Lower means faster mate you know why Air that comes towards you when you have lower stem like -17 you are forced to lower your body let me teach you a single lesson a human body Is like A knife if you put your knife straight your knife will nnot have air resistance because it cuts through the air plus it depends on the rider i have track bike 60/13 is my gear ratio -17 stem 90mm size 54 trispoke on the front and 50mm 24holes and shimano cleats
Tbh his position doesn't look the most aero while riding. But if you can't put the power down while in a super aero position then yeah a less aggressive position is faster. Also when you look at riders doing time trials they never ride hunched over bars in extreme aero position, they use wind tunnels to find positions that have the lowest drag coefficient, and it's almost never on a bike that is fully slammed at the front.
I can only imagine how much fun riding an indoor track like that has got to be
Awesome
You look faster when riding those bikes.
