Hey loyd, I was a bethelite during this annual and can provide some insight about the laughter referenced in 34:45. When Lett announced the title "this is it!" and Morris announced the identity of the king of the north, the whole audience was on the edge of their seat, eating every word by Morris wondering if the great tribulation was unfolding as he spoke or within the next year at the latest. It was at this point in the talk when the audience realized that the details are still unclear as before and they started to relax a little. Everyone I worked with at bethel pretty much expressed that they were anticipating more definitive details because of the absolute certainty expressed by the GB but went along with it anyway believing that prophecy was being fulfilled as we speak. But I agree, what's the point of a prophecy if you don't understand precisely how it will be fulfilled? A meteorologist does a better job of predicting the weather than the Bible predicting the future and they themselves are never right 100% of the time!
Bible v Truth I agree with you on this one. The level of expectations around my hall was high only to be let down by another crazy freak show. Kind of like the conventions as of late. You get all worked up being told it’s like we are walking around the walls of Jericho with these special tract campaigns to invite ones to a convention that only features pointless videos like Jonah for example. Not very up building in my opinion.

Wow, all of the activists are making such an impact. As I listen to part one and two, I kept thinking how they are reacting to all of the external criticism. They are watching. What you are doing is vital.

They don't even mention that year anywhere. They spoke about it so often before 1975. Like it was so important. Now, it is never mentioned. Now, it seems like they are afraid of it. They want to just ignore it. The same with the Australian Royal Commission. The same with the UN involvement. The same with their investments. The same with organ transplants. Nothing is mentioned about any of it. I guess they figure it will all just go away, if they ignore it long enough.
The audience laughed to break tension. Very basic psychology. Nervous laughter like that acts as a psychological pressure release valve. You can see it at work in all types of social situations when one or multiple parties are trying to relieve pressure from themself or others. Tony worked them up to a high point of anticipation and then kept them at a cliff-hanger, so they had to chuckle to relieve that energy. You can also see Tony maintain his dominance by maintaining a serious stance through the laughter. Quite powerful.
Why did he call the 1914 prediction a prophecy? We all recently learned that they are not inspired, not infallible, and are not prophets? How can they predict anything, and why would they be expecting anything would happen in 1914?

I get what you said Lloyd once about listening to their teaching in another language. I grew up as a witness in Spanish and listening to this in English really makes me realize how ludricous all is.
It's one of the many tiny sparks which made me realized there was something wrong... I'm not proud of my first reactions to 9/11 attacks... When I thought about it, I felt guilty wrong (and still). But this "spark" was just another guilty feeling aimed towards myself... I hadn't understood that it was "systemic" yet.
When I was in, one I had thought they had gotten right at the time was the Anglo American alliance going against the UN as the two horns separate in Revelations. I’m sorry. I have to stop at 12:18. Is it just me or everytime they say “The King of the North”, what pops in my head is “Jon Snow is King of the North!” I think it has been a little too long since Game of Thrones was last on-I am very eagerly anticipating the last season.

It's very true what you say about the effect on kids... I was in from birth to the age of thirty. Twenty five years later I still have an inbuilt doom personality imagining that things could fall apart at any time... despite having a relatively successful career and life. It's tantamount to child abuse!
The term "channel" is commonly used by people who claim to have a link to the spirit world - psychics, mediums, etc, so if their inspirations of vagueness are coming from anyone, by using this term I think they are telling us who they think their source really is

Thank you John , I was shunned a couple of decades ago, I no longer recognise this organization that still has a vice like grip on both my parents and my sister. You're videos have opened my eyes to the huge change in tactics by "" the governing body" so as to maintain their absolute control. You're work is incredibly valuable my friend.
Even when I was in,, I always felt the Organization was unfair in their telling the stories of persecution, especially in Nazi Germany. They always made it seem it was about them, when millions died simply for being Jewish. And that’s not to mention the many other groups that were persecuted and killed at the time, also for their faith. Also, to say today is unlike any other time is a slap in the face to history. The ego trips in this video, now that’s unprecedented.

They’ve been messing with the minds of the young for over a century!!! What I find interesting is that in General this is not far from what I was taught to expect as a young child. It’s so familiar to me! This imagery creates PTSD the way this violence is portrayed, because children are being taught this is going to happen. And as such it’s real and causes the same psychological damage as if it really did happen. I clearly recalled being terrified of the great time of trouble. I actually confronted my father (an elder) when I was 14 about this stuff because I was terrified about the prospect of never getting a chance to get married or have a family of my own. Now I’m 64 and have a beautiful 3 1/2 year old grandson! Nothing they told me would happen did happen. It never will!

I think I recall a Watchtower or Awake cover from 1986 or 1987 ?with all the religious leaders praying in a circle and the whole idea was "Peace & Security" = the end is near. Something to that effect. Total fear-mongering.

Hi Liam, I tried hard to get back to this comment but I couldn't find it 🙈. Yes I was raised a witness, 3rd generation on my mum's side. I left in 2011 but only woke up last year, family is all still in. I live in a small town outside York..if you guys ever do meet ups I would be up for that 😊
I don't think Tony Morris was too confident with his speech. That the first time I've seen him floundering with the logic he was presenting. I think he spent a lot of time trying to present new interpretations of the King of the north but was floundering to provide real evidence. I've never seen him so unsure of what he was saying. Look again at the video. Usually he is so smug and sure of himself.
Cecily Bruce just saw your comment. I posted the same thing! He looked very uneasy and his speech pattern and pale red that came over him throughout gave indications he wasn’t confident in what he was saying at all.
Thank you Loyd for the facts! I was born a jw and left in 1998! I remember in 1986 when they did make a big deal about the year of peace as being fulfillment of prophecy ! I was disfellowshipped after having to tell the elders in the back room every sexual detail of my fornication so that they could determine what sexual sin I committed. I now can look back and see how sick this was! My grandfather molested over 30 kids along with my mom and her siblings. One of her siblings was handicapped in a wheel chair and was sodomized by his father, my grandfather. The elders never once turned him into the authorities but only disfellowshipped him twice. The elders knew he had molested many but never once warned others in the congregation which led to him being able to molest more. I know that jehovah will deal with justly one day.
I can imagine how brutally painful it must have been to sit through the whole program listening to all of that verbal diarrhea coming from their word holes. Thank you for these 2 videos. Well done 👏👏

Its like he was scared to say it.... 🤔I am still in the organization and waking up to a lot of things that i never thought about or didn't know about. Its sooo hard to feel how i feel right now because i am on my own waking up because others won't take it seriously. My marriage is being affected by it because i would love my other half to see these things are not just lies that come from the table of demons but are actual facts that we can find in our own literature and on social media. I want to thank you Lloyd for all your hard work you put in these videos because you show from a human standpoint😜 things we normaly wouldn't question, so thank you for sharing all this with us☺️👍

That was quite an epic! I'm amazed at the degree of fantasy the organisation is able to suck out of its thumb and bring across in the most compelling imagery. They have really entered into media communications but as you say, it's likely to blow up all the sooner in the face of such documentation.

I believe I read in a comment here on Facebook that he grew up with deaf parents, which may go a long way to explain his super-vigorous facial expressions (as an alternative way of communicating) and exaggerated enunciation (originally a habit formed to help deaf people read on his lips). All of the JW leaders look like caricatures or living cartoons with very distinct looks, exaggerated facial expressions and a strange cadence to their voices... My favorite guy is the guy whos eyes bug out when he speaks (featured in part 1 of this series) but I really find these leaders fascinating and would love to be a fly on the wall during one of their closed meetings. I think one of the reasons the governing body get so much laughter is because for once JW lives they can laugh at something without having to worry about whether it was right or wrong to be watching something or laughing at something because of how controlled JW lives are. Number 15 was my favourite, then there was Jehovah Is Our Refuge which I worked out on piano and was surprised to find standard rock chords, and In My Integrity which a nice little key change on the 3rd line of the chorus (at least I thought so anyway). Looking back I didn't realise (or want to admit, I suppose) that the music was mostly infantile, and not one of them was actually an expression of something which could be called worship. They are largely vacuous affirmations of doctrine and exaltations of the organization.

This 21st Century GB are grandstanding too much and are more concerned about their properties than the people affected. Once again, people are more important than physical things.

The content from the annual meeting is preposterous on so many levels and I am only able to get through this because you give us breaks from the footage and dismantle everything so logically. Now they are animating the ‘wild beast’ - for the love, please stop. Poor kiddos. I grew up on Paradise Lost/Paradise regained - an orange book. The pic that stood out to me was the hail and fire balls falling on worldly people who were running and falling into the earth. Fast forward 45 years and the fear-mongering has only intensified to keep members trapped in there for safety. It makes me so sad for the 8 million captives. I feel like when they were talking about Russia and the persecution, it was so obvious to me that they were painting this picture of the boogie man around the corner and that he could be coming for you next, so watch out. How sad, the way they keep the majority of people in the organization is through these fear tactics, manipulation, and threat of shunning.
I’m amazed that the Governing Body is narrating the chapters. This is the religion that was so proud of the fact that no man is given credit in the magazines, books and bibles. Now they are thrown right out front and brag that a Governing Body member or helper is narrating. 🤔
I very much recommend brother Splane, that when he'll brake his leg and bone will stick out from the body, he shouldn't go to the hospital. He should "extend his right hand", go to elders, pray, read Bible and wait for Jehovah. No doctors, no painkillers or putting bone back together. If he believes that's all people with such an illness like depression needs, then it should also work quite fine with all other sicknesses and injuries. When brother Splane has an accident or gets very ill, don't take him to hospital. Bring him Bible and call elders. For me that's one of the proofs why they can not be inspired or guided by any higher intelligent being - they completely don't understand this type of problems. They'd need only a little bit of thinking and insight to see that they're stupid and overly proud to even try to deal with mental illness, victims of child abuse, health issues like blood etc.

As a person raised in a totalitarian system I must say that the impact of disturbing propaganda of any kind on children is really crushing. I was constantly shaken and scared to death by news about the Third World War beginning at any moment and nuclear bombs and so on and by training for such things. It filled my childhood with deep fear and anxiety. I still fight with after-effects of this kind of propaganda on my life. And to live all my life with this "morbid doomsday fantasy" - I can't even imagine what it must be like. What a horrible "the best life ever" indeed.
What seems to me as quite odd is the illustration used to see Christ appearing out of the heavens with his army, is the fact everyone is wearing clothes from biblical times. Also the Ezekiel thing, they show a ring within a ring instead of a wheel within a wheel as quoted in the bible.
How they keep dangling words for people to reach out and grab hold of..., but every time, they pull it out of reach and say not so fast! It keeps people chasing their hot air.

I’m sorry. I have to stop at 12:18. Is it just me or everytime they say “The King of the North”, what pops in my head is “Jon Snow is King of the North!” I think it has been a little too long since Game of Thrones was last on-I am very eagerly anticipating the last season.

Even when I was in,, I always felt the Organization was unfair in their telling the stories of persecution, especially in Nazi Germany. They always made it seem it was about them, when millions died simply for being Jewish. And that’s not to mention the many other groups that were persecuted and killed at the time, also for their faith. Also, to say today is unlike any other time is a slap in the face to history. The ego trips in this video, now that’s unprecedented.

They’ve been messing with the minds of the young for over a century!!! What I find interesting is that in General this is not far from what I was taught to expect as a young child. It’s so familiar to me! This imagery creates PTSD the way this violence is portrayed, because children are being taught this is going to happen. And as such it’s real and causes the same psychological damage as if it really did happen. I clearly recalled being terrified of the great time of trouble. I actually confronted my father (an elder) when I was 14 about this stuff because I was terrified about the prospect of never getting a chance to get married or have a family of my own. Now I’m 64 and have a beautiful 3 1/2 year old grandson! Nothing they told me would happen did happen. It never will!

I think I recall a Watchtower or Awake cover from 1986 or 1987 ?with all the religious leaders praying in a circle and the whole idea was "Peace & Security" = the end is near. Something to that effect. Total fear-mongering.

I don't think Tony Morris was too confident with his speech. That the first time I've seen him floundering with the logic he was presenting. I think he spent a lot of time trying to present new interpretations of the King of the north but was floundering to provide real evidence. I've never seen him so unsure of what he was saying. Look again at the video. Usually he is so smug and sure of himself.

Thank you Loyd for the facts! I was born a jw and left in 1998! I remember in 1986 when they did make a big deal about the year of peace as being fulfillment of prophecy ! I was disfellowshipped after having to tell the elders in the back room every sexual detail of my fornication so that they could determine what sexual sin I committed. I now can look back and see how sick this was! My grandfather molested over 30 kids along with my mom and her siblings. One of her siblings was handicapped in a wheel chair and was sodomized by his father, my grandfather. The elders never once turned him into the authorities but only disfellowshipped him twice. The elders knew he had molested many but never once warned others in the congregation which led to him being able to molest more. I know that jehovah will deal with justly one day.
GB should be either in jail or in a mental hospital. Either way, chained.

Its like he was scared to say it.... 🤔I am still in the organization and waking up to a lot of things that i never thought about or didn't know about. Its sooo hard to feel how i feel right now because i am on my own waking up because others won't take it seriously.
My marriage is being affected by it because i would love my other half to see these things are not just lies that come from the table of demons but are actual facts that we can find in our own literature and on social media.

I believe I read in a comment here on Facebook that he grew up with deaf parents, which may go a long way to explain his super-vigorous facial expressions (as an alternative way of communicating) and exaggerated enunciation (originally a habit formed to help deaf people read on his lips). All of the JW leaders look like caricatures or living cartoons with very distinct looks, exaggerated facial expressions and a strange cadence to their voices... My favorite guy is the guy whos eyes bug out when he speaks (featured in part 1 of this series) but I really find these leaders fascinating and would love to be a fly on the wall during one of their closed meetings.

I think one of the reasons the governing body get so much laughter is because for once JW lives they can laugh at something without having to worry about whether it was right or wrong to be watching something or laughing at something because of how controlled JW lives are.

Number 15 was my favourite, then there was Jehovah Is Our Refuge which I worked out on piano and was surprised to find standard rock chords, and In My Integrity which a nice little key change on the 3rd line of the chorus (at least I thought so anyway).
Looking back I didn't realise (or want to admit, I suppose) that the music was mostly infantile, and not one of them was actually an expression of something which could be called worship. They are largely vacuous affirmations of doctrine and exaltations of the organization.

This 21st Century GB are grandstanding too much and are more concerned about their properties than the people affected. Once again, people are more important than physical things.

Wow, fantastic work. Thank you Lloyd. The content from the annual meeting is preposterous on so many levels and I am only able to get through this because you give us breaks from the footage and dismantle everything so logically. Now they are animating the ‘wild beast’ - for the love, please stop. Poor kiddos. I grew up on Paradise Lost/Paradise regained - an orange book. The pic that stood out to me was the hail and fire balls falling on worldly people who were running and falling into the earth. Fast forward 45 years and the fear-mongering has only intensified to keep members trapped in there for safety. It makes me so sad for the 8 million captives. I feel like when they were talking about Russia and the persecution, it was so obvious to me that they were painting this picture of the boogie man around the corner and that he could be coming for you next, so watch out. How sad, the way they keep the majority of people in the organization is through these fear tactics, manipulation, and threat of shunning.

I’m amazed that the Governing Body is narrating the chapters. This is the religion that was so proud of the fact that no man is given credit in the magazines, books and bibles. Now they are thrown right out front and brag that a Governing Body member or helper is narrating. 🤔
I very much recommend brother Splane, that when he'll brake his leg and bone will stick out from the body, he shouldn't go to the hospital. He should "extend his right hand", go to elders, pray, read Bible and wait for Jehovah. No doctors, no painkillers or putting bone back together. If he believes that's all people with such an illness like depression needs, then it should also work quite fine with all other sicknesses and injuries. When brother Splane has an accident or gets very ill, don't take him to hospital. Bring him Bible and call elders.
For me that's one of the proofs why they can not be inspired or guided by any higher intelligent being - they completely don't understand this type of problems. They'd need only a little bit of thinking and insight to see that they're stupid and overly proud to even try to deal with mental illness, victims of child abuse, health issues like blood etc.

As a person raised in a totalitarian system I must say that the impact of disturbing propaganda of any kind on children is really crushing. I was constantly shaken and scared to death by news about the Third World War beginning at any moment and nuclear bombs and so on and by training for such things. It filled my childhood with deep fear and anxiety. I still fight with after-effects of this kind of propaganda on my life. And to live all my life with this "morbid doomsday fantasy" - I can't even imagine what it must be like. What a horrible "the best life ever" indeed.
What seems to me as quite odd is the illustration used to see Christ appearing out of the heavens with his army, is the fact everyone is wearing clothes from biblical times. Also the Ezekiel thing, they show a ring within a ring instead of a wheel within a wheel as quoted in the bible.
