Those decals making the panel lines a lighter grey would be enough of a nightmare that I feel like I'd probably end up just masking and painting...otherwise, what an amazing kit...the level of detail with just the kit-supplied parts is second to none. Tamiya really gid a great job with the engineering, and you did an amazing job building it!
I'm reminded that when I do the details like this - I'm only doing it for myself and 99% of the people won't even noticed how much effort went into it :D
Those decals looked like a nightmare. I’m glad Im building the RAAF version & won’t need most of them. Sensational work looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃
I had a few model cars and planes when I was in middle and high school but I sort of got out of it after I graduated high school. You're almost making me want to pick it back up again
I work on this jet and I’m surprised on how detailed the model is i recognize many parts on the inside of the weapons bay and even the outline of all majority of the panels on the outside
As you work on it, I have a question/thought…… the weapons/landing gear bay…….where this modeller has weathered them to resemble oil leaks…. I’m thinking it wouldn’t actually hold much residue where it was weathered in this video as it would be upside down in reality, I would have thought you would get more staining on the bay doors when they’re closed thanks to gravity….do you actually get much staining on the “ceiling” of the bay?
Love there is a pilot figure included and you built it wheels up...like it's flying. I do the same then hang them from the ceiling. Only prop driven planes do I most of the time build sitting on the ground. Wish there was a realistic clearish spinning prop disk for prop types. I'd build them wheels up too!
Geeze, that's a nice model of the Panther. The only thing I'd change is that the EOTs sensor windows are a particular greenish, amber color? Those are quarts windows, and so they do change the light passing through them wierdly. The canopy is like the F-22s. It's got some magic in it for stealth purposes as well, and while it's not golden, it does have a darker shade. A pilot mentioned that the 'panel lines' are the same color. I can confirm they are, I literally work in these things every day , but those panel lines get their differences because of the type of material they are. They're more 'matte' in their reflective properties while the finish on the skins directly is less 'matte', but not very glossy. There's a high scatter with the RAM coatings, so you don't see reflections in it. It's very dull. The panel lines are simply MORE dull. I try to explain it because there may be a way to replicate it via modeling paint mixtures. It's not a color difference. It's a texture difference (basically) and perhaps this may help stir the imagination as to what paint and finishes maybe be used in experiments later.
Here is an idea for a kit bash in the future ....... F35 with the F14 ..... think of the cartoon "Swat Kats" from back in the day and their "Turbo Cat" jet they flown in the series.
I should have done mine stealth/gear-up. But nooo, I had to do gear down, beast mode. So. Many. Tiny. Details. 49.5 hours. -_- Great job man, this is gorgeous.
Nice build only thing is sooo many people get the color wrong. All the panel lines are literally the same color and the stealth gray. Minus a couple here or there. The only reason it looks different is the angle and lighting. Coming from an F-35A driver…
It's because it's a different material. They're entirely different from the rest of the structure but still intended to keep the classified RCS performance you need to keep you safe up there. We do our best, anyways. Glad you're flying the Panther and I hope you like the jet. We put a lot into it.
Just go for the latest version ram coating. The Royal Norwegian Air Force has changed to the new color scheme, much less maintenance. www.fma.no/anskaffelser/kampflyprogrammet/_/attachment/inline/c233fbf0-9075-4361-94fc-6315cade2ba9:f912a876f1ece0f77c3492fe0a46e2df9056b8a8/2019-06-19-F-35A-Kjeller-Airshow-Forsvaret.jpg
I would like to have your talent and hands too, my hans...buld is perfect and video is profi...I love your intro...my shorts are so stupid in front of your creativity🥹...excelent..thank U for super video🤟🏻
Great video MODELBOX and very helpful. I'm a little confused by the kit instructions regards the canopy detonation cord decals. Did you apply them on the inside or the outside of the canopy please?
Looks great. Hate to ruin your day but, the aircraft isnt painted different colors. It just looks that way with how the light reflects off the various panels. Its due to the type of material its coated with and how it reflects the light.
Wow that's a lot of decals, I like the wheels up, did you have to modify anything to build it like that?, great video loved the whole process from start to finish.
Thanks for watching. 😁 If you want to make wheels up position, you have to remove each door’s edge. In my video, I cut that part by art knife. Problem is front landing door. It overlapped to etos clear part.
Incredible details :D I love it! Though I would like to ask why do you use the color decals instead of just painting them? btw... What's the music starting at 9:50?
I thought the features of this kit were decals and weapon bay, so I took care of it and worked on it.😄 The music you asked about is dyalla - organic guitar house.
Can the lacquer paint be painted using a small brush instead like for the nose parts? Or do you have any alternatives for people who don't have spray gun?
May I ask what each colour you use on this F-35? I want to try to build this model kit as my very first military model kit since that I never build and paint before.
@MODELBOX - scale model build link? Lol it's amazing, that's the one thing about aircraft is putting them on the landing gear is like, handicapping them
This is no reflection on you, as your work is masterful. But a lot of the raised detail on that kit looks massively overscale to me. I've seen the real plane both in person and in numerous photos/videos, and they simply do not look like that. It's surprising, coming from Tamiya.
Honestly I dont know why instead of masking sheet for different grey shade, tamiya put it on decal sheet. Big disappointment here. It would be much more friendly for modelers and basically all was prepared, if you think that they have to measure it for decals.
beautiful model , but I think the price is going to put a lot of people off ( £70 - 80 .) especially us pensioners ! £197 a week to live on . why do people paint pilots uniform gloss ??
Jesus Christ how much paint you putting on it and what's with the 15 coats of clear.. Had you done it normally with thin coats of paint built it up, you wouldn't of wiped out the detail on the model. But hey who am i to tell you .
Nice Build but you've made weapons bay way to dirty....not realistic. Sooo many builders over exaggerate the dirt. It's a fine balance. For me a good builder is someone who's reticent with weathering
I don’t think it looks dirty it’s just got so much contrast like the panel liner is so dark compared to the white weapons bay it just stands out too much and looks cartoony it wouldn’t look that weird if the fuselage also had the same amount of panel liner
I’m not a modeller…….but worked on aircraft all my life. That is superb work.
Those decals making the panel lines a lighter grey would be enough of a nightmare that I feel like I'd probably end up just masking and painting...otherwise, what an amazing kit...the level of detail with just the kit-supplied parts is second to none. Plasmo, Scale-A-Ton, A4 Garage & ModelBox, best scale modelers on RUclips!!
I whole heartedly agree with those picks. You should also check out Car Model Channel as well. His McLaren is next level.

Thank you for your praise.
Scale model aircraft, scale hangar 182, jun mini garage, jh hobby, scale modelling channel, luke towan, minibricks, and many more!!!

One of the cleanest builds of these model I've seen so far.

You're a brave man for using those decals. Nicely done!
I know right!!!! someone needs to come out with a masking set fast...
I try
They looked pretty bad, should just use paint.
Amazing build! Great editing and attention to detail. Subbed!
This level of detail is incredible! Absolutely stunning!
I had a few model cars and planes when I was in middle and high school but I sort of got out of it after I graduated high school. You're almost making me want to pick it back up again
That is an absurd amount of decals. I have this kit and I think it will stay in the box after seeing this.
Start little by little👍
those weapons bays are just brilliant
amazing job ,well done. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these
Awesome, who would have thought so much detail work would be necessary for a sleek modern jet!
That’s what I’m saying
I work on this jet and I’m surprised on how detailed the model is i recognize many parts on the inside of the weapons bay and even the outline of all majority of the panels on the outside
What a surprise!👍

Holy shit that Tamiya mold for the weapons bay is beautiful. Not to mention your work too! Amazing kit, and amazing build up my friend.
Awesome work!
It makes so happy to see so much care into my favorite Fighter Jet!
Love to hear that! Thanks😁
Amazing work!!!
Really good detail and work. Can you tell me what paints you used to paint the outside of the aircraft, the engine and the cockpit? Thank you!

Those decal markings are completely over the top... you should replicate the RAF version...much more dignified

You can do it!
Great job. Fortunately you don't need all those RAM decals for new F-35s. It's the same colour as the fuselage.
Awesome job! This looks like an amazing kit and you really made it pop. You have inspired me to go buy one! Thanks for sharing!
Let's make it step by step.
Nice build only thing is sooo many people get the color wrong. All the panel lines are literally the same color and the stealth gray. Minus a couple here or there. The only reason it looks different is the angle and lighting. Coming from an F-35A driver…
Nice to meet you driver😁
Tried to emphasize it in a small scale model, I use a dark color.

you make it look easy

amazing, however.. is there a mask to paint the light gray details? thise stickers would drive me mad and i wouild never finish such a project

Can the lacquer paint be painted using a small brush instead like for the nose parts? Or do you have any alternatives for people who don't have spray gun?
Especially in the case of airplane models, I think it's too difficult to paint without an airbrush or can spray because of the brush marks.

I feel like it would have been easier to just mask and paint those surface details, instead of dealing with all those silly decals.
There are parts that are easy to decal, and there are parts that are easy to mask. I think masking would be better for the upper fuselage.😁
