The losi IS faster, but it's also a little too fast for it's scale in some situations. The kyosho is meant to be a very scale vehicle, speed and all, not really a basher. They're meant for 24th scale carpet or foam tracks and driving both I'd say the kyosho is much easier to control and race with, but if youre willing to master it the losi can be a better option because of its greater speed.
Mini z basically always have repair parts cuz kyosho is really good about that, not sure how long losi will make the replacement parts. Hop up parts are gonna be more available with the Z too, whereas the losi youre gonna be hard modding changing most things.
Its hard to choose between them, and it should be because theyre both excellent in what theyre good at. Id say go kyosho if you want a long term investment in a moddable rc, and losi if you want quick fun nao, or a faster but harder to control top end. Cant really go wrong either way.

Seeing these at Mingo makes me wanna skate there again lol.
Impressed how the micro B wheelie’d out of the one landing. I think they gave it enough power to be the scale equivalent of a 17.5 stock 1/10 buggy. They need a stock micro racing class at EN!

The brushless VE verison of the Mini Z buggy is much faster than the non VE yet it's as fast as that Losi mini at most. I don't understand why people are triggered at the results, the $100 blows away the mini Z speed, get over it. I much prefer the 4wd system of my Mini Z and Flysky/Futaba radio compatability. Eventually, that Losi mini will be $79 or $69 on sale, and I'll definitely buy one or two!

So relieved to read your comment. Our results didn’t seem too crazy based on other videos of the brushed buggy we’d seen.
I wish the VE was easier to find in stock! -Brandon

You can get Lithium AA batteries for the mini-z and they have a bit more voltage. That will give you a higher top speed and a bit more power.

  • @RC-Overkill

Don't use alkaline batteries with the mini-z, they dont have the power. Use good rechargeable AAA batteries, my reccomendation: Eneloop
There's a first run video on my channel with the mini-z brushless buggy using eneloop and normal batteries. The Eneloop provide substantial more power and i find them even better than the specialized mini-z accus (kyosho speedhouze for example). Still wating on my preordered Losi micro b, which will not arrive until december (europe). Thanks for the video!

I have both. His kyosho is slow because he’s using energizer batteries.
Also the kyosho needs the motor upgrade out of the box $20.
The kyosho handles almost 100% better than the micro b. The Nico b is almost 2 light.
I also have a gt24b that smokes both of these but the electronics suck out of the box.

I love running AAA batteries in the mini cars. That's 1 reason i like Mini Z. Get some good rechargeables for a decent price, can use them in other electronics too. I got a stage 2 motor for like 13 bucks on ebay, way worth the money.
Losi is a great deal though. I dont think you can go wrong with that one, I Like them both.
The updated V2 brushless kyosho buggy just came out. Its over priced, but i got it anyways...

I've seen online the micro b is comparable in speed to the mini z buggy with the xspeed v brushed motor swap in. It would be interesting to see if that's true.

It was slow. We then powered off both vehicle and tx, held in throttle while turning on tx which made the tx begin flashing green. We then powered on vehicle and after that the vehicle was faster but still not as fast as the micro b.
I’m not sure what we could be missing here. We also tried fresh set of energizer max batteries with no change in result.
All the videos we’ve seen it seems speed is a common complaint.

@@Hypeduphobbies-ytyou should try Ni-MH 800 batteries on Miniz.
For sure if you factor the price, the micro is a Win I may agree.
But the video guys although being true and honest does not really make justice to miniz platform.
It is not a basher, it is a highly tunable hobby grade car.
It was nice to see a stock comparison tho, thank you, great work!

  • @babupranav

need the brusless upgrade for the kyosho. its 4wd and heavy for the brushed motors. it really comes alive with brushless and will likely handle the higher power better. Durability however will be an issue for the kyosho.

Very hard to beat Losi !
I really dislike Kyosho the brand ! In late 90s I owned a nitro powered Kyosho. I had constant issues with the rear diff. Constantly stripping gears even If i would drive it slow.
From there I hated Kyosho and I will never buy a product from them again 😤

    • @NeoIsrafil
      @NeoIsrafil Месяц назад

The real problem you run into is when you want to go brushless on the losi... now you're modifying the chassis and if you screw up you're 3d printing parts or just straight buying a new car. The kyosho is built to be upgradeable and moddable so really what we've got here is a high speed toy grade vs a hobby grade that's more scale. Granted you can MAKE the losi hobby grade, but the work that goes into it and amount of rigging things isn't ideal.
