My sister farmed out her kids & did this for a year. Made deliveries on Christmas Eve in freezing & snowing New England for a $2500 bonus. She kept a long piece of pipe that she had to use once. Between the scaries everywhere she went & the lunatics on the road we all thought she would die in a crash. Still amazes. Being out there alone is not safe. Never ever think it is.

It looked very tasty! 😊 Good idea to borrow Mama's massage equipment too! When I did a lot of overnight trips I found that my neck became very painful, it felt like my head was just too heavy to hold up properly, very painful, caused by tension, especially if the weather was difficult for driving. The device you had is called a "Shiatsu Neck and Shoulder Massager with Heat" - my wife has the same type! I suffered for years until, one day when speaking to a friend of my wife (who was once a work colleague of mine) said she could "Fix my problem" because she was a Reiki healer. She examined my neck and back muscles then gave me a course of massage and manipulation which took about 15 minutes. I felt absolutely amazing afterwards! I have never had that problem since then (over 30 years ago). So it works and it lasted forever! Ha ha! I also use bed socks because I find my feet are cold when I first go to bed, I also remove them later as the bed warms up! 😊 One question, what is the name of the yellow duck (it looks like a duck) who is your bed companion, Timea? It looks so comfortable and cozy and I hope you have any sort of defense mechanism in your possession just for protection. All in all, I think being a trucker is a very rewarding profession. You are on your own for the most part. A lot of respect for truckers the world over.

Cozy. I am figuring you have a port-a-potty in there? Another thing to consider is a portable ice chest size freezer/refrigerator. I have one I take in my camper on freezer setting. Runs off AC or DC. My fridge is big, but the freezer is small. I think I paid less than $200 for a Bouge RV unit. Works great. The only other thing you could use is a small portable sink that you could brush your teeth and wash your face. Safe travels!

I have done a bit of sleeping out of my car myself over the years..as others have mentioned, a small can of fly or insect spray is a good deterrent, and a blunt or sharp instrument by your side! It looks like you have have a COE type truck, at least suggesting, along with your meal planning, that you're a regional driver. Congratulations on trying what few people are willing to try. Truck driving is challenging and requires so many more skills than most people realize. I drove long haul because I wanted to see at least all of the contiguous 48 states and as much of Canada as possible.

Also, as someone who's spent a bit of time OTR, if you're going to be driving at night get your windshield as clean as possible inside and out. It will greatly reduce your fatigue. Do not ignore the interior of the windshield, you'd be surprised how much dirt builds up on it without it being apparent, and if you burn those incense stick on your dash that going to leave residue on the glass.

Try wearing a back support while driving. I put one on when doing heavier work than usual. It works for me. Nothing beats moms cooking.
