  • I have received some requests from some viewers that are having issues with the Emax Babyhawk not arming.
In this short video I explain the most common issue of why lots of people are having problems with their Babyhawk not arming.
Please try the first fix mentioned in the video and if that does not work then make sure that to look at you Betaflight settings as follows.
Check your receiver tab in BF and make sure that your Stick range settings match the min,mid range and max range settings via the receiver tab and the Config tab in Betaflight.
If they do not match, then subtrim your radio so that your settings on the receiver movement graph match the range settings listed in Betaflight.
These settings are found on the BF config tab listed as ESC/motor features and the mid range listed on the Receiver tab.
To check the range of your radio switch, use the BF modes tab.
Please note that when the Arming is set up correctly on the Modes tab, that you should save on that tab and then see the Arm button turn yellow when you throw your switch via the radio.
Thank you for watching the RC Sane Asylum channel and please leave a like and subscribe if you haven't already done so..
All that helps me keep the channel going and allows me to bring you all new content.

man Dez the plot thickens and your going to like this i always seem to get the duds but after i got the thing flying i ran into another problem
so i noticed it when i was only getting about 30 sec flight times and i picked up the quad after it fell out of the sky and checked the battery it was down to 2.5v per cell ya crazy. once i took the battery off it regained it's voltage to about 3.1v
and then i felt the motors and the front 2 motors where so hot they would burn you i couldn't feel the esc's with them covered. i need to open it up and test some connection with a multi meter and see if there is a short in it
i was just wondering what you would try to test out if i had extra motors and esc's i would swap them out but i don't an i got if from the same place as you team legit would you think they would replace it with the mods i did with the sat receiver
last of all with all the stuff you have going now don't feel like you need to answer me right away i'm not in a big rush to mess with it. i'm kinda done with it for now

Tyler I can only say a big UGGH to that. That sounds ery strange. I would recommend talking to someone from emax first. The best place to ask is on facebook. Go to the facebook Official Emax group and join their group. They are super on it and I bet they would let you know what can be done. Emax is great when dealing with customers that have a problem. They stand behind their products and have great support. The is a guy on there Named Brandon Souza. He is a great dude and runs the group. How many flights did you have in before it started doing this?

ya dang that i good to know i will ask them and the first flight was like 5 seconds cuz the Acceleratorometer was not calibrated quite right but when i got that fixed and could fly longer thats when i noticed it so really from the beginning and
the other thing that made me notice when i did a full punch out the front motors kinda turn off and it falls from the sky so my guess is the motors or esc's are bad but it's hard to say without being able to replace them
thanks for the help again hope your weeks is good

I'm starting to have a problem with my Tinyhawk. Every once in a while it will not arm. I spent 5 minutes in a parking lot yesterday trying to get it to arm before it finally did. Restarting the radio, unplugging the quad's battery and plugging it again again 5 or 6 times. Shutting the goggles off and on over and over. Just before I gave up and went home it finally armed and I was able to fly for a few minutes, but I spent more time trying to get it to arm than I did flying.

In CLI do set small_angel = 180 This way you can arm at any angel.

I'm not a fan of it either, however I do love the Babyhawk.
I am going to look into it more because I believe this can somehow be changed.
I just have limited time right now due to the passing of a close friend but I wanted to get this up there for some of my viewers that requested the help untill I get to further look into this.
      Thanks for watching Andy!
      Sincerely, Dez

This is a feature of Clenflight/Betaflight and has nothing to do with the BabyHawk itself. The default is allowing up to 25deg off level to arm. Over that will not arm. You can change the default angle to anything up to 180. 180 will allow arming at any angle including upside down.
Use the CLI and the command "set small_angle= xxx" the xxx is any angle up to 180 that you want to be able to arm at, your choice.
If you want to see your current setting type "get small_angle" and it will show you the current value
Once again, this is a Cleanflight/Betaflight feature, not a Babyhawk feature and is true far all models using Cleanflight/Betaflight. If you disable acc this value will be ingnored and you can arm at any angle, but will lose angle and horizon modes.

iDrone thank you so very much for adding this. with the passing of a dear friend of mine I didn't have the time to look it up and I remembered it was some kind of feature but I didn't know where exactly it was at. have a great evening and thanks for watching channel and for your reply of wisdom. Sincerely Dez
