As a former WoW player, and fan of Wrath of the Lich King (IMO, the best expansion), this is really scratching at that nostalgia itch and tempting me. However, cooperative games just tend to get boring after a while, and find competitive games get played more. However, this one may be great to play with kids and newer players.
It can also be played solo because you're not competing against another player, you're competing against the game board itself & when playing Co-Op its a shared end game goal of facing the lich king together.
Thank you for your review! While I have never played a Pandemic game, I have played other cooperative games (including those by Matt Leacock like the “Forbidden” series). Also being an avid WoW player until about a year ago, I am really excited for this and your review makes it sound like a great fit!
Really loved your review. Only critique I have is if you could speak to what you thought of solo play as I'm primarily a solo gamer. You've earned yourself a sub :)
Totally playable solo and it does a pretty good job at it, too. You have to manage two characters, but the simplicity of the rules (compared to many more robust games) make managing two characters pretty reasonable.
Great breakdown of the game, Jack. I was definitely intrigued by this one but am still enjoying the heck out of my new Pandemic Fall of Rome (also with dice!). Have you played that one? I do you think that the quest system of this game sounds fun, but the totally different barbarian paths as well as the action cards that can be improved by corrupting Rome itself make FoR a really fun departure from the norm.
I wouldn't blame WoWs uninspired designs on "Family friendly". There is plenty of room for creative artistic expression in the realm of "armour fantasy". She Ra, League of Legends, Avatar for example or from your own collection Catacombs and Oath
Sound bits at the end are much appreciated.
I was hoping SOMEONE would get something out of that. Thanks for watching!
I picked this up on clearance at Target for $30. Fun game.
Great review. Criminally underrated

There’s directions for solo play included! But yeah I see what you’re saying 🤓
Could it be good for a solo player or only co-op?

When I read "Pandemic system", I instantly thought: a game designed for people stuck at home during a pandemic! LOL sign of the times.
Haha, certainly an easy mistake to make. Didn't even occur to me and now it's all I can see in the title. LOL
Please, card size? Thanks! 🙏
