I'm sure everyone watching is thankful for the dedicated work your putting into each episode
I agree the effort in editing late in the night and the ride during the day is exceptional
Thanks y’all, the appreciation makes it worth it!! ❤
@@flyingsparksgarage your set ups, editing skills and speed are top notch.
Emily, because of you and Aaron and this trip in that lovely little Nova I am getting to relive a precious memory from 40 years ago. Viewing this vista even if only on a computer screen would never become monotonous to me.
Once again Emily and Aaron, thanks for sharing your outstanding drive down the PCH with us, have a great time and be safe.
My first time even near there I remembered Chris Farley line… “VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER” the take away for me is… a STATIONWAGON” by the OCEAN … less man more GOD’s DELICIOUS BEAUTIFUL COUNTRYSIDE! Hope y’all know TIM AND FIN … and KELLY YOUNG …
Kudos for these almost if not daily updated episodes! We appreciate the hard work to get out this content so quickly to share with us !!! Luv y'all..
Have you ever been to Catalina Island? When I lived in Riverside Cali as a teen (80's) we had a house on the island clear at the top of Avalon and the views were awesome and we would stay every weekend though the summer. The seals were so fun to play with (we were told not to but kids you know). The "Airport in the Sky" sits on a mountaintop, 1,602 feet above sea level and drops straight off at each end making for scary take offs and landings in a little cessna.
I use to live in Ventura friends and I use to ride our bicycles from there to Carpenteria and back 3 or 4 times a week. If we were staying the nite we would ride down the hill to Santa Barbara and ride back the next morning that hill was killer getting back up
Emily, I love your lust for life and nature!!! It makes your channel so much more real. Much love to you both!!
Great car and a great trip 👍 👌 👏
I'll take the lunchables every time, but I'd steal some of them baby bells!
5:12 hahaha.. 😂
These roadtrips are the best, especially with a cool vehicle..
it does get tiring after a while especially here with the high taxes, fees and the homeless everywhere who have ruined staying along the ocean highway overnight in an RV in most places, the climate is the only reason im still here would rather be in Texas
I’ll be watching, I’m stuck inside with Covid . Not much to do but feel like crap ,work on guitars ,and watch flying sparks ,vgg, junk yard digs , JonathanW and mustie1 . Bon voyage ,be safe . I’ll be up all night .
Use to work and live at Point Mugu. It pretty famous being that 80 percent of the car commercials you see in ads on TV are shot on the PCH right there at Point Mugu. Miss that place so much.
The fog the eucalyptus so many memories miss calif
Thanks for the wonderful video. I’m 64YO and because of you this trip is on my bucket list PCH route 1
I'm loving this trip. I was a trainee at Ft Ord (near Carmel) in the Fall of 1967. I took a bus trip to San Francisco to see the sights and hitch hiked down the coast back to the Army base. It was so beautiful and I got to meet a lot of nice folks. A US Coast Guard family took me the last 20 miles and dropped my right at the front gate to Ft Ord. It was an adventure I will never forget.
Hey y'all. Love watching you enjoy your trip. Next time you cruise the PCH, the section well north of San Francisco has a wonderful bed & breakfast called Howard Creek Ranch. Check it out online. We stayed in Lucy's room. In the old days when woman got engaged, they tested their diamond ring by trying to write on glass. One window in Lucy's room still has the 100 year old window pane on which Lucy scribed her name with her engagement ring! They also serve and amazing breakfast where everyone sits around the same table, so you can meet people and tells lies.... er, uh stories. Ha ha!
I'm a huge fan of listening to happy people.
This series may well become my go-to "relax at the end of the day" videos. You both seem so thrilled at the whole experience.
And, if it's worth anything Aaron, even this retired minister talks to other drivers. It's probably a good thing my Cruze has a great air-conditioner which forces me to keep the windows rolled up ;-)
Loving the footage. And the lodging costs. Gives one perspective.
🤣😂🤣 something is not equal here… 100% relatable.
Have made the two hour drive to Ragged Point for lunch/dinner many times just because.
Can I tell you my story about Cambria by the Sea? In 1984 my wife and two kids and I headed to L.A. from Colorado Spings. We were driving a 1978 Toyota Corrolla we bought new for window sticker about $4700. Daughter born in '82 and son in '75. We spent a week or two around L.A. and drove down to SanDiego, Salton Sea and into Mexico. We drove thru Beverly Hills and had snobs yell at us to go back to Colorado. I had heard of them doing that to people from Oklahoma, but not Colorado. When we left we up the PCH to her father and stepmothers home in Point Reyes in Marin County, where he owned the Point Reyes Light, a pultzer prize winning newspaper and where the people go tired of the money time and effort to re-elect him mayor so once and for all elected him mayor in perpituity. The PCH at the time, ended in Point Reyes. On our trip up there, wife and daughter were in the back, son and I were in the front. In those winding roads right before Cambria, right before sunset, I came to spot around a curve where the sun was reflecting off the ocean so strong I could see nothing. When we went in the shadow of a pillar of rock I could see I was in the oncoming lane in front of an 18 wheeler lumbering up the grade. We were both going slow enough that all that was hurt on the truck was a fender that had to be pried out and the bumper too, on one side. Our toyota was a sad totalled mess. No one hurt more than scratches and bruises for us in the front seat, back seat not hurt at all, just shook up. The truck driver was exteremly kind. He was from just south of us in New Mexico. When the HP got there I was sure I was in for a ticket, but no. He gave none! The wrecker was on the way for the car. He took us into Cambria. They treated us like you wouldn't believe great. Like honored guests even! The whole town. They gave and I mean gave us a room. Took us down and we got everything out of the car, and we loved that little car. They said this happened all the time and showed us news paper articles. About once a week or so. Many much worse results than ours. Cambrian people had come together to rally around those in our predicament. We called my father-in-law and he started on his way to get us in his 1966 white Malibu, which caught on fire on the way back to S.F. (minor, easily fixed). I had been stationed at the Presidio in the sixties and had stayed with them, so I knew my way around. We rented a new car in S.F. and headed home, stopping for awhile at my cousins in Sacremento.
I had been looking to trade the Toyota in on a new 3 series BMW in springs and they wanted to give me $2500
for it. Since the wreck was in Cali and the car was worth a lot more there, the insurance gave me $4500 on a six year old car that was $4700 new. Win win!
You're not running out of additives....you are the QUEEN!!
Just want to drop a minute and say you two remind me so much of me and my 2nd Jen. (Married to two Jennifers). We couldn’t pass a kite store on our trips to the coast she’d get a whirly gig or gazing ball for the yard, I’d get a kite. The cheese and crackers comparison made me BWAHAHAHA
But I do love those baby bells with the wax. Y’all didn’t mention Gilroy the garlic capital of the world so you probably didn’t drive through there. Anyway I’m rambling…. love your vids,, I wish “Gretchen” (my 68 GTO ) and Roxy could meet in person someday. Keep loving life and enjoy each other to the fullest. Tomorrow is never promised 😜
I'm definitely loving Nana... Stay blessed guys
those WET MORNINGS is why the GRAPES in that area make good wine ;)
Thanks Emily and Aaron for sharing another wonderful ride down PCH . Have a great evening ✌️
You NEED to stop at the Mt Madonna Inn.
If you do, get ready for a "Pink overload" and definitely check out the Men's bathroom...
Even if rooms etc might be a bit pricey, the memories are priceless! I hope you keep having a fantastic time! 😛
// Much love from Sweden! 😁👍
Marine layer aka early morning low clouds... burns off about noon. It is a function of something called thermal inversion...❤ Your viewers should know that the weather is the same year round, the winter evenings can get chilly...L A is my home town
Great that you got to stay in Moonstone Beach, one of the nicest stops along the coast. We spent 8 nights at San Simeon Beach State campground over Labor Day. What a great spot. Looking forward to the next episode.
Awesome car & I love your videos. Keep up the great work. You make an old retired sailor smile.
The car loves you ❤
Awesomeness 😊 thanks for sharing where you are so I can track you guys on google maps. You’re making my day with this journey. 👍
Today we’ll make it into LA! We left Cambria this morning!
I had a 1963 Nova 4 door many years ago. I am really regretting letting people talk me into selling it. One of these days I'll get another one. Thanks for sharing this trip with us.
Loads of memories from my trip over there a few years back (2015), that's "outstanding", as Denis Collins would say ;). It looks like prices are skyrocketing though, as I was able to spend a night in a decent hotel (ok, no view, and not on the PCH in Big Sur area, but more in Santa Cruz or Monterey) for around 100 bucks back then, and it was even during Car Week. Glad you can afford it... Enjoy!
Great vid, cool car. In 1965 my great grandmother and grandmother drove from MA to Montana and back in thier 1963 Nova and took tons of pics along the way.. little cars can pull off big adventures...
You two are doing the same route my wife and I did a couple of years ago when wev picked up our Sedan Delivery. Nice to relive our trip thank you Enjoy.
“Much to be grateful for”
When I was in the service a group of us would pike in a car and cruise up and down the PCH. We never got tired of it, and we took several trips up and down the coast.
Thank you for sharing your trip. It stirred a lot of awesome memories for me.
The same type of trip through the Cascades is worth it too. There are lots and lots of small "lodges" that you can stay in or camp at.
Emily some of the prettiest Pacific coast is on the Oregon coast.
Great views, great food, fun car whats not to love about this adventure! Thanks for taking us along.
We stayed at the Cambria Inn last year...wish I could upload a pic of the sunset! Enjoying your trip almost as much as you two.😎
No it's nice to watch all of the coast.thanks
Glad you found time to enjoy 805 beer. Pretty nice.
Great work Emily, I've been hooked on these episodes from day one. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us.
Really enjoying your adventures. Flew into SF and drove the PCH 30+ yrs ago. Stopped at the Monterey Jazz Festival along the way. Great memories. Btw…I’m a ‘64 model too and have creeks, squeaks & leaks too 😂
Just a thought if your leaving the car in La for a couple days maybe pop the rotor out of the distributor and put the cap back on she to easy to steal
We plan to do that for sure!
You were fortunate that editing work delayed your departure until the fog lifted. Sometimes ghosts of ancient shipwrecked mariners are known to wander around in the fog! There was a documentary about that. Love your videos!
my mom had a '64 chevy Nova II, loved that car.
You’ll need to go back and cruise the isle of giants!
If you all are going to be in L.A. Why not go see more site's and drive on out to the duct tape drags? There are hot springs, parks, painted rock, ghost towns, antaglios geoglyphs, oak creek canyon, Havasupia falls (beyond amazing), living zoo, kit peak observatory, titan missile museum, mine tours, old Tucson studios (Follow their program). Then go racing. 😆
I live in the Bay Area and drive/fly that section of the coast all the time. It never gets old.
You've done a great job making a highlight reel of Highway 1, even if you missed getting a pic of Nana on Bixby Bridge.
Love your car and the drive thanks for sharing my wife wants to drive that hwy. It’s on the bucket list.
I love the realness and positive outcome you guys Rock.
Rob Newzealand 💚🤘
Looks like an old Nova ad!! When you took pictures of your car on the side of the PCH.
Beautiful drive on PCH, thanks for sharing! My youngest daughter lives along the central coast (San Luis Obispo) and the mornings along the coast are usually covered by the “marine layer” (fog). It will typically dissipate by 10am, depending on where you are. Be safe and enjoy the beautiful landscape and wildlife.
Love your enthusiasm! Looks like a fun trip.
you mix so well a old car purchase vacation and road trip thank you for make these video im from montreal and so far away
Should have visited Hearst Castle! Missed out on such a cool and beautiful place
Emily and Aaron. Thank you for this series of posts of your drive down PCH. I have enjoyed watching your trip in your “cute little Nova”. Today my wife and I are driving PCH from LA to Monterey. Thanks again. Have safe journeys.
Awesome country side, glad yous got to enjoy the day's, all the best to yous and your loved ones
I have been driving this road 2 times and it is fantastic. From the view to the smell of it. Greetings from Sweden
Incredible journey & scenery, hope the ole nova holds up.
Just keep enjoying your awesome trip .
It’s better to be looked over than overlooked
Great show!
I've been to California years ago San Diego and Los Angeles but I never got to go to any of the outline communities or do some of the cool gigs like this back in my day you can make a whole vacation out of just going up and down the PCH doing motorcycle trips down to PCH was pretty cool too although they don't do that much anymore it's pretty cool and thanks for sharing it with us really enjoying this content not that we don't enjoy your other content we just like hanging out with you guys with car gig and all the places you're going and just having a good time
Cool trip and car. Thanks for sharing.
I made that trip first on 1969 in a truck and camper and later in 3 different motorhomes. Back then it was not a problem finding places to camp. By 2000 it was almost impossible to find anyplace without a reservation. I probably made that trip 20 or 25 times over the years yet still enjoyed your trip
I am amazed at the road trip series. Impressive as it gets. Thank you.
Sweet Nana! Such a trooper up and down those roads. Such a beautiful ride
Pure poetry! You are such a natural presenter and film maker, beats any UK travel programme!
Thanks for bringing us along on your trip! That was great, y'all!✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
Wow! Just Wow!! No better way to cruise the PCH than in a vintage Nova. Great video's, now I want to cruise the PCH....
I think they're just chillin on a beach in LA, living their best life. As they should. Enjoy this life while you can. It doesn't last forever! Love y'all!
Love the content, love that car from a bygones Era. Cars from then where the best. It's like your taking us on a time warp. Enjoying every episode. Please be careful. Thank's Kenny.
Driving the PCH never gets old!
Aw man such a fun trip! My wife and I stayed at the Fogcatcher Inn for the first night of our honeymoon, then went down to Pismo for a few days. The area from Avila Beach at the south and Cambria to the north is my favorite area of the state, so pretty and chill.
what fun you guys are having
When you get back to Texas be sure to properly wash off all that salt air, especially underneath, just blast it real good because you don't want it rusting to pieces over the next few years. Trust me, I come from the beaches.
I follow you daily. (from Mass.) If I have another glass of wine, I may ask you to trade the '64 for my '13 Nissan Juke. lol. Take good care.
Emily and Aaron, thank you for letting us enjoy this beautiful journey with you.
I could watch the both of you all day.longer videos would not bother me one bit.🙃
I am Danish. Wife and I drive the PCH 5 years back in mid Oct, and were fortunato to also view whales On several spots during the trip….enjoying revisiting with you…..we did not have a beautiful Nova; but still enjoyed
Beautifuls place thanks you
Hope you guys plan on hitting up Morro Bay! Lots of good eats there. CA prices will make you broke in short order though.
Thanks for another cool episode!
Never get boring to me, unforgettable experience ❤
Hope you guys have made it safely home in the Nova. Loved watching this series.
That place is bada**
Chevy II was made for those kind of drives.
Damn what a cool adventure 😎 not needed this morning i guess
I lover the daily (or almost daily) uploads...thank you.
I love the drive along the coast
You drove past my house and through my stomping grounds.
Self vulcanizing rubber tape. Keep it in your toolbox. It's great for temporary leak fixes.
Catch the spider a bug. lt's probably starving. Especially when having to watch ya'll eat all that fresh produce.
Great video keep up the good work God bless from GA stay safe
You two are awesome. If you get the chance visit Hearst Castle. But the trip alone is awesome. Enjoy
ohh ider i had, yall takin the ol camper on the oregon coast and campin, great campground i know is shoreline campground in crescent city and fort stevens in hammond by astoria and a bunch of cool lil ones in between
Glad you enjoyed PCH. Next time out there you need to take in Carmel and Cannery Row. 17 Mile drive is a awesome.
