    If you don't think this is a sleeper, I'm kindly going to have to ask you to turn off your computer and never watch a car video again.
    Thanks,

      It would be highly highly highly highly suspect of not being a "sleeper" A red flag on this one for sure visually & if your deaf

      Never seen a sleeper with a parachute before, that would tend to make me a bit suspicious....

    • @jlo13800
      @jlo13800 7 лет назад

      If i had it would run oil injection with BRP XD 100 oil, lets how it does then, hehe.

    • @jlo13800
      @jlo13800 7 лет назад

      You take a tall deck block and make a custom cam that times the valves to open at around the same time, exhaust a little longer and use crankcase pressure along with a Whipple blower to make a loop scavenged through the valves 2 stroke, now run a dry sump with oil injections with 2 VRO pumps and there you go, I cant wait to try this..

    I watched this car in the 2016 Hot Rod drag week. It may be a sleeper to people that haven't seen it before, but it more than held its own during drag week. Good for the owner to stick with what "he got".

    True Hot Rodder! Knows what he is doing and trying to get the most out of the car. Goes down the track straight well so good driver too. When a car is that quick you get looks and lots of admiration. Enjoyed watching. Nice job!

    Mega thumbs up for the engineering!!!!
    I like it even more that it includes a SERIOUS effort to muffle the vehicle, making it a true sleeper and far more 'steetable'
    (assuming that is even possible with 1200 HP and 8.31 ET @ 164 mph in the quarter)

    A sleeper does not look suspicious like this Chevelle; example: Farmtruck. Back in the late 50's, one example we put together was a buddies beautiful stock-looking, two-tone pastel green '53 Ford Victoria HT. Took a ’56 Olds, bored it to 348ci + Jahns pistons, headwork. dual AFB’s, Engle cam/kit, balanced by Vic Edelbrock and bolted to a 4-speed Hydramatic (low gear was a 3.82 !!). The result with this combo was a truly awesome “sleeper” that would literally jump across the street on a green light. Had trouble though destroying the rear axle assembly which was ultimately cured by using a Ford station wagon axle. We later realized this HD axle was the now famous 9" Ford.
    Good ‘ol days roddin’ at random in ELA and Montebello with Chevron Supreme 100 octane in our tanks at 25c a gallon and LESS during a gas war (really-- competition was for real before the federalies figured out how to wreck the “free” market.)

    Back in the early-mid 1970's my 65 El Camino was unbeaten racing E Street San Bernardino. It also had a 327 60 over 11:1 RW's and a Edelbrock hogged out Stock car CB3 manifold, "Mostly Strip, Little Street" Sig Erson cam (good to 8 grand plus... and one Holley Dual feed double pumper 650 carb. The tranny was the close ratio racing M-22 Muncie and I love that small block power we raced any car that had license plates no matter the cubes or carb combos. Everyone got beat badly! "10 -20 Train-lengths" was the usual measurement those that watched us race :) I can hardly imagine what it would have been like if a turbo had been added to my 8 grand screaming 327 :)

    "never saw that coming" seems odd to me.. You sure? (not degrading the car, it's sick, and 8's is impressive for a giant 4 door no doubt. But I certainly wouldn't be "a sleep" if I saw a Chute and slicks)

    I have a very similar car. 1964 Ford Fairlane 4 door. Not as fast, mine runs in the mid 10s. But it's still fun, looks like junk, but can really move. There are a lot of financial advantages to staying in the 10s. I love the idea of using old 4 door beaters as race cars. If you should total one, you haven't lost a rare, irreplaceable collector car.

    I love sleeper cars. I am currently building one out of a 1964 Ford Fairlane 4 door. However, not being rich, it will be normally aspirated, and I'm aiming for the mid 10s. It will NOT have any kind of electronics on it, except for the ignition. I despise EFI engines, and won't even drive one on the street. I don't yet know whether this car will be streetable or not, but if it is, it will not be a daily driver.

    Best street sleeper around when I was 'young'. Back in the mid 70's a friend had a plain jane two door center post RoadRunner. But he put a standard hood on it and primed her so no markings at all. 426 Hemi but was running big bore Caddie mufflers so it was real quiet without losing too much power. Oh... and there was a little 1 1/2" tailpipe with a slide over chrome tip sticking out the back. He even had it slid just a little bit into one of the 2 1/2" exhaust pipes that exited in front of the rear end. You couldn't see THEM, but you could see a little exhaust coming out of the small tail pipe. It even had a little soot on it. He took the column of a junkyard three-on-the-tree and put it in. It was jacked up with the biggest rubber you could get (L-60's) in back. The front? Yeah, stock painted rims with hubcaps and stock rubber. It looked like some kid's dad gave him his 318 2-barrel Belvedere and he jacked it and put big tires on it... just like a lot of kids did back then to look cool. "All show but no go" So, here is this guy at a stop light shifting a column shifter and egging you on. You are sitting in your 390 or 396 or 383, or for that matter 427, whatever and say to your buddy, "Watch me blow this moron back five years" SURPRISE............. Mine... yeah, not so much. 63 Nova with a 60 over 327's tunnel ram sticking out of the hood, 2" headers coming out of the fender wells. and the entire car shaking from the huge cam. Ah, the good old days. Regular was like 19 cents a gal and Sunoco 260... around 40. Then the oil crisis hit. Couldn't afford to start it, let alone drive iit...........

    All that Horse Power doesn't do a bit of good if you cant transfer it to the road. Without having good traction... lots of people forget tire traction, its what gives you a faster ride than the other sleeper

    A sleeper is a 59 Chevy wagon with a 455 olds front wheel drive in front and a flat 6 lycoming aircraft engine in the back. Saw that rig about 20 years ago in SE Oregon. Ran the olds up to 50 or so then threw the magneto switches on the lycoming.

    Just because it has 4 doors doesn't mean it can't be fast. '73-76 had 2 (two) '57 chevy 4 door wagons were I was . Oh. They WERE 1 and 2 in town. Found in the back 40's and beat everything to include each other, depending on the driver. That was before they were called sleepers
