When looking for a gun review for people that wanna see the gun before they buy it your channel is perfect sir👍, you provide the perfect ratio of getting the guns angles in very clear photo and video, you record yourself shooting the gun in a manner that we can see how the recoil affect you and how the gun moves in the hand, when ppl look up reviews to buy a gun they wanna see the beautiful side of it, the performance in the field, and the small details throughout the videos with clips of you shooting to thoroughly explain what you are talking about. Keep doing what your doing and I’ll be here for every firearm I plan on buying and a lot I most likely won’t😂💯

Maybe in competition but doubt it will have much of a presence in the Concealed Carry market much longer. 2011 will eventually replace that eventually to. Same with my P220. Hammer fired guns are a dying breed.
Hi capacity, striker fired, plastic guns are the future.

It is one of the most beautiful and reliable 45acp.’s I have owned and shoot mine every weekend! My Daily EDC for a decade is a Sig 938 “Rosewood” 9mm thats very reliable and accurate for it’s size. I want the Kimber Micro “Raptor” 9mm to replace it one day for I am a Kimber Fan!! The 1911 in 45 acp is the G.O.A.T.!#(myopinion)#🐐#Kimber#Raptor

Good review! I've had four 1911 Kimbers. Two from Clackamas that were phenomenal guns. They had all the the things that you would send to gunsmith to do. Quality, value, accuracy features which caused me to buy two more. Right after they moved to Yonkers. Those two were POS.

I own two Kimber 1911s. A Kimber Raptor and a Kimber two tone. Both are .45 cal. I previously owned a Kimber Classic Target; (purchased in Sept, 2001). It, too; was .45 cal. Stain;ess as is my Raptor. .45 cal. is very effective. There is no need for more than eight rounds. As a retired U>S. Marine, I first became acquainted with the old M1911 A1. in boot camp, 1966. The right tool for the job.

I have a Kimber Pro CDP II. It is strikingly beautiful, fit and finish very tight. I had issues with failure to eject, I contacted Kimber and they were responsive. I sent the gun in and sent it back. Also after reading on forums to switch to Wolff "Extra power springs" would correct the issue. I called and actually got to speak to the owner of Wolff springs, if I remember correctly his name was Mike.
He spoke to me unrushed and told me he had told Kimber in the beginning to increase the strength (lbs) of the recoil spring. My gun too is in the Commander length, 4" barrel.
I don't know if these are the quality control issues your talking about. I think Kimber was trying to make a gun that was easy enough for a women or man with less hand strength to rack, but in a commander size frame especially with the aluminum frame of the pro CDP II it wasn't enough. I constantly had case's hitting me in the forehead, some drew blood if they hit with the open end.
With the Wolff "extra power springs" and "Wilson Combat" mags it works well. I think I bought it in 2007 new. I always wanted a Raptor but they weren't available in Ca. Beautiful pistol.
I think the 1911 was meant for an all steel frame hands down. I by no means ever limp wrist a gun. Just my experience.
Enjoy your videos, subscriber, been watching a long time.

I have a number of Kimber 1911s. My top two Kimber pistols are the Stainless Raptor II and the Stainless Pro Raptor II. Each have custom grip panels and now reside in their very own case. Neither have been shot. I just can't bring myself to it, but I may someday. The Kimber Stainless TLE II was a daily carry, but since I have moved to 9mm lately, the Stainless "Artic" that is not one of Kimber's mainstream 1911s is my 1911 of choice along with the Springfield Armory Ronin.

I’ve had my Ultra Raptor II for almost two years now. I did have some issues hand cycling some hollow points when I first got it. So I went ahead and polished the feed ramp with a dremel and a cloth bit with a dab of polish and it feeds them perfectly now. It is an excellent piece in my collection and it carry’s nicely in the crossbreed holster. Mine has the aluminum hammer spring housing that has the same machines scales as the top of the slide and it definitely lightens the gun up a tad. I bought a stainless spring housing that had similar looking grip cuts as the front of the Raptor that also had a flared mag well attachment. I had that in there for awhile but I didn’t like how I couldn’t just slap the mags in the gun you kinda had to push them up through the mag well with your thumb to get them to click in and it added noticeable weight to it so I went back to the aluminum housing. The only negative thing my gunsmith had to say when I asked him is they do use metal injected molded parts on these. I haven’t had the gun out to the range to much other than ensuring function and it ran without a hiccup. I was really surprised at how well the recoil felt since this was my first 45acp gun. Thanks for all you do man keep it going!

If you check out my RUclips channel you'll see i had the same kind you did and I finally had to get rid of it. I tried everything. I kept it cleaned and lubed. I gave it a good chance past the break in period. I finally sent it back to Kimber and they did some stuff in their shop but sent it back to me in the same functional condition It was originally in. I so wanted it to be a carry gun but so ultimately sold it.

@@Joe_Friday yeah I went to load the first hollow point and it jammed when I released the slide so I was like hmmm. So I tried hand feeding an entire mag slowly releasing the slide and it would jam almost every other time and what was concerning was it was shoving the projectile into the case ruining the round. So I busted out the dremel and gave it s nice shiny polish job and I slowly hand fed round after round several mags with no issue then let the slide go home with one and no issues at all. Took it to the range had had a great experience.

Just got one today for 1299.00 before tax. I wanted a commander size 1911 with a steel frame and this is one of the only ones like that that I’ve seen without getting into the upper tier 1911’s and for about 200 bucks off msrp I couldn’t resist

Had an original Raptor .45 acp true blued 5 inch when they first came out, which I don't think they make any longer. It was a beautiful firearm, but like an idiot I traded it for a Smith & Wesson true blued 5" target model with adjustable sights that I still own. Every gun owner / collector has done this. The one I let get away, but I was shooting in a competition league & wanted those adjustable sights. The Smith is a great .45 but it just doesn't have that unique Raptor look. Stainless is nice, but a true blued handgun is just so beautiful. I still carry a Commander 1911 for carry, & also a Colt "Defender" .45 with a 3" barrel, which is a great concealed carry
.45 & I only loose 1 round. One thing I don't like on any 1911 is ambi-safetys, John Moses Browning had it right the first time,....Lefty's can figure it out.

Lol. I'm left handed but shoot right handed with pistol or rifle. Can't even shoot a rifle left handed but can with pistols just not as accurate but still defend my self confidentiality shooting pistol left hand. My dad was right handed so that's how he taught me shoot so most things left hand shooters have issues with don't worry me I'm glad my dad tought me shoot right handed.

    • @kentonhammond8938
      @kentonhammond8938 2 года назад

@@danielfrye4445 I'm right handed but Bat & Golf left handed. I think I was suppose to be a lefty but my Dad didn't like that so he made me use my right hand. So now I find myself doing some right some left, but shoot right hand period. I have always hated ambi safety's & I own carry & shoot a lot of 1911's. I'm a geezer now & was weened on
.357 & .44 magnum pistols, then went to 1911's as my semi-automatic pistol of choice, although my collection has many others, I still shoot 1911's the best. I have had an ambi safety knocked off a couple of times in my life, I carry OWB in a thumbreak leather holster, thank God, which blocks the hammer. I have an original Springfield EMP 1911 in 9mm with ambi's & I love that gun as a carry piece but I have to get that damn ambi / lefty safety removed. John Moses Browning had it perfectly "Right" the first time around.

There was a thread on 1911 forum called, 'name one brand of 1911 you would never buy'. Kimber was the winner by a long shot. Save a little more and get yourself a Dan Wesson or better yet an Ed Brown. You'll be glad you did.

Another good video sir. Can’t believe it didn’t jam at least once a mag. Both Kimbers I bought in the early 2000’s we’re JamoMatics. Other officers I knew that bought them for off duty carry, had problems too, or had to pay a gunsmith to work on them to get them reliable. I said never Kimber again after I sent my 2nd one back to the factory due to jamming. They sent it back to me “repaired” but It still jammed like they did nothing. I did buy a Springfield & an STI that both ran perfectly out of the box. A reliable Kimber, especially a short barrel, is a unicorn 🦄.

That rear sight looks like its already drifting out. My 5'' Raptor's rear sight drifted out within the first 300 rounds. I reset it with some Locktite and it's been fine. Almost 2000 rounds through it in 3 months. Only 3 malfunctions, 2 were FTF within the first 200 rounds and both with the factory Kimber mag (trash). The third was a FTF at around 1800 rounds when I was shooting it rapidly with a single hand, I think I limp wristed it. My take away is this pistol has been 100% reliable within 2000 rounds when using Chip McCormick or WC mags and shooting it correctly.
