I had an opportunity to play that Les Paul. It was on display at The Philadelphia Guitar Show maybe 10 years back. I caught the guy who had it at a very slow time during the show and he was kind enough to sit me down and carefully place that guitar in my hands. I played it for about 10 minutes unplugged..truly awesome experience.

So good to see Peter again and still in love with music and guitars. His playing was and is such a total antidote to the sterile thrash and shred which so many young players seem to think is the be-all and end-all of playing guitar and making music. Long may he live and continue to enjoy life.

I discovered Peter Green's music late, after hearing Page, Clapton, Townsend and Santana for years. Once I heard him, not to put down all the mentioned artists (who are all incredible), I realize where they got much of their inspiration. And even as far as Fleetwood Mac goes, for the longest time, I didn't pay attention to them because I had only heard post-Green stuff. I also recently discovered JJ Cale, I'm ashamed to say. And while I still respect Mr. Clapton, I now just consider him a very good guitarist who played other people's music. So I tip my hat to the understated musical geniuses of this world, may they all rest in peace. I'd like to think that Peter and JJ may be chilling up in the clouds somewhere, sharing a beer, and jamming together. RIP Peter Green.

Fantastic off the cuff interview here and very intriguing insight. As each case opens and is accompanied by Peters words a whole world of nostalgia hits you. I find the bit where he is asked about whether there are any Les Pauls especially interesting. The guitar had a profound effect on Peter. It possibly reminded him of what could have been etc. Can you imagine opening one of those cases and finding a Les Paul. It’d be like finding El Dorado.

@@lukekelly4360 Btw, Tanglewood is also making all solid wood acoustics these days that are NOT cheap. I saw a solid mahogany back and sides guitar with a solid spruce of cedar top with cutaway and LR Baggs electronics from them for about €1350.-
So, it's not only about selling €200.- oriental boxes anymore. They're aiming at more market segments now. I was surprised to see that a Tanglewood was the most expensive brand new acoustic guitar in the shop. You should check their website. There are really interesting developments going on at Tanglewood's.
For me it's too late. I'm a Blueridge guy, and I have a Maton with cutaway and a AP-5 pre-amp from 1999 that beats them all. It's the EM-325C.

In his later years he would randomly phone up to ask for a specific guitar which would be on his mind, and we'd go up and dig it out for him and let him know it was there. It was pretty surreal hearing the legend on the other end of the phone. Sometimes we would send them out to him but other times nothing would come of it.

I'd love to see him play a Vintage V100 Lemondrop, since it's based on his old Les Paul

Jewel Eyed Judy, at 3:57 it sounded a bit like the interviewer guy played a few chords from that song.

He obviously went way over the top with buying guitars.
But if I had the money, I would probably do the same.
    God bless Peter Green

Now, that's interesting information. Do you recall what the serial # was?
I'm pretty sure that there's going to be an auction that's comparable to the Richard Gere and Peter Gilmore guitar auctions.
Maybe you can buy it back at 20x the price you got for it in 1999.
This is the only Iceman I would like to own. Peter was one of my three electric guitar heroes: Hank B., Carlos and Peter.
Normally I don't care for guitars with horns that look like stiff dicks.

Not that one, that was actually Steve Miller's signature model. You can tell from the weird single pickup. I think that model is more rare than the natural korina one, and even with that rash on the back I've never seen one in that good of condition with what appears to be the original case. A collector's item for sure, made even more so by having belonged to Mr. Green.
