Especially where I live, cuz it's a very small island (Madeira, Portugal) and everyone's interest is to build lots of apartment complexes or luxury houses... Young people don't get a choice...other than living with their parents or to pay expensive rented places...or to be in debt for the rest of their lives... This is an awesome example to be learned worlwide!

Oh I wish I could live there! I wonder if you’d ever consider making one wheelchair accessible? One could put a stair lift inside to get upstairs as long as one can get inside and lower kitchen cabinets would be amazing.

We are in desperate need of affordable, safe, energy efficient homes here. Our city has grown by leaps and bounds and average home prices here are in the high $400's plus HOA fees that start at $250 a month. This does seem like a great alternative to buying a condo or even renting a nicer unit. I would hope that most of the homes don't turn into short term rentals but instead become a real community. Curious how much the HOA charges are each month.

Are these container homes & how do you handle flooding issues, though? That's my next goal to get a tiny home again, since I'll be an empty nester in a few years. Will you be doing these in other states! We're back home in Brooklyn, NY ten years now from Stone Mountain.
I wish they'd done all edible only landscaped around the houses/complex. I'd want to grow my food, catch my own rain water and have solar on my roof. I don't think I could do that in this community. So, I'll pass.

I believe one side has some. As the neighbourhood is built like a coil, the "blind" side of a house matches the one with windows for the next. The houses are so close to each other it makes sense not to add a window where it will only show the neighbor's decor
Its a closed are for outside foot traffic. One of the downfalls is that they need to clean up that whole area especially on Godby Road where there is trash, litter and a derelict apartment complex that is falling apart

Good question! South Park Cottages is connected to the city's sewer system and likely had to hire an engineer to help them figure it out. Though surprisingly the sizes range from only 399 to 650 sqft. 😁 399 is definitely tiny but the high ceilings make it feel so much bigger.

It is on city sewer. But you can create a great septic system in more rural areas if needed.
