Time-setting instructions: pull crown out to position 2 and roll the crown slowly to the desired time, push crown back in and it will run.
Additional remarks: watch is original, contains no replacement parts but for handmade strap & aftermarket buckle
History / background:
The Seiko LM was produced from its first year in July 1968 well into the late 1970s. The first models were produced without the LM logo on the dial. From late 1969 onwards, the LM models had the LM logo. The inclusion of the logo was still not consistent and did vary over the years. There were actually 4 variations of this model, including 2 different bracelets and 2 different hand sets, one with inlay and one without. The base movement for the LM is actually the 56 base from King Seiko, which was up market and very sleek (thin) for that period. The 36mm case was rather sizable for that period and still wears nice for the current era in my opinion. The hacking function is very useful to set the time precisely and check the accuracy of the timekeeping. The earlier models of LM were solid casebacks, including the 5606-7000, which provided better waterproofing compared to screw back case backs of that time.
