Problems with Drugs and Crime in Kensington Ave, Philadelphia
In Philadelphia as a whole, violent crime and drug abuse are major issues. The city has a higher rate of violent crime than the national average and other similarly sized metropolitan areas. The drug overdose rate in Philadelphia is also concerning. Between 2013 and 2015, the number of drug overdose deaths in the city increased by 50%, with more than twice as many deaths from overdoses as homicides. 2 Kensington's high crime rate and drug abuse contribute significantly to Philadelphia's problems.
Because of the high number of drugs in the neighborhood, Kensington has the third-highest drug crime rate by neighborhood in Philadelphia, at 3.57. The opioid epidemic has played a significant role in this problem, as it has in much of the rest of the country. Opioid abuse has skyrocketed in the United States over the last two decades, and Philadelphia is no exception. In addition to having a high rate of drug overdose deaths, 80% of Philadelphia's overdose deaths involved opioids, and Kensington is a significant contributor to this figure. This Philadelphia neighborhood is said to have the largest open-air heroin market on the East Coast, with many neighbors migrating to the area for heroin and other opioids. With such a high concentration of drugs in Kensington, many state and local officials have focused on the neighborhood in an attempt to address Philadelphia's problem.

I think these videos should be shown in high schools every Monday and Friday.
No one would listen or watch the videos, they are to wrapped up in their search for pronouns, and the socialist way of life! This country is gone!

This is such a sad and real reality in Kensington and I’m sure other cities and states Are used to walk down the avenue 1 Bridge St. as a child and now to see it is like walking dead. I pray for these people I pray that kind hearts and people that care will see these people as people in their hearts will be touched to get help! I know with the mentally ill they have closed many hospitals in the state of New Jersey which is difficult for the mentally ill! We need people to come together in prayer and empowered to help these people there’s somebody’s children somebody’s mother somebody’s father🙏🙏🙏
We need someone like Mayor Rizzo back to clean up the streets and get these people the help they need. Social services should be down there every day helpiing these people. Our mayor doesn't care.

Pay no attention to people that say prayer doesn't work. Most of them prayed to win the lottery with selfish motives didn't win and now say it doesn't work. You create the world you live in by the words spoken out of your mouth regularly that "You" believe. The large majority of these people on the street many times over in different situations said "If I don't do this or that I'm gonna end up on the streets", "if I don't do this or that I'm gonna end up on the streets". If this happens I'm gonna end up on the streets. At this point, they have opened the door to the devil to bring these circumstances into their lives and when it happens they end up on the street and can not figure out for the life of them how it happened and they will never think to draw the connection of what happened to them to what they said for the last 5 years and how it brought them to this point. This is how effective the devil is at what he does. As far as prayer goes most people wouldn't give Jesus the time of day unless they are in dire need, they get in a jam and then want to pull Him out of the bottle they keep Him in, have Him make it better, and then stuff Him back in so they don't have to have a relationship with Him where they are accountable to Him and actually live for Him the way they are supposed to. Prayer will not override the will of another human being you can pray for someone to get saved which we should but in the end, it's their choice and they will answer good or bad for that choice our responsibility is to pray and witness if told to by God. When people tell you that prayer doesn't work, they are telling you that they have no relationship with God. God will not force anyone to do anything if He did He would just make everyone get saved and no one would go to hell.
Capitalist society is terrible. In the struggle for survival, like animals, people lost their human appearance and trampled on the weak and the poor.

Yes, it makes me sad to see this. Although I appreciate you making these videos, I must disagree with you blaming everyone and everything and not them. I understand everything you said is true to an extent, but one must be held accountable for your own destiny. I grew up poor in a bayou town in Louisiana surrounded by drugs and alcohol and poor education. Parents work long hours and were never home to lead us on the right path. Yes, we had a roof over our heads and shoes on our feet. So did they. I barely graduated high school. I work hard for little wages but I made it today. Now 47 owning two houses and a beautiful family. If I can make it in my situation, most can. I am sure how I grew up was not very different from them. That being said, I hope them the best and find a way out and live a better life.

Sure, and you can pay for it out of your own pocket. The US government has always had corruption but now it is TOTALLY corrupt. Most drug addicts/alcoholics have no work ethic; they want to get high and stay high. Rehabs that make THEM WORK, picking crops, cleaning streets and so forth is a possible solution. Talk therapy is an expensive luxury that has its limits. One of the first things that the Communist Chinese army did when they won in 1949, was to KILL all the opium addicts and prostitutes. You can only help those few degenerates who no longer WANT to be degenerates. I suggest you learn how to think; it will be a new experience.

I find it interesting(although sad) how people in this situation get comfortable in that lifestyle circumstance.There is a price to pay for staying the same way and there is a price to pay for real,lasting change for the good....
If they were comfortable they wouldn't need to get high, we need to find children that are abused, neglected, mentally ill as children before they fall through the cracks.
A lot of people that start using heroin/opiates have no idea what withdraw is gonna feel like,and often times won’t find out until after they’re already addicted,and at that point,they’re gonna adapt to those types of living conditions and will do whatever they need to do to feel good again and it becomes a vicious cycle that’s hard to stop.
This people are victms of their own substance abuse sad to see this people in a geat nation.

Same issue as Vancouver BC Canada but thank you for mentioning the hygiene issue which no one mentions here except to simply mention 'lack of facilities'. We used to have porta-potties lined up on the street - no surprise & despite DAILY cleaning by service provider; syringes, sanitary products, mixing cups & ties, etc. Toilet paper removed, etc. Unfortunately in more ways than one, a woman had a miscarriage in the bathroom so a better way to monitor the problem had to be addressed.
Horrifying for tourists who frequently get turned around - you've come off a cruise line only to come across rampant drug use, overdosing or having some type of 'fit' from crack, methamphetamines, etc. So very sad no matter what city & location. Pray for everyone!

I live in Louisville Ky. Homelessness and adduction are rampant here these days. You have to really make a lot money here these days to afford a decent place to live. For this reason; almost no one can afford to rent their own apartment. Nearly everyone in this city, who isn't an addict; has a roommate. My nephew is addicted to fentinol; still lives with his mom.
The fact that with mom is nothing. She needs your support. She is probably old. Fight. You are a worthy person. Maybe it makes sense to move to another state. If it is possible to work via the Internet and move to another country, many do so because life is cheaper in other countries.

A futuristic advanced treatment would be to gather all these people who are deep in drugs, and put them in cryostasis in medical pods for 6 months in a massive facility to allow their bodies to heal, muscle stimulation and nutritional supplement and while they are asleep, remove all memories of all drug use and experience as if they never touched those things to begin with. And when they wake up their bodies are healthy and ready, they still have their original memories of who they are and where they came from. I know its science fiction but nice to believe and imagine a unreachable solution. However in reality mankind are evil and greedy, and if there is no way to profit from it, then it wont happen.
