can be so toxic? Is there anything to stop this? Like in other games, if you swear more, you can likely get ban? In the Voice chat, it can really help teammates to get win or plan. There are many games have this and even moderate it.
I don't think ill ever enjoy it the same way until they return to campaigns if they ever do I had such a high appreciation for period correct units and equipment centered around the battles your fighting. It was nice to have that balance of immersion while still playing a more arcade style game
I started playing less and less after the merge. I'm a bit too old to have enough time for adjusting to complicated tech trees or for grinding through maps I don't like, with faction combinations that didn't exist. The game used to be clunky, but easy and fun to jump into for a round or two. Now I no longer have hundreds of hours to sink into stuff I enjoy less than 50% of the time. I still jump in now and then, but it feels less and less like the original game.
Also, the squad AI is useless, they just get me & themselves killed, so I always have to hide them in cover because they are no help at all on their own. I use the soldiers one by one for backup as I get killed. I doubt that was the developers' intent.
You dont seem to take into account that post scriptum and hell let loose are paid games and games that are for more seasoned players so less players will be playing them therefore i think the player comparision is not a determining factor.
lmao darkflow still does not care about player interests, you know many people wanted gold orders to stay in the game and darkflow made no compromises whatsoever
I highly doubt the Enlisted playerbase "will be studied for years to come". Very dramatic statement. It always was a mediocre game of mediocre popularity.
Hmmm... Community Menager makes video about the game he's working for and the video is positive. Well isnt' this the classic "We investigated ourself and found no wrong doing" situation?
After 1.5 years I abandoned this game, for few reasons. Reason 1. Always game disconnects or you can't play properly when you have booster worse than warthunder 2.Research after tier2 si so damn slow 3.Many bots and cheaters, people who teleport in your house without windows
The merge ruined the game for me. They could've made each campaign less agonizing to grind and kept them separate. This game is trying to be the War Thunder of fps when anyone who's played WT can see it and smartly dropped it.
I honestly felt the loss of H&G greatly, I only ever played occasionally with a buddy of mine, but we remember the game so fondly, it's a huge shame it died
The Campaign merger forces the player to research EVERYTHING in a particular line to progress. that was promised not to happen. we were lied to. I, will not be returning until this is fixed.... and my wallet is very patient.
yeah thats annoying asf, for me its more painful than War thunder grind sometimes, cuz you have to literally research Every fucking thing and buying it before getting what you want
@@tankenjoyer9175 warthunder at least had the decency to allow you progress if at least the direct predecessor is researched and bought.... thats why im so surprised and dismayed that enlisted did it in this way. makes me think, with them holding on to this, that warthunder might eventually follow enlisted.
Is enlisted ever going to get new game modes? Squad is fun but i feel like a big battle mode would really improve the game once they add team communication
It’s simply not accessible to the average person who can’t be asked to learn everything. Introduced around six friends to it and none of them understood the menus
i haven't played enlisted in about 2 years (due to reasons unrelated to the game's "fall"), but people covering its issues swayed me away from getting back into it. finally, this video has convinced me to play it once more, so thank you.
I love this game and play it almost daily. However, I am close to leaving because of two major, for me, issues: 1. stupid AI who can't even see the guy shooting me two feet away and 2. camping tanks in grey zone that I cannot enter - very frustrating. It is also pretty expensive.
100% agree on the tank portion. Made me unlock and equip the AT class and place a guy on each of my squads (I main the soviets). I haven't had any major issues since.
I was very excited to try the game. But honestly the gamemodes put me off completely. Would’ve liked to see a mode like AAS in squad, where the whole map is open, but two objectives are contested at one time. The maps are so narrow and congested I felt like I never had room to breathe. Hope to see this improve
If I were a newcomer to Enlisted my biggest turn away reason would be the grind. It's super long and tedious just to get to tier 3. Which is ironic as Warthunder has the same issue. (Same publisher)
Comparing Squad 44 and Hell Let Loose to Enlisted is manipulation. Because that are more realistic and pay to play games, so they will have lower population if you compare it to more casual f2p Enlisted.
I played for a solid month or two before I quit. It was enjoyable, I liked a lot of the mechanics, but the teams made me leave. I played Germany (of course) and after some grinding I got to BR II. Then I noticed my teams always had low, white ranks, and the enemy team always had 6-7 high, gold ranks. It was a one sided match everytime I played. I could still do alright, but could never win as I couldn't carry everyone. It was just too frustrating at that point. I don't know if it was related to an event, because seemingly all the good, high rank players moved over to Russia, and MM fell apart. This was just before the steam release, and I left feedback to the Devs when I uninstalled. I said "If you don't try and balance the teams better, the steam players won't save you as they'll quit as well."
Nice to see myself quoted in one of your videos! 😮😃 I do think things were improving well with the game over the past year but I’m very disappointed with the most recent changes to the battle pass. I normally buy the BP every season as the cost is small and it helps support the game. Sometimes I am unable to complete the BP fully but I at least get to bank a few gold orders in the process. Having the flexibility to chose my rewards was the main thing pulling me back every season. Being able to choose rewards gave players a way to build unique squads which added another level of personalization to the game. With the removal of the Battle Pass shop we have lost some of the uniqueness that made this game special. I would have kept buying the BP every season if the reward system had not changed.
I've been playing Enlisted since 2021 and I've seen all the changes. What we need the most at the moment more than anything else are new maps and campaigns. We need Malaysia, Singapore, Crete, Italy, Tobruk and El Elamein. There is so much more this game can do.
@@zwtsch I don't know if a fully-fledged French technology tree is necessary, but the French are rather under-represented in Enlisted. In the Second World War, between 1939 and 1945, the French fought on all fronts during the following campaigns (excluding those under Axis command): - Norway (ex. Battle of Narvik) - France 1940 (ex. Battles of Stonne, Lille, Dunkirk) - Great Britain (Battle of Britain and subsequent air operations, notably that involving the French ace Pierre Clostermann (33 enemy warplanes shot down) or those of the "Guyenne" and "Tunisie" bomb groups, composed of French pilots flying British Halifax heavy bombers) - Syria 1941 - North Africa (ex. Battles of Bir Hakeim, El Alamein, Tunisian campaign) - Dieppe Raid 1942 - The Atlantic (Battle of the Atlantic) (ex. the French corvette Aconit sank two U-Boats on the same day, March 11, 1943) - The Eastern Front (the Normandie-Niémen Fighter Regiment, composed of French fighter pilots, shot down 273 enemy warplanes during 3 campaigns (Battle of Kursk, Operation Bagration, capture of the city of Königsberg) - Italy (ex. Battle of Monte Cassino) - France 1944 (ex. Normandy Landings (French paratroopers were dropped in Brittany on the night of June 5-6 and 177 French commandos landed on Sword Beach on June 6), Battles of Normandy and Provence, Liberation of Paris, fightings across northeastern France (destruction of the 112 Panzer Brigade during the Battle of Dompaire on 12-13 September 1944), Battle of Alsace) - Netherlands (ex. Battle of Walcheren Causeway) - Germany (ex. capture of Hitler's Eagle's Nest) - Indochina against the Japanese
I used to play a lot of enlisted a few years ago. I stopped playing because a combination of terrible player balancing and the fact I can’t use keyboard and mouse on console. It’s good to hear they are finally addressing these issues. I might pick up the game again in the near future.
Honestly, Enlisted isn't a bad game at its core. In fact, just purely gameplay-wise, it's probably my favorite shooter game I've ever played. It really scratches that itch for getting to play with combined arms tactics and obscure guns no one's ever heard of in a game that genuinely is really well-polished. The problem, for me, is that it's just exhausting keeping up with the events/battlepass. They're constantly back-to-back, often overlapping with each other, and if you don't keep up, you really miss out on a lot. Because it's basically the only way to stay competitive without spending a ton of money on the game to buy their premium counterparts (if those are even available). It doesn't seem that bad at first, but honestly, it's why I can never play the game for longer than like, two weeks at a time at most. That, and I don't like how it's pretty much impossible to play remotely competitively without premium, either. Don't get me wrong, the game is technically playable and you can contribute, especially at lower BRs. But really, you won't be remotely competitive or contributing anywhere near as much as you could be with it. And quite frankly, with few exceptions, you're going to have to take an Assaulter + Engie squad in every lineup anyway. And if you only have one vehicle slot, that has to be either an APC, tank, or plane. Effectively only leaving you with like, a choice and a half of what squads you take in your lineup. I'd say premium is worth it if you're really invested in the game. But it sucks to lose games just because your teammates don't have it, or are trying to use different squads while sacrificing the essentials. While it's maybe not as unexpected, I also just don't like how much stuff is locked to premium content, even compared to War Thunder. Take the Chi-Ha, for instance. That is *THE* Japanese tank of WW2. Yet you can't even play it without paying money for it. Something that really should be a tech tree vehicle, but isn't. Not to mention entire squad types like Paratroopers, artillery vehicles, and Combat Engineers. Or other iconic/historically common things like the Churchill tank. It's gotten slightly better over time, but it's still frustrating how like, 90% of the content in the game is premium/event, even if it was actually pretty common historically or makes up entire squad types.
wrong! its core is the BOT SQUAD and they did it wrong it is no squad, they are walking respawns that you cant store too far away from the action and thus they get killed easily
@Gesaleico55418 It's a problem, yes. Personally, I'd fix it by having a system that "pings" the player's location and where they're moving every 2 seconds or so rather than a fixed perfect aim or no aim just so they get kills a bit more without being absolute aimbots like before (trust me, it was bad). As well as labeling things like sandbags as cover objects for them to get behind. But honestly, I think people overestimate that as a problem. Because even if it's annoying, everyone is still equally disadvantaged in that way. Personally, I just can't stand how much is locked to premium content and how much harder it makes the game for F2P players. Even I've spent a fair bit of money on this game, and usually play fairly well, but can still be held back from actually winning matches because of the lack of tools my teammates have/are allowed to use. Sure, I might have a dozen squads, including a Panzerwerfer, paratroopers, MG APC, event guns, etc. But my teammates are still stuck endlessly throwing under-equipped assaulter squads at MG nests because they don't have a better way to contribute.
@@StalwartTirith I wouldn't say so. Almost all of Enlisted's issues have little to nothing to do with the inherent game design in and of itself. The game is a WW2 combined arms shooter. Which inherently has nothing to do with the excessive monetization, AI that constantly tries to get itself killed, or how much stuff is locked to premium content. Sure, those things are problems. But they're easily-fixable problems tacked onto the game's design. Not something that fundamentally makes the game in and of itself. Personally, I think the closest thing to a "fundamental design issue" it has, is that in my opinion it could use some BR decompression, since a lot of stuff at the same BR in this game is just objectively superior in every way to others while not necessarily belonging at a lower BR, either. But even that could be reasonably easily fixed within a month or two of rebalancing. If you actually want to see a fundamentally bad game, just look at any of the top 5 games on Roblox's front page. Enlisted has its issues, but it's far from just fundamentally flawed. But if you really want to debate that, what about the game's design (not just some one-off, easily-fixed issue) makes it fundamentally bad?
@@foxxowoxxowillow7855 game would be fixed if they remove bots. not everything would be fixed that way but lets say 70% the other 30% is MM im a free to play player and i never had a problem ending first on the scoreboard. the unbalance is what will make me quit the game., i will go back to HnG once is reborn again😇
Well, i lost my old T-34 STZ squad just because that meaningless "sold squad" button, and it's rediculous changed place with confirm and cancel button, makes you sold your lagecy squad quit easily just after The merge. Back that time there wasn't the second confirm button when you sold your squad. And guess what, they still refuse to give back my squad even it's a technical problem that caused by them.
Having listened to this during my night shift, I might take a look again at enlisted. Haven't bother playing it since the campaign merges and just kept hearing so much crap going on or not being done. Probably worth checking it when my current set of shifts finish and I can spend a few days off checking it all out. Cheers.
Enlisted needs to add back campaigns or separate Britain and Italy. They need to add more customization options for the French, Chinese and Italians. They also add more maps per update and new settings like Italy and Manchuria, and MOST IMPORTANTLY make AI half decent, let us turn off specific maps so for example I could use my Brits and not have to play Guadalcanal (which is why I say Britain is a separate faction), and to stop cheaters.
@@offbrand9513 this lol, people keep complaining to bring back campaign without realising how divided the playerbase would be, how long match queues would be, how little players would be in some factions
I'm glad to see all of the positive changes the developers have been making, even since I've started playing only in April. Here's to seeing more of that in 2025!
13:35 Major I love your video, but you realize your comparing a free to play game with a payed to play game right? Like most people play enlisted because its free, and because its free its more accessible. That said I do think enlisted is improving. For example the latest update, although had some issues, those issues were minor, was bloody amazing. Keep up the good work. That said you said enlisted has learned from its mistakes. A wise man said to me once. "Trust is hard to gain, its harder to gain after making mistakes, but it is really easy to mess up." Hence I wouldn't say they learned from their mistakes, they just ceased to make mistakes, or in all honesty. They are giving what the players want. I would say enlisted is still on rocky footing, but it is getting better.
Been playing enlisted for at least 2 maybe almost 3 years at this point now. And honestly i just lost the motivation to keep playing, and i have heen getting severely burnt out during events for new event squads as 20k per 2 days is just a little much even if its not meant to be done in one sitting. Even if they lowered it to 12k to 15k them it would be in a better spot but to have event after event after event as nothing but 20k per 2 day events just kills the vibe for me personally. The last squad i ever actually earned from an event was the STG Horn squad and the Federov Automat event squad the one with all the camouflage soldiers. And this should say alot as to how many new event squads i skipped in the past year. Assault Engineer's, Rocket Artillary, 100mm T34, The Partisans, The NKVD squads with 100 roumd tompsons. Basically everything i skipped as it just feels tedious and exhausting for me personally. Not to mention very stressful when you only want to play as your favorite factions or if your grinding research exp because darkflow didnt add an option to grind exp for any faction without actually playing as them if your playing with any faction on that way your not wasting exp on factions you dont like to use much. Mainly stressful because your going to get shafted by the weekly herd mentality of players who congregate to which faction is popular right now. Honestly playing as germany even before i hopped off for a while felt like germany on the tunisia campaign with almost all the real players as the allies or the soviets making grinding at your own pace a nightmare as its either you go to the into brain dead mode and farm as CAS/tanks only or artillary spam all game just to farm exp when there is no chance of capping the objective when you yave a full 8-10 stack of sweatlords ready to make your life miserable. The Partisans have especially done this for me as ive been spawn killed 3 times in a row by a partisan spawn camper farming tank kills. Literally dying in less than 5 seconds after spawn with no chance to retaliate or evade the TNT. Overall enlisted had just made me miserable more than anything. And i havent actually played in probably 7-8 months?.
been playing since day 1 and the game just feels less and less enjoyable. bugs, horrible ai, weapon spam, i can go on and on listing annoying aspects about the game. after the devs announced "The New Enlisted" i pretty much gave up. the game just isnt fun

Hey Major do you think your going to start posting again.
@@seanpavlac9881 Yes I will be :)
@@chrisgilding6296 I really hope they do get their own tree, yes - it's something I'd really like to see, alongside other minor factions
if you type all caps SAS NOW, that means we can break in and rescue you at any time.
This game is one of the most unique ww2 games on the market. But its uniqueness is constantly overshadowed by horrible ai, uneven matches, and bad map/objective design.
Unfortunately the devs suck at monetizing the game (stuff like soldier customization are so stupidly expensive)

Man early enlisted was so dope with the lack of late war content and ability to choose your preferred campaign but now it feels like a cod game with all the assault rifles and stuff
You can still play lower BRs to avoid the COD feeling. I mostly play BR2 myself for this exact reason and it's much more fun imo
just stay tier I-III then
@@nakulaman same game at low BR.
I just think that they should just have a realistic squads only mode for people who have like everything like me
That AI cat post has got to be one of the most tone-deaf corporate apologies I've ever seen
Gotta love it
It's actually funny😂
It is definitely their best urban map, gameplay wise, in my opinion.
i wish it was like that for War thunder.
Allies are steamrolling everyone after the last update. Are you sure you are doing everything correctly?
I play German so it doesn't bother me if I lose a lot. Really good for immersion.

Sounds like huge skill issue. Its free to play grind stuff game. Ofc there will be grind to nearly all the functions
Campaigns will be back?
Not saying the system was better, but I personally fell off after they got rid of campaigns. Prior to that, I played close to 800 hours
yeah i play american i hate to play in pacific or againt russians then i had choice to leave now i just dont play
I uninstalled the game right away after the merge too and I have like 62 days worth of battle time prior.
I liked this game, but i quit because of the teammates. It was very frustrating losing every single game.
(My win percentage is about 20% I think)
I played mostly over the summer and tried it again a few days ago but uninstalled some time later. Maybe I’ll reinstall the game again and see enjoyment. Have a good day 😀
I’d also say that the majority of losses that I’ve seen is that people don’t PTFO or build rallies
@@AntiThotPatrol true. It’s surprising the amount of people who don’t actually know how to use rallies and such. Or even know how to play the game
My win rate is 70% playing by myself. This game doesn't have SBMM which means you need to learn how to play well if you want to win.
Good to see a new video from you! I'm glad they brought you on board to give the players point of view and improve their game.
@@HiraethMasonrysame
Agreed!
If squads were like 5$ I could understand but they want like 55$ for a single squad
(We've seen it in War Thunder already...)
Had a few fun months over the past years, but I can't recommend this game to anyone at this point. There are many better shooters with similar (or better) gameplay out there, at least if you are looking for actual PvP instead of bot farming.
I quit over the matchmaking. I could only stomach it for a month or two.
It does have a simple chat system at least in game towards your team.
Italians did fight in snowy Russia, so why is that breaking your immersion?
@@nachteinfallt8915 The key word is "keep", I get zero Tunisia battles, I got sick of the snow after months of getting just Moscow and Stalingrad.
Also, this is a bit biased, but I care more about the African and Western Fronts
Heck I'd be happier if somehow the few hundred Italians fighting the Japanese in China make it to the game than another Eastern Front battle in the queue.
@@TheDankswhy can't we choose the maps we want to play? It makes no sense.
@@nachteinfallt8915 They should have their own uniforms tho, also italians should be a separate faction entirely.
I wouldn't call the Ho-Ri a fictional tank, because one actually got built as a prototype.
@@sideburngthepeacebringer27
No, no it didn’t.
10:53

He wanted that paycheck at the end.... glazing the heck out it....
Yes he did. Enlisted is fun to kill a couple hours but it's way too expensive. In the AI is too stupid! (Unless they're shooting at you)
Instead of comparison to Squad-likes such as HLL or '44 they should be angling to fill the void Battlefield left when they fumbled 2042
Too bad, Free game like Delta Force Exist
I agree I do not think you can compare Enlisted to HLL or 44. These are just two completely different WW2 games
Very nice Video, Major. Felt nice to revisit history.
Good to see you back.
Happy new year Major!
Huge video. I cannot imagine how much time it took you to combine it all together. Good work!
I still play but the campaign merge and conquest mode grinds my gears
Well there was no base to begin with...
You might already see all the in-game chat shenanigans that happens - voice chat might make this worse, I would assume they are thinking
2) Cross progression - this, from what I know, is super tricky for devs to do and has restrictions placed on it by the platforms themselves (Microsoft for XBOX, Sony for PS).

I do my best c:
BS. Squad is easier to understand and is more user friendly than Enlisted, and Hell Let Loose is more popular than enlisted.
@randomjetsergeant9198 that may be the case but they are still paid so the point stands
lmao darkflow still does not care about player interests, you know many people wanted gold orders to stay in the game and darkflow made no compromises whatsoever
I highly doubt the Enlisted playerbase "will be studied for years to come". Very dramatic statement. It always was a mediocre game of mediocre popularity.
Hmmm...

Well isnt' this the classic "We investigated ourself and found no wrong doing" situation?
After 1.5 years I abandoned this game, for few reasons. Reason 1. Always game disconnects or you can't play properly when you have booster worse than warthunder
2.Research after tier2 si so damn slow
3.Many bots and cheaters, people who teleport in your house without windows
The merge ruined the game for me. They could've made each campaign less agonizing to grind and kept them separate. This game is trying to be the War Thunder of fps when anyone who's played WT can see it and smartly dropped it.
ngl the only real bug that makes me crash out is when your gun glitches and you can't aim down sights normally.

Is enlisted ever going to get new game modes? Squad is fun but i feel like a big battle mode would really improve the game once they add team communication
100% agree, the lack of new gamemodes has been pretty noticeable. Would definitely like new ones.
It’s simply not accessible to the average person who can’t be asked to learn everything. Introduced around six friends to it and none of them understood the menus
Welcome back brother. Haven't seen you on RUclips for a long time.
i haven't played enlisted in about 2 years (due to reasons unrelated to the game's "fall"), but people covering its issues swayed me away from getting back into it. finally, this video has convinced me to play it once more, so thank you.
awesome video my friend! i am back to the game, and i can confirm the playerbase is multiplied !
It truly is Christmas time when Major McDonald uploads a RUclips video 🥹
love your wt stuff
If I were a newcomer to Enlisted my biggest turn away reason would be the grind. It's super long and tedious just to get to tier 3. Which is ironic as Warthunder has the same issue. (Same publisher)
Stick to the lower tiers & get good. Higher tiers are just p2w shooting gold automatics at you 😂 & they are still losings.
Comparing Squad 44 and Hell Let Loose to Enlisted is manipulation. Because that are more realistic and pay to play games, so they will have lower population if you compare it to more casual f2p Enlisted.
does that mean we'll get a 2 hour video ranking all the BP weapons major has missed in like 6 years time?
A 2 hour video will take me 2 years to edit btw
@@MajorMcDonalds inshallah we shall wait
Turns out the FPS community doesn't like having their wallets torqued to spec by the snail.
He’s a good idea for some new maps, going through Italy which lead for new content of Britain and Italy
Nice to see myself quoted in one of your videos! 😮😃
I do think things were improving well with the game over the past year but I’m very disappointed with the most recent changes to the battle pass.
There is so much more this game can do.
we need more changes that doesnt have to do with adding maps or weapons, but balance and a more slow paced experience
I used to love the game I still play it every so often but it just has changed…
Same.
So when are the British, Italian and French tech trees coming?
Now British merged with the USA, Italy with the Germans, they were all separate factions before the merge system (France didn't exist at that time)
What do you expect to see as French BR5 clones of STG, FG and Tiger 2?
Weird fictional weapons?
@@bbcmotd It does not even need to have weapons at BR5 as far as im concerned if the weapons are french im happy if they are just BR 1
@@zwtsch I don't know if a fully-fledged French technology tree is necessary, but the French are rather under-represented in Enlisted.
In the Second World War, between 1939 and 1945, the French fought on all fronts during the following campaigns (excluding those under Axis command):
- Norway (ex. Battle of Narvik)
- France 1940 (ex. Battles of Stonne, Lille, Dunkirk)
- Great Britain (Battle of Britain and subsequent air operations, notably that involving the French ace Pierre Clostermann (33 enemy warplanes shot down) or those of the "Guyenne" and "Tunisie" bomb groups, composed of French pilots flying British Halifax heavy bombers)
- Syria 1941
- North Africa (ex. Battles of Bir Hakeim, El Alamein, Tunisian campaign)
- Dieppe Raid 1942
- The Atlantic (Battle of the Atlantic) (ex. the French corvette Aconit sank two U-Boats on the same day, March 11, 1943)
- The Eastern Front (the Normandie-Niémen Fighter Regiment, composed of French fighter pilots, shot down 273 enemy warplanes during 3 campaigns (Battle of Kursk, Operation Bagration, capture of the city of Königsberg)
- Italy (ex. Battle of Monte Cassino)
- France 1944 (ex. Normandy Landings (French paratroopers were dropped in Brittany on the night of June 5-6 and 177 French commandos landed on Sword Beach on June 6), Battles of Normandy and Provence, Liberation of Paris, fightings across northeastern France (destruction of the 112 Panzer Brigade during the Battle of Dompaire on 12-13 September 1944), Battle of Alsace)
- Netherlands (ex. Battle of Walcheren Causeway)
- Germany (ex. capture of Hitler's Eagle's Nest)
- Indochina against the Japanese
I'd like to see a small Polish campaign for like BR I/II only
I used to play a lot of enlisted a few years ago.
When a game is bad purely in all the ways that makes a game, then it's safe to say the game is bad at its core lol.
@@foxxowoxxowillow7855 game would be fixed if they remove bots.
not everything would be fixed that way
but lets say 70%
the other 30% is MM im a free to play player and i never had a problem ending first on the scoreboard.
the unbalance is what will make me quit the game., i will go back to HnG once is reborn again😇
I literally just began playing😢 and I just started watching you.
No way he uploaded
Great video and thoroughly informative. I'm surprised you even had time for this, Major! Well done. - LokalHero.
Yooooo major is so back!!!
Yo its my first time visiting your channel and notice that you just came back, how lucky i am
Yooo welcome back major, since you being base guy,we really missed you😢
bruh 1 year of major not making a vid is tough, ABSOLUTE W THO
Having listened to this during my night shift, I might take a look again at enlisted. Haven't bother playing it since the campaign merges and just kept hearing so much crap going on or not being done. Probably worth checking it when my current set of shifts finish and I can spend a few days off checking it all out. Cheers.
I'm glad to see you upload again Major. Cheers to another year of enlisted. 🍾
Welcome back tea man
thank you for you speaking facts even tho you work in DF , thank you for sharing this problem with clue less people .
Campaigns no. BRV is too sweaty and full of unauthentic equipment now. I am glad I can avoid them.
Yes let’s add back what divided the game population by 6 and then let’s have different BRs, then we will have divided our population by 30 maximum
@@offbrand9513 this lol, people keep complaining to bring back campaign without realising how divided the playerbase would be, how long match queues would be, how little players would be in some factions
It’s what made the game unique for me. Just mashing everything from every theater and basing it on War Thunder’s battle rating system isn’t it.
@@kulot-ki1tu yeah, if I remember correctly darkflow said there were sub 100 players at some point across all campaigns
They moved to fight for Super Earth.
I loved it, but then they got rid of the different Campaigns, and just completely lost me.
Stopped playing it, and havent looked back.
Forget the player base, we missed you Major!
Top 3 things to fix:
1-Ai improvements (better animations, smarter bots)
2-Night maps
3-increase damage of all weapons by 2-3%
Been playing enlisted for at least 2 maybe almost 3 years at this point now.
And i havent actually played in probably 7-8 months?.
been playing since day 1 and the game just feels less and less enjoyable. bugs, horrible ai, weapon spam, i can go on and on listing annoying aspects about the game. after the devs announced "The New Enlisted" i pretty much gave up. the game just isnt fun
i got an enlisted ad before watching the video
