    Ilias Iliadis is a Georgian born Greek judoka who was 17 years-old at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games where he overcame his young age and international inexperience to win Greece's first ever Olympic gold in judo.
    Iliadis was also the flag bearer for Greece at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and won his second Olympic medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games, this time a bronze.

    The man is brilliant! He instinctively had an answer for every attack and could create actions to which he already knew how to react to in order to resolve the bout. Genius.

    One of the best attacking fights I've ever seen! He just swamped his oponent with aggression and athleticism! Judo seemed more exciting back then before the new rules.

      In my opinion the new rules make it to look more like judo.

      @@diang1984 can you tell me in a nutshell what those rules are and what they changed as opposed to how it was before them?

    • @diang1984
      @diang1984 Год назад

      @lefterismagkoutas4430 for instance no leg grabs, more direct game,penalties for passive game. The fact that the number of ippons increased, especially in the rule set of 2012-2016 was a sign that all these restrictions made the athletes more efficient.
      Iliadis was the kind of player whose physical game was beyond any other in his league. Literally a miracle.
