My highlight playing osu over the years is definitely when i was in his offline Twitch chat along other people, and Cookiezi asked if anyone wanted him to spectate them as he was eating, and I was very luckily chosen and he was spectating me for a while!! i was shaking a lot but it was such an surreal experience!

I miss my days of when I started osu When people joke about hard songs being cookiezi warmup (like centipede) When maps like toumei elegy, quaver, rubik's cube, My Love and Big Black was the famous maps The pro scene was like cookiezi, idke, vaxei, rafis, rrtyui Miraie made osu videos The time when cookiezi reign were the golden days, I just remember the time like 3 years ago when my friends were talking about how good cookiezi was and I asked who he was and they said he is the number 1 player in the world.
Cookiezi will always be the goat. There was 100x more competition for #1 back in the day than there is today because the map pool was a lot smaller and the maps were not optimized for PP like they are today. Every #1 Contender in the last few years either just stops playing or just isn't interested in competing (vaxei, whitecat, merami, even mrekk burnt out for a long time). Look at his godmodes from 6-10 years ago and some of them are only now getting surpassed and also consider that he did these plays on garbage specs when we were all playing on potatos with 60hz
Its crazy how cookiezi gets off for months even years and is just as good as he left.....THEN theres me I get off for more than a week I come back and cant even do 5* maps gotta love it (My best play is 348pp)

I started playing right after he got banned. I got so sad watching his pre-ban videos, because I wouldn't be able to witness all those godly scores. When he was unbanned I got so freaking happy. I got to see many epic scores live (either in spec, Twitch, OpenRec), such as Image Material, Everything Will Freeze, Blue Zenith +HR then +HDHR, Freedom Dive +HR then +HDHR, and so many other cool scores. everyone always compare cookiezi to whitecat and vaxie, let me tell you guys.. the greatest doesn't mean the best, and the best doesn't mean the greatest.. if you don't understand what im sayin, the best is a technical category that goes down to strict measurables. the greatest is a subjective category that takes into account a player's overall impact and their overall legacy. and now you know without argue thats why cookiezi is the greatest player of all time just by witness his legacy.
I see why Vaxei would be compared to Shige due to his absolute unrivaled domination in 2019 and 2020, but comparing WhiteCat to Shige is just dumb. Players like Shige broke the rules, were years ahead of their time. WhiteCat, appart from pp farming and 30 second 10* jumps, never was number 1 in anything in the game, nearly every player who reached number 1 in history was more ahead of their time (except a few cases like FreddieBenson). Not saying WhiteCat is a bad player at all, don’t get me wrong. To my mind he’s actually the second best player of 2020. But he sure doesn’t have the advance, nor the mindset, to be a true number 1 in my opinion, plus his fanbase is the absolute worst, his fans are so toxic, and he really popularized pp farming which is why the leaderboard is so shitty today.
he plays unsubmitted and unranked maps which unheard of so it's no wonder. he got too many problems physically which holds him back. also it feels like he doesn't really like that much attention so he only plays non-lb maps (except qualified maps). after all, he doesn't really cares about pp like what in the video stated.

But anyway, any 1minute map with a jump hardpart at 280bpm gives more PP than one requiring a very good unstable rate, a lot of stamina and selfcontrol during 5 minutes, nice Peppy well done
I’ve been watching OSU streams lately but had never in my life played the game. This guy is literally a god. And the nice part about it is that people actually look up to him, he’s not a bad guy.
Thanks to you a huge amount of Osu history is now recorded in this video and preserved for the future otherwise it would have been lost and forgotten happy to see this and to hear cookiezi being mentioned again from the day that i started in 2015 i had huge respect for Cookiezi as the best player in the world and was inspired to be just like him.
Similar things happened for jhlee0133, who is still known as one of the best mania player to this day. Due to unfortunate conflicts, he retired from the game on 2017, but after two years he came back (similar to shige, he went live on twitch randomly) and showed absolute legendary performances. What a mysterious events happening for the best players of Osu -as their fan tho, I am so glad that both came back :3

Cookiezi will always be the goat. There was 100x more competition for #1 back in the day than there is today because the map pool was a lot smaller and the maps were not optimized for PP like they are today. Every #1 Contender in the last few years either just stops playing or just isn't interested in competing (vaxei, whitecat, merami, even mrekk burnt out for a long time). Look at his godmodes from 6-10 years ago and some of them are only now getting surpassed and also consider that he did these plays on garbage specs when we were all playing on potatos with 60hz
Its crazy how cookiezi gets off for months even years and is just as good as he left.....THEN theres me I get off for more than a week I come back and cant even do 5* maps gotta love it (My best play is 348pp)

i started playing osu! more than a month ago and tbh, i had no clue this guy even existed until a few days ago. It would've been nice to be able to witness these events but oh well. I can still look upto him i guess :D

I started playing right after he got banned.
I got so sad watching his pre-ban videos, because I wouldn't be able to witness all those godly scores. When he was unbanned I got so freaking happy. I got to see many epic scores live (either in spec, Twitch, OpenRec), such as Image Material, Everything Will Freeze, Blue Zenith +HR then +HDHR, Freedom Dive +HR then +HDHR, and so many other cool scores.

everyone always compare cookiezi to whitecat and vaxie, let me tell you guys.. the greatest doesn't mean the best, and the best doesn't mean the greatest.. if you don't understand what im sayin, the best is a technical category that goes down to strict measurables. the greatest is a subjective category that takes into account a player's overall impact and their overall legacy. and now you know without argue thats why cookiezi is the greatest player of all time just by witness his legacy.

I see why Vaxei would be compared to Shige due to his absolute unrivaled domination in 2019 and 2020, but comparing WhiteCat to Shige is just dumb. Players like Shige broke the rules, were years ahead of their time. WhiteCat, appart from pp farming and 30 second 10* jumps, never was number 1 in anything in the game, nearly every player who reached number 1 in history was more ahead of their time (except a few cases like FreddieBenson).
Not saying WhiteCat is a bad player at all, don’t get me wrong. To my mind he’s actually the second best player of 2020. But he sure doesn’t have the advance, nor the mindset, to be a true number 1 in my opinion, plus his fanbase is the absolute worst, his fans are so toxic, and he really popularized pp farming which is why the leaderboard is so shitty today.

he plays unsubmitted and unranked maps which unheard of so it's no wonder. he got too many problems physically which holds him back. also it feels like he doesn't really like that much attention so he only plays non-lb maps (except qualified maps). after all, he doesn't really cares about pp like what in the video stated.

i'm not saying HDDT players are not good, but i'm saying that long technical maps need way more stamina and expertness, and therefore the why his plays are more impressive and damn popular, and that's not so easy to achieve for top players :^)

The thing with cookiezi is that he was setting scores which were far beyond the level of top players at the moment ex : fdfd FC in 2013 (at the time 1000 combo was fking huge) image material FC, fdfd HDHR (actually Only karthy could do that right now), blue zénith hr akatsuki zukuyo nobore daisuke etc

I will always, always wonder about the Yomi Yori "what if." A 1k pp play, two and a half years early. That is absolutely absurd. Yes, it's been FC'd, but still. A 1k pp play in 2017, completely shattering the pp record and straight up ignoring 900 pp as well? That will always be the saddest lost timeline for me.

A thing I don't tolerate anymore, is when some guys who lately joined around 2018 affirm that our lovely Shigetora is now outdated by yoday's players and their average pp scores. But anyway, any 1minute map with a jump hardpart at 280bpm gives more PP than one requiring a very good unstable rate, a lot of stamina and selfcontrol during 5 minutes, nice Peppy well done

Thanks to you a huge amount of Osu history is now recorded in this video and preserved for the future otherwise it would have been lost and forgotten happy to see this and to hear cookiezi being mentioned again from the day that i started in 2015 i had huge respect for Cookiezi as the best player in the world and was inspired to be just like him.

Similar things happened for jhlee0133, who is still known as one of the best mania player to this day. Due to unfortunate conflicts, he retired from the game on 2017, but after two years he came back (similar to shige, he went live on twitch randomly) and showed absolute legendary performances. What a mysterious events happening for the best players of Osu -as their fan tho, I am so glad that both came back :3
