A "spy movie" of a different kind of SPEED is "Hopscotch" with Walter Matthau. It is a hilarious movie but not really a comedy. It just highlights another angle of "US three letter agencies" and why they arent the good guys they pretend to be.
The Bourne Trilogy of Identity, Supremacy and Ultimatum are just superb movies. Everyone of these as good as each other. A fantastic franchise.
Glad you are getting to this franchise...hope you will see all five movies, including the one Bourne Legacy (the one without Matt Damon, discounted by many because of that but to my mind, still a good movie)
Jason’s apt in Paris…you mentioned that there were no pictures on the walls. I think that many single guys, who spend most of their time working in a foreign country, don’t hang pictures. I know I didn’t while serving in the USAF and stationed in 1: England, 2: Germany, 3: Turkey. Had an apt in each location for 2 years and never hung 1 picture. really didn’t spend a lot of time at the apartments as I was out checking the sites. The apt’s just became a place to shower and crash……but I saw and did a lot of stuff and wouldn’t change a thing. Cheers
Matt Damon was trained in Kali and some Jeet Kune Do for the melee fighting scenes. That would kind of explain the speed at which the fights took place.
As a bookworm, you should definitely read the Bourne Identity novels by Robert Ludlum. Very different from the movies. Don't get me wrong. I love the movies. But the books are better.
They are on my growing list of books to read. I think I have like 30 on my wishlist right now.
@@AwesomeUSMovies ... as long as you have the SPACE to expand your library.
Ask any book person if "running out of shelf-space" has EVER stopped them from buying more books. (*LOL*)
Yes, that's Franka Potente. From Run Lola Run.
She's in "Blow" too, with Johnny Depp
Marseilles is pronounced mar-say.
Edit: It's a trilogy y'know. Some of your questions may even be answered.
my chinese wife hates french for such reasons. every french based word in english is her enemy.
If you do the whole series, please please please don't skip The Bourne Legacy. It's great.
Fuckin THANK you. Finally somebody with a mother fucking brai .
@@REALAMERICANMAN531 Goes to show how intelligent of a BRAIN these Legacy fans have.
Absolutely awesome Jason Bourne trilogy.
Love watching your videos. This trilogy is my favorite.
Think of it as
1 Bourne identity
2 Bourne Supremecy
2.5 Bourne Ultimatum (my fav)
The Ultimatum is more of a 2.5 than a straight 3rd installment. Another words the 3rd movie picks up like halfway through the 2nd instead of picking up where the 2nd one ended. It sounds rough but trust me its awesome.
Cant wait for more reactions 👍🤘
Jeremy Renner did a great job in The Bourne Legacy too.
@@katrinacash6393 I definitely agree! That movie got a bad wrap but it really was good. Jason Bourne the 4th was great too.
Yo, don't tell him about the 3rd meshing with the 2nd! Sheesh, did you know that when you saw it?
10:20ish - ex Civil Service IT guy here. Yes, the Government/Civil Service uses the oldest OS it can because it’s also the most secure. Most of the vulnerabilities have been found and dealt with. I know that Microsoft were paid a lot of money to keep supporting obsolete OS’s long after it was withdrawn from other users precisely because of this
They also dont really need fancy graphics for the data processing and storing, which is a rather simple stuff. There are obviously times when videos are used, but it is entirely possible to have a separate computer hooked up to the same network for just that kind of purpose.
The three words that every woman wants to hear: "Please keep talking". 🤣
@@katrinacash6393 Oh god, I'd run away lol
... and any man uttering those is MAD or DESPERATE ... unless he also has the "OFF switch".
@@Muck006 Probably alone too.
You should really watch the other two movies in this trilogy.
If you rewatch the ending when he shows up to meet the girl, you can see the red duffle bag that he had been carrying around the whole movie being used as a planter.
The actor that played Cochlin was also in "October Skys". A really good movie if you haven't seen it.
I believe the Bourne franchise completely revamped how action movies are portrayed now.
That 'little itty bitty car' (the mini) used to win against powerful rally cars in races due to its stability and power to weight ratio. It may be small, but is not a joke!
14:33: "..that's a very little car without much horsepower.." That Sir is a Mini Cooper. And if the one in the movie used is the Mini Cooper S, it is BUILT for racing! In fact it won the Monte Carlo Rally race three times during the 1960's. It's still in production (now owned by BMW). The car is also featured prominently in the 2003 remake of the 1969 movie "The Italian Job" starring Mark Wahlberg. Hope you watch it soon!
Current ones are shit compared to the old, small ones.
A quiet, dangerous man traverses Europe with a pretty woman in a small car wreaking havoc - that is also the plot of Mr Bean's Vacation 😉 which you would laugh yourself silly through
Though Rowan Atkinson doesn't play a spy in that one, he does in the Johnny English movies 😎
I have the same shirt you have on. Excellent.
Love the content. It's so relaxing, fun, and nostalgic going back and watching all these movies. Your edits are great because I get to relive the experience without the time commitment of a whole movie. Have you considered doing a video about you, I'd love to hear about your days as a farmer and about all those books you read.
Check out my Q&A sessions, have have several of them at this point. I do book segments in each
@@AwesomeUSMovies thanks!
Very nice catch on Marie being in Run Lola Run. Cool movie and I own the soundtrack. One of the assassins, the one he kills in the field is in a movie you might like called Children Of Men. His name is Clive Owen. In quite a few movies but that one is well regarded. As I told you recently to get ready for the shaky camera in the next Bourne movie.
Great reaction. Very enjoyable. The first three Bourne movies are good.
Glad you enjoyed
This is why I subscribe. Cause I'm particular about who I let influence me. How does it feel being an influencer now.
I hope I just influence people to have a laugh and read more. Thanks for the sub. I try not to push my political views. To each there own.
This started out as a trilogy but became 5 movies. After the trilogy came Bourne Legacy that takes place during the trilogy and then there is Jason Bourne.
Hope its not a spoiler for anything.
21:23 ghoul sighting
Glad you enjoyed this, it’s one of my favorite set of movies. There are 4 (sort of 5) Bourne movies all based on Robert Ludlum novels. Guessing they weren’t on your long list of books you’ve read 😜
They are excellent films and I hope you can get to them quicker than usual with sequels. They’re definitely worth your time.
Really enjoy your channel, keep the reactions coming.
I'm surprised that you're not familiar with the Bourne Identity as it was a best selling book series by Robert Ludlum starting in 1980 (there are approximately 15 novels - Eric Van Lustbader took over the series after Robert Ludlum passed). The films have done really well, probably best known for their energenic action sequences and "real" in-camera stunts/effects.
The Bourne Identity... the Bourne Supremecy... the Bourne Ultimatum ... followed by the Bourne Legacy (which is an off-shoot/spin-off film) ...and Jason Bourne ... the (current) final film in this franchise. They're all worth watching, in my opinion. Thanks for the reaction & letting us re-experience this through your eyes
I'm kinda surprised you never read the books.
The books are nothing like the movies. In the books he’s 50something with junk knees but a master of disguise.
As a reader you should get the original Borune trilogy by Robert Ludlum, they are very good and quite different from the movies, they each take place years apart from each other and only the first movie bears any resemblance to the books.
The original Bourne trilogy was written by Robert Ludlum. After Ludlum died in 2001, the series continued on, written by Eric Von Lustbader and Brian Freeman. I think there are around 18 or 19 titles in the series.
This one shocked me. Being a book reader, you never read these?
Never even heard of them. I know the Reacher books, I've read the Jack Ryan series, Bosch, Odd Thomas but never this one
@@AwesomeUSMoviesOdd Thomas is my favorite series! The movie was pretty good too.
@@AwesomeUSMovies I love Odd Thomas!
One of my favorite movies! There are more in this series - but I believe it's the second one that I hated for spoiler reasons and also because they used SO much shaky cam that I couldn't track the action scenes. I can only take shaky cam in small amounts. I think there are 3 or 4 of these and Jeremy Renner takes over in the last one (?) - sorry, don't have the energy to look it up. Glad you loved it.
The Bourne Legacy stars Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz. I think it’s great. It follows a different plot but it does tell you about ‘the program’.
Excellent movie!! Great poll! Thanks! 😊
The Bourne identity is a novel written by Robert Ludlum in 1980. This movie is loosely based on that book, I'd say 40-50%. The sequel movies are probably about 10% or less.
I was hoping you had read them and could offer you view on the movies from that point of view..
That being said I'd recommend you read them and see what you think.
No reason to cut Marie's hair as long as she stayed with Bourne who looked the same.
As a bookworm, how could you possibly have missed the Robert Ludlum novels like The Bourne Identity?!!! Check them out and read them in order. His other books are also awesome, like The Matarese Circle, The Gemini Contenders, and many more.
Spy Game (2001), with Robert Redford and Brad Pitt, is an excellent spy movie. I very highly recommend it.
You should watch Three Days of the Condor before Spygame
It's technically not a prequel, but it's a nice way to get into the mood of how CIA works.
I remember Run Lola Run! I watched it on the STARZ network when it came out.
John Wick checks under his bed for Bourne.
Oh my goodness how did you miss this one. Great series of movies!
James you are by far my favorite reactor on RUclips love your vibe, energy and authenticity keep it up sir
Since you're a big reader, you should check out the book series. Won't spoil anything. Different enough to provide more entertainment in addition to the movies.
8:50 that language is GERMAN ... and the girl he is talking to is "Franka Potente", who rose to acting fame with the german movie "Lola rennt" (Run, Lola run).
Being a book reader I am surprised you haven't read the books. My Dad LOVED the books. There are twists in the 2nd and 3rd films. Both are excellent.
Never even heard of them. I know the Reacher books, I've read the Jack Ryan series, Bosch, Odd Thomas but never this one
Great reaction To the start of the Bourne Trilogy, all three a great
The 2nd is called the Bourne Supremacy and thr 3rd is The Bourne Ultimatum the 3rd one is my favorite of the Trilogy.
Good catch with knowing the actress from Run Lola Run (Franka Potente), it was that part that got her the role in this movie.
In the beginning of the film Jason Bourne is looking in the mirror and says, "Weet je wie ik ben? Hou dan godverdomme op met dat gezeik en zeg het me." It's Nederlands (usually called "Dutch" in English), and means, "Do you know who I am? Then cut the goddamn bullshit and tell me." It is one of the few instances where Dutch is used correctly in a hollywood movie.
Nice shirt, James!
I'd recommend the books as well. They're very different, but the espionage/assassin/hunter vs hunted aspect is even more in depth than this. Absolutely terrific books even if they are a bit dated. The movies are great as well and I understand why they went this direction rather than trying to do a straight up adaptation of the books. I'd still recommend finishing this trilogy and checking out the books as well because they're quite entertaining and clever.
If you're looking at revenge story movies, I would strongly recommend some Korean films: Oldboy, The Man From Nowhere, and I Saw The Devil.
Oldboy is about a man wrongfully imprisoned for 15 years who gets turned loose to find who locked him up.
The Man From Nowhere is about an ex-special forces commando fighting a gang of drug dealers to rescue a kidnapped girl.
I Saw The Devil is about a very elaborate game of cat and mouse between a cop and a serial killer. The guy who plays the serial killer is also the same guy who plays the main character in Oldboy (Min-sik Choi, he is very well known for the fact that he will do literally anything in a movie).
Mr James, why you look so handsome today? You look like you're fresh from a vacation 😎 Hope y'all are enjoying your summer!
Seems like your doing better, nice shirt.
2:18 ohmygosh it’s 5:32PM here as I pulled this up. 🤗 You’ll like this one. And the next. And the next. Lol
Part 2 is probably my favorite one. Great reaction.
Matt Damon was a runt for the role. Just like Tom Cruise for Jack Reacher.
Wait what??? There is a movie with Tom Cruise playing Reacher?? WTH? isn't Tom pretty small?
@@AwesomeUSMovies movies. He is small. But the first movie is good.
I used to pretend and felt i was Jason Bourne many years ago when I owned this small stick shift vehicle. I had it for a few months and was getting used to driving stick.
Enjoyed your reaction as always. Would love to see you do the sequels. They're all good.
I hope you do the rest of the series soon
how did you NOT read the books? Worth doing after watching
Never even heard of them. I know the Reacher books, I've read the Jack Ryan series, Bosch, Odd Thomas but never this one
If you are looking for a great show, I recommend The Expanse (I probably have mentioned this already.) It is based on the first 6 of 9 novels, and the original authors were heavily involved in the series, so you know the story is pretty well thought out. Any changes they made I feel made for a better adaptation to TV. It is rare not to have that "the books were better" feeling! As a fan of the show, I hope you watch the series before reading, but it is still a great read even after watching! I only recommend you watch a decent amount of other sci-fi movies, because The Expanse will kinda set the bar for you!
Oh damn I can't wait to see this but am out of town. You are going to love every minute.
Hi James , Love ya.. enjoy the show.
I like the 80's version with Richard Chamberlain..... 😊😊
*You have to do them all*
This is one of the few series movies where one is just as good as the other (pretty much), so do em' all, you won't me sorry.
"Enhance" LOL
car chases:
"Ronin" (1998)
"The Peacemaker" (1997)
"Central Intelligence" (2016)
"Killers" (2010)
"Bullitt" (1968)
"Payback" (1999)
"Parker" (2013)
"Jack Reacher" (2012)
I hope to see him react to Ronin, a classic that one too!
I thought you were a great reader? Robert Ludlum. The author of all the Bourne titles. Glad you enjoyed the movie!
Never even heard of this series. Read many others
Great movie better book
I remember installing Windows 95 from 25 3,5" discs ...
I think you would like the original. I was on RUclips once upon a time it mignt still be out there!
In all the books you’ve read you’ve never came across Marseille 😂 maselles lol
Love this movie and your reaction
FYI Scottish speak English, well 99% do
The song Twilight Zone hangs on this story.
On that book ❤
Learn his real name in the sequel
I don't understand the amusement of seeing CRT computer monitors in movies. TFTs weren't really common place until around 07 or 08; which isn't that long ago.
For some reason Samuel L. Jackson is not in it. But there are many more of these. Some are good some not so good.
A bit of nostalgia
This is based on a book series by Robert Ludlum.
❤️❤️
That was the guy, the cop who was shot by the black guy in A Time to Kill.
Bourne doesn’t get whooped. 😂😅😂
Make sure you do All 5 movies. In the order they came out.
This is a set of 3 movies, if you pick one, you NEED to go with the rest.
The three books are very fast paced. You sort of know his real name as you go on.
Nice Aloha Shirt :)
These films sort of popularized shaky cam fight scenes which is a shame. Terrible idea and exhausting to watch.
Will Run Lola Run ever make it to the YT channel, or is it just for patreons?
“Bourne’s gonna get whooped.”
Ummmm no. That’s not how this works lol
I'd say the next book you should read is an atlas of Europe ;-)
Have to watch the other movies you will enjoy them
1982
Bourne vs Reacher vs Wick. Who wins?
oh... Gun Play I give it to Wick, fighting is a weird one. Reacher is a tough SOB but Bourne is crazy fast so I give it to Bourne.
You forgot to add Denzel's Equalizer and Liam Neesom Taken's character
@@Casper50002 that's fair.
You should watch spy game with Brad pitt and Robert redford
Constantly drunk too
We dont know he's real name yet - Jason Bourne is his American alias. Watch the next two movies in the trilogy and find out. They're all good movies.
Thanks for the spoiler, sometimes saying less is more.
@@lazerx1828 Spoiler for who? For the reactor it's not a spoiler because he already figured out Jason Bourne was not he's real name. For you - well if you've never seen the trilogy then i suggest you go watch all three movies before spoiling yourself by watching the reactions and reading the comments.
Its not a FUCKING TRILOGY. its a 5 movie sequal dude. Im bout tired of you fucking people calling it a fucking trilogy.
Way to spoil everything you a hole
@Raivo_K how did he figure it out before watching the next movies?
You read a lot of books, but never any Robert Ludlum? The Bourne books are excellent.
Windows 95, what's up?
