It really upsets me when athletes get all grumpy and angry when they don’t win gold, and this is a wonderful example that shows when you have that Olympic spirit, when you truly believe in it and work hard for it, gold will never be the final destination but just something wonderful you encounter along the way :)

She is without doubt my favourite female Russian athlete of the 21st Century

Nah, Stefanidi is a much better face for women's pole vault than Isinbayeva. People actually like her unlike Yelena. Her comments after the Rio Olympics were pathetic, especially since they were aimed at an athlete who was supporting her during the whole WADA incident.
