South Park Cottages opened in 2023 with a village of 29 tiny homes just outside of Atlanta. The average price is $190,000 to $230,000. Average mortgage price on $190,000 is $1,500 🏡. (Compare that the average price of a home in Atlanta for $431,250). Sustainable amenities: Gated community, garden, walking path,🏃♂community fire pits, dog park, 🐕 solar lighting. The demand was so great that they SOLD OUT before they were built, and less than two months after they hit the market. (Source: "Business Insider" - Real Estate) You can't beat it!
I see a lot of negative comments and i understand but coming from the point of experiencing living in a “tiny house” I downsized from a 3200 sq ft house to a 600 sq ft adu and absolutely love it! Easy to clean, and you don’t miss all of the “stuff” that you thought you needed. For me, it made me realize the unfortunate waste we acquire trying to keep up with everyone else to have the biggest this or that. You can free up money for traveling and making lifelong memories! These are beautiful!
These are kind of starts up houses , not for big families with kids. I don't think if these were 3,4 bedrooms most people in the black community would be able to afford them.. If they build bigger houses the community will become a quite expensive community to live in as well.
I live in Georgia..Georgia needs to be open to TRUE tiny homes giving people the option to individual purchases of their own bringing their own tiny houses to leased or rented land in a community setting.
And you own your land! It's crazy that so many tiny homes have become so expensive, and then you have to either buy your own land (which then has additional costs, like setting up utilities, etc.), or you have to lease it in a "community" that will continue to increase that monthly fee astronomically as time goes on. I know of people who were on fixed incomes who can't afford it anymore, and now they have to sell their tiny homes at a loss (because you will rarely get back what you paid for it). I saw one yesterday for $230,000, 399 sq. ft.!!! (Just the house).
Roads have many rules to follow and have to be made to state standards for the DOT to accept them. In many states this means roads so wide at cul de sacs that they can accommodate a fire truck…..and endless other rules. Here is another thing about roads…..they are very expensive to build (as yes I have first hand experience with this). All of these costs have to be absorbed into the cost of the home……which doesn’t work well for tiny houses. You get better ability to absorb secondary building costs with larger houses….that is just fact (that the average person doesn’t understand).
Looking at those tiny dark houses in the cramped space for so many families makes me feel claustrophobic - extremely stressful!!!! I would HATE living there.😥
How did these tiny home communities do during Hurricane Helene? This is one of the things that keeps me from buying one, worrying about severe weather. I've been looking at NOAH Certified tiny homes for that reason, but I still have the other problem...finding a place to put it (I want to own the land).
Remember, it’s all about affordability, the bigger the yard, the bigger the money you pay! It looks safe, clean and professional, plus it’s affordable.
I like tiny houses for the right situations, but these are so stark, dark, cramped and ugly. You needed to minimize the outside part of the videos and show more of the interiors and possibilities of the interiors.
I would not thank you for a house in the first community. Talk about coming home drunk and not knowing which house was your’s. And the filming of the inside of those houses…my four year old grandson could do better. We don’t want to see the walls…we want to see the rooms. C’mon. Sorry to be so negative. The second community was lovely…but i was surprised to see some of the houses at the end of the rows look out to the side of the houses of the next row. Ick. I like tiny houses, but i don’t want to feel cramped outside.
Please , I know everything in America is about money , profits and capitalism . But, please don't allows any real states investors, promoters to came down their to messed up the pricing and community. Because , very quickly this will turned from a peaceful place to a hell hole and we don't want that..

I may ride down tomorrow to check it out. I’m not in the market for buying one but want to see how they’re living
It’s nice!
@@valeriebillings7248 I tried that and I couldn't get it cause it's a gated community

Agree!
And so much less to manage and maintain! I am all for tiny! ❤

Did you buy your own land?
.facts!!

I Think it’s Beautiful Community!❤❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I like the cottages at the Vaughn in Clarkston. The colors are bright and the interior is beautiful.
When I think about tiny home living, I envision a detached small home… not a cluster of attached condo-like structures.
Some of these tiny houses are beautiful, but cost just as much as what l paid for my house.
Yeah, it’s not worth it if it costs as much.
Yes agree, BUT when did you buy your home. Home prices are quite higher than they were even 5 years ago. Decent 1 bedroom Apts start at $1500.

I love the balcony spaces at The South Park Cottages. I love the colors of the tiny homes at Cottages at Vaughan.
Yes, it probably would’ve been a perfect scenario. If the driveway was in front of their house or parking in front of the house or a garage.
Garage for sure just for safety
Can yall build these in Dallas-Fort worth, tx
The builder is techie-homes.com
I Love it I grew up in NYC small condos I survived
Why aren't there individual driveways? It looks like you have to park a distance from the home in certain sections? That didn't make any sense.
And have to walk all you groceries and stuff from the parking lot to the house.
I agree but it's cheaper for the builder because a driveway takes up space that could be an entire tiny home I suppose.
Yeah right. Houses to close together

It looks crowded 😮

Those are really nice!😂❤
Don’t have to smell vehicle fumes and as for groceries get a rolling cart….
Good idea regarding the rolling cart. I’ve seen quite a few that are nice
Gargle-y bubbly music makes the text sound phony...just too too toooooo cute!!! Disservice to the video.
How do they hold up to storms?
I would not call these tiny homes. condo or something, but not tiny homes.

Not a good Location.
Too close to the Highway/Interstate. One way in and One way out. The houses on top of each other like sardines in a can.
Yes, I agree. If the home is small, then spread em out and give the owner more land space in between. Also, adding a garage+ personal driveway .
Glorified apt living
All the gray buildings are depressing.
They all look the same no different colors on the houses .

the Music really put a damper on would could have been a very good and informative video
Sorry the music is not to your particular liking. Please feel free to mute the sound while viewing.
I could not live in them too many nosey people around.
Plus it's too close for comfort.

Definitely NOT for me - except as a guest house.
That looks miserable, you will have next to nothing and be "happy"?
Some ppl are minimalists and would rather have very little. That makes them happy.
@@vals6079 more power to them! To each their own. I think they would make good peasants in a communist country. But that's just me.
