Emily and Aaron, first and foremost, that is quite a shock about Aaron. He looks like he is recovering nicely. Recovery goes at its own pace. As much as you want to, do not push it. 15 yrs ago, I had a stroke and I pushed the rehab a little too hard. I thought and felt like I was ready to go back to work. I was not, so was put on long term disability. For a long time, I was very self-conscious about the stroke, and did not tell anybody but my closest friends. I did not want anybody to do something for me because they thought I could not do it. Last summer, I received the greatest compliment from an old (60+years ago) friend who I see every 2 to 3 yrs. (He lives on the opposite coast from me). He said he could not tell that I had any after effects left-my humor, curiosity, inquisitiveness, speech pattern, etc were all back to the "old" Tom. So, please take as much time as you need, as you will have many things to work on. In the meantime, if there is anything we can do, please, please let us know!

I happily retired November 1, 2017 and three weeks later my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately, following surgery and treatment she has been cancer free ever since. When we first confronted this a very wise lady in our church sent us a message saying life is an ocean and we are into a storm in the ocean, but it will pass. Emily and Aaron, this is a storm in your ocean of life right now.....but with all the love, support and prayers you all have, it will pass. God bless.

For those that don't know. GM did a weird thing with their coils. The coil should be fed through a ballast resister... For extra boost during startup, GM would run a wire up from the starter motor that effectively by-passed the ballast. That extra wire often gets lost during the years etc. by people who don't understand. So, you jump the ballast resister, get the car started, then un-jump it...

"The darkest night is often the bridge to the brightest tomorrow"-Jonathan Lockwood Huie.
As far as the coil, I made a living working on these cars. Telling my age, I know. There is a 10 Ohm wire that runs from the ignition switch to the coil. After a few years it can get hot losing it's resistance and turning into a solid wire with no resistance. Usually what happens is the points will have a short life and you wind up replacing them at a rapid pace. Sometimes it will take the coil out. You are smart to replace the original with an HEI system.
Hang in there, Thank you for your videos.

I had cancer 3 years ago. Im cancer free now. I went through 4 months of chemo. 2 1 week hospital stays and another month of chemo and radiation. I was out for about a year but i'm back working and living my life. You just keep going and this will pass and make you a stronger person and family. Sometimes you get a slap in the face and get reminded of how fragile life is. Best of luck to you and your family.

I would have loved to have a 283 like yours, but the 6 banger took me from high school and college and Army at Ft. Campbell, KY for 150,000 miles. I put an FM converter on the Motorola radio so at least I had some tunes. Wonderful vehicle--wish I still had it.

Found out I had Prostate cancer in early May. Had a Prostatectomy late August. 10 weeks out of surgery. Back to work now. Trying to learn to live post Prostatectomy. Added 10 years to my life. I know people are struggling with alot more than what happened to me. Give it over to The Lord. He carried me and still does. When I look back over the 5 months. Throughout my ordeal. I can't even believe the amount of tests I had to go through. One hour in a MRI machine. Tested me to the core. Found a fantastic Urologist Surgeon in Indianapolis. Dr. CLINT Baylor at I.U. health Cancer Hospital. Thank you Doctor and your team. Outstanding job. I will always be grateful. Men! Get your PSA blood test. It could save your life. It did mine! Your not the only couple struggling. This is something I rarely talk about. But, you asked to share. So, back on 12 -14-15, I was involved in a work related accident. That ended my career and almost took my life. I was a union bus driver in West Palm Beach. Firstly wasn't my fault. I finished a ten hr run, was returning to base. Was 5 minutes from base, when a guy with a Charger Hellcat. Ran a red-light at over 100 mph nailed me right where I sit. He spun out then hit the rear of the bus. I lost control(steering axle broken) and hit a concrete pole at 45 mph. At this point, I was trapped. My head hit frame and side window. The concrete pole was inside bus inches from my head. If it was 6 inches to the left, it would have killed me. I broke my hand and wrist and most of the flesh was torn off my left arm. I was awake the whole time but bleeding heavily. It took rescue an hour to cut me out. They had to use the jaws of life and cut open the back door to remove me. I'm now in a wheelchair and can barely walk, but I'm still alive. I have multiple health issues relating to and have hospitalized several times. I'm sitting here crying writing this because of how my life has changed. I was a big strong man. My doctor said if it was anyone else. They would be dead, you're lucky your alive. This is what I choose to think about my situation. My poor wife has to wait on me, hand and foot. I'm trying to get an electric wheelchair, but Medicare doesn't pay for it anymore. I don't have strength anymore, yet I have to use a manual wheelchair. I have my pension and SSI, and have sold some property. But an electric wheelchair is 4k dollars out of pocket. I can't afford that and pay my bills. I tried to get organizations that donate wheelchairs. They refused saying I'm not disabled enough. It's disgusting what people have to go through. Oh well, it's sad that by the carelessness of another. My life ends up like this. Yet I still carry on, to the best of my abilities. Which aren't many but I try. I hope this helps someone. Your not alone, thanks Kenny. 🙏

Obviously I have no idea of the specifics, but a few years back I ended up in the cardiology unit for four days as I went into afib and my heart raced between 150-170 until they finally had to manually cardiovert me on the 4th day to get it back into rhythm. I was 42 at the time with no known health issues of any kind. Turns out it was all linked to severe sleep apnea, but it took a couple years to mentally get over that hurdle of experiencing an elevated heart rate again. My wife was absolutely amazing through it all, and her support cannot be championed enough. I wish Aaron a speedy recovery, and thank you for being his rock!

This is exactly why we should treat everybody with a little kindness and a little respect everybody we come across we should treat with honest intentions and kindness because you don't know what the world has in store for you. Next you don't know what the other person that you're talking to or dealing with has going on in there life so that's exactly why everybody should treat somebody with kindness and respect I believe that that would make things a whole lot easier in this world it might even actually take away a lot of the tensions and hatred that are in the world today. I wish you and your family the best I hope everything works out the way you want it to, people like you guys deserve to have the outcome that you want.

Nobody is perfect, nobody should expect some one to be perfect. Being human and true to yourself, in connection with your dearest, makes you and your relations stronger. Even, or most , during the hardest an most vulnerable times, this will make the difference in make or break. Try being empathic, seeing the good intentions… even when all is dark.
I loved what Emily said about writing chapters…please keep writing them… together… as in the most difficult times, brought the most and deepest connections and love at the surface, made the greatest stories and profound memories to remember… so don’t close the book.
Write a new chapter… difficult but grateful in the (hopefully) best for all of you. And wishing you best of all for you and your family. Cherish them, they seem to mean the best for you all, and do care a whole lot for you.
And, Aaron, I hope you may recover soon, on all aspects. And hope you work it out.
We ourselves are for over 35 years together, she had her 6th stroke…a lot of our dreams will remain dreams… but God i love her, and as challenging at it at times, combining work, care, housekeeping and all other stuf… we keep going… having good and bad days… and that’s ok. Because we hope that tomorrow might bring a bit of a better day….it’s tough… but … quitting is no option, as we are as intertwined as can be. And even in the darkest times, we found a spark… maybe not the same hour or or week…. But we always had a strong belief that we were meant for each other, from the first blink of our meeting eyes….and I hope that that will never die.
Stay true to yourself and toe each other, be nice, give room, but come back, and look at what really is important to yourself en each other. Not for what somebody else aspects of you…but just for the 2 of you.
Cherish eachother, take the time you need to discover again what makes you Aaron and Emily…and where you want it to be.
Whisking you time, wisdom, health, and a shitload of love ❤️

At the time for me at first it was really, you're kidding right. Nope not kidding. That was cancer. A yr later spent 3 months with them telling me what I did not have while I could not find a position I could get comfortable in. Could not go to the bathroom, not sit. Stand or lay. Turned out to be some kind of infection that was pertaining my insides in my groin area. Did good after 2.5 months of pumping these little balls of chemicals through a Pic line to my heart for 10 hrs a day. Made it another couple of yrs. to getting my chest busted open and a double bypass open heart surgery. A year later back in for a stint in my heart, and told this other problem is not related so another 11 months dealing with that because they cannot operate on you for 6 months after the stint because they cannot take you off blood thinners to do the surgery.
Finally got all that taken care of and got the paper that said I can go back to work the end of April 2020. Yeah could shuts down a lot and my health being as it was left no job to go back to. In the dumps? Yep. What now. I have been a gear head for a long time. I own a hot Roddenberry harley that is 7 years old with less than 20,000 miles on it. I drove big trucks for 22 years over the road and have seen all the no truck signs more and more. Sooo what now. I left out having back problems since the 80s. Never been one to be told you can't do that. So Easter I get the bike out of the trailer, get it warmed up and go down turn around go the other way a go to turn around and drop the darn thing on my leg. 1 month before I turned 70 I break the crap out of the lower part of my leg, ankle and heel of my left leg. Spiral break made that a bigger problem. 4 months of no pressure on that leg. Sucked big time. But Sept Comes and Me being a hard headed person got on the bike a went on a road trip. Mi., IL. Mo., TN. AR., MO., IL.. got side tracked in IL. As people needed my help that carried me into winter. That was last yr., this year I have done a 2500 mile road trip and the a 1700 mile trip.
If you saw me walk across the room you would say I have no business on a motorcycle. ( probably right ) but I have the bike and love the ride. I am now dealing with nerve damage in my legs. Have had to have help to pick the bike up more than once. Life goes on! We do the best we can at all time. Life changes everyday, we adapt and keep going!!!

I'm sure some days are easier than others, but at some point you'll be able to look back and know, the challenges didn't stop you or break you and that's the important thing. My family and I met you both at power tour 21 in Ohio and you were so kind and just awesome to talk with. My boy got both your signatures on his air cleaner lid and you, Emily, even stopped us and told my family to get together so you could take a picture of us together and we are so grateful for that. Made us feel like part of your family after just a few minutes of interaction. Keep your heads high and your love and support will get you thru even the heaviest storms. The first 6 years of my life was a battle.
I was born at 27 weeks. Had my left lung get damaged when I first took a breath. Spent 120 days in the NICU. At 2 months old ended up with a Tracheotomy due to malpractice.
Had said Tracheotomy for 6 years. Ended up having 11 surgery, finally had it removed when I was 6. My vocal cords are paralyzed in the talk position. It’s made working a challenge to say the least. I’m blessed I’ve been able to work myself into a specific trade where I do not have to do as much physical labor. Growing up I often wondered why me. Why was I the one to have these things happen,
Well I’ve learned that God has me here for a reason. And he’s not done with me yet. Is it hard? Absolutely. But I know with me sticking close to him and following the path he has for me. That it’ll all be ok. I hope this encourages you and Aaron. You guys are in my prayers!

Happy to see an update from you guys. Praying for peace and patience for you guys. Our son was born at 25.5 weeks premature. He spent the first four months of his life in the NICU. It was a roller coaster of good days and bad/scary days. We celebrated the good days and clung to God and family through the touch days. People ask me how we made it through those months and the first year of his life being on oxygen and I tell them that honestly I don’t remember. But God provided for every need we had. Now my soon is about to turn 14 and we call him our miracle because he has no health or delays from being more so premature. God is good.

Many have already expressed my feelings. One lesson I’ve learned from all my experiences is that whatever has happened, something better is ahead. Here’s a song to cheer you two up.
“It’s just the bare necessities, the simple bare necessities. Forget about your worries and your strife”
    It’s out there on RUclips.😎
Love to you both. Be safe, be healthy.
    Thanks,

Glad you are OK. That bit of footage on I60 going through the tunnel is a spot I remember well. I rode my bicycle from San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL several years ago. Just after that tunnel I had a hard struggle getting up that hill and on into Globe where we spent the night. Not the best road for bicycles for sure. Struggles are part of life. You can let them beat you down or face them. The main thing is to get up and keep moving on. I could go on about health issues I've had, but they are all just a part of the journey. Some are difficult to deal with, some I don't share because I don't want or need special treatment.

Will pray for your family. My family had a hard time in 2010. My youngest son (3 years old) was ran over by a lawnmower. It was very hard for me. 2 months in a chuldrens Hospital. Not knowing if he would walk again. I retreated from everything. My wife would watch him during the day and I watched at night. My Church family came alongside and helped. We as a family are a pot stronger now. My sons heel is still a mess, but nothing that you need to walk was damaged. All nerves and tendons did not get cut. That was a blessing from God. He runs just as fast as the other young man has age. Still has pain, but getting better every day.

Retired May 31,2018, Sept. 2018-doctor heard heart murmur and found a distorted mitral valve. Fast forward to July 2022. Routine cardiologist appointment and found heart beating at 167. Admitted to hospital for 4 days with Afib. Mid Sept they did a TEE and heart Cath and decided I needed emergency open heart surgery to repair heart valve, perform a double bypass and fix Afib problem. 4 weeks later and I am in my 3rd week of cardiac rehab and back to working my part time job at a friends Napa store. Little sore and numb in places but kicking ass and taking names. 66 years old and not leaving this planet any time soon. Good luck on the recovery.

First off glad to see you back, missed you two. Life has bumps. And it has cliffs. Got divorced a year after my first marriage. Met a wonderful woman who was with me for 32 years before I lost her to cancer. It seemed like life had no real meaning. Then I reconnected with myself...and a gal I knew in high school. We have been happy for the past four years and look forward to many more. You and Aaron are young, and still together. There will be a long road ahead, some smooth, and a few bumps. He will get healthy again. You stay that way.
BTW, just watched a few older videos of the 280Z. I bought a new one in 1976. I like the LS you dropped in yours, but the original 142MPH was solid.
    Prayers to both of you.

I had a bad dump truck wreck July 20 2004 , had a burst fracture of the L4 vertebra was in the hospital for 5 days and a very very delicate spinal operation to replace various discs that were puncturing my spinal cord along with elbow surgery , various other minor but serious issues. I can say my wife , boys and family are the toughest people on eart. Not to mention my hero's. Since I have built several old dream trucks. Not bad for a guy that had a 50/50 chance of walking again. Not to mention I still drive a dang ol dumper truck. Live , Love and Laugh to the fullest every day ❤

Sorry to hear about that. I had a similar situation when I was 45, 7 years ago. I eat healthy and work out 4-5 days a week but ignored my blood pressure issues for years. I was driving home one day and started to see double vision. I thought it was my eyes and called my doctor. I went in a two days later and by then could barely walk. I was dizzy and felt horrible. They checked my BP and it was 210 over 150. Basically I was about to have a stroke and that may have been it. I was in the hospital for 3 days. I take 4 pills a day now to keep it down.
