Pole to the Karumbas. This story is heartbreaking. My late mum had a major kidney failure mpaka mwili ikafura like that fish that furas and she was already bidding us bye because she knew she wasn't going to see the next day but Mungu ni mwema she was put on dialysis for 2 years and alipona. We never did pay for any dialysis not medication because Mum was covered by NHIF and she would go for the dialysis at Karen Hospital. Uzuri nowadays there are so many dialysis centres one of them being Medanta Africare on the 2nd Floor, NHIF Building, Upperhill. What took her away was cancer! So, for Joy this is just but a passing cloud. God will see her through. If they're planning to have the transplant outside the country, they could seek assistance from Africare as they have a hospital in India where referral would be easy & cheap. We pray for Joy's full recovery and testimony that God Did 🙏
This is so true ..in my own opinion currently working in a dialysis unit, having witnessed 3 patients so far fully recovered from chronic kidney disease from Kenyatta, one is a 13 year old girl.I would prefer the transplant to be done at Kenyatta hospital, considering medications after the transplant they will be accessible here in the country unlike if the transplant is done in India.

But through kidney replacement therapy, either dialysis or transplant one can control. Transplant being the best treatment, cost-effective and high quality of life. What the patients at the dialysis unit probably is kidney injury at initial stages which is reversible (but not always). ❤

It is truly a story of resilience and determination. This reminds me of my high school life. I saw God answer prayers while talking to him like a fellow human😊. I remember the last day I told him, "Dear God if you're not giving me school fees for Kitondo School, tell me I repeat class eight." A few minutes later, a sponsor called through my sister, and the following day, I went for my admission letter.
