Fun fact: Reba McEntire's first movie was this, she had relative no experience with guns beforehand. She never fumbled in any of the takes with the guns at all.
I'm ok with all 7 movies. I like 1-4 (what I call the originals) better that 5-7. Of course there is a lot of nostalgia factor affecting my judgment. The short lived tv series was fine as well, but from what I remember it suffered from the Firefly treatment (airing order was different than production order).
@@MrKDogg Honestly I don't think airing them in order would have changed too much. I was surprised that the show was as decent as it was. Not great, but perfectly serviceable. It probably would have helped a smidge to have them in the right order, but it wouldn't substantively changed its quality or fate. Biggest surprise was seeing Chrisopher Lloyd as a recurring character.
I am a die hard Tremors fan and nothing makes me happier than watching reactions of this movie. The best part of a reaction to Tremors is always the camera panning over to the Gummer’s wall of guns. 😂 so glad you’ve added this to your ever growing list of reactions. ❤
I guess I'd call this a "monster movie"? It was Reba McEntire's first film role. She went on to a pretty successful acting career. She even had her own sitcom, "Reba", that ran for six seasons.
One of my favorite giant monster movies from my childhood! The idea of the movie came from Brent Maddox and SS Wilson, both of them were in the Navy, they were sitting on a large boulder in a Nevada Test Site, taking notes and one of them said, "What if there was something under the ground that would never let us off this Rock?" And thus TREMORS was born
Tremors 2 is also huge fun! They didn't get Kevin Bacon, but they got a bunch of VERY solid actors, who often played 'serious' parts , such as Helen Shaver, and let them lean into the campness of it. It was RIGHT on the tense/ridiculous line which is really hard to do and is well worth it
The little girl Mindy in this move was played by Ariana Richards, who was in Jurassic Park and a fantastic 1990s film called "Angus" -- not well known but an incredibly moving film. I _highly_ recommend it. ( She paints beautiful portraits and landscapes in the Pacific Northwest now. )
Prepper Burt- Michael Gross- is the only cast member to appear in all the Tremors movies and a TV show (!? who knew!). I know him best as dad Steven Keaton from Family Ties series. Always love watching with you. Peace, all 💕
Was about to mention this great 80s movie myself. And a bookworm like James would be well advised to also give some of the 150 novels of the "The Destroyer" series that movie is based on a try. They are categorized as "Pulp Action", politically outmost incorrect, and and extremely humorous read.
This movie! I love funny horror movies like this that make you laugh even harder then you shudder. Why don’t we have more movies like this!! I introduced my husband to this movie and he still loves me.😂
So fun fact. Notice how no one is really sweating in the movie? As much as they make it seem like it is some hot desert, the place was freezing cold. People had to take constant breaks to warm up with blankets because they are running around in summer style clothing.
One of my favorite movies! I don't know how many times I've seen this! And I adore Kevin Bacon. It's a monster movie. Also, Reba had an entire sitcom--it was pretty good.
Fred Ward is terrific as astronaut Gus Grissom in the film The Right Stuff, which costars a wide range of soon-to-be-famous actors such as Ed Harrris, Dennis Quaid, Scott Glenn, Harry Shearer, and Jeff Goldblum.
Recall Michael Gross (Burt Gummer) from Family Ties--he was Michael J. Fox's father. And Mindy was in Jurassic Park. I certainly enjoyed this movie in the past and your reaction. Tremors 4 is a wild west prequel that I thought was great. (2 & 3 are fun too)
There was a Tremors TV series on the Sci-Fi channel. They had a web site explaining the history and life cycle of the Graboids. They are an offshoot of squids evolved to live underground. The tongues are the tentacles. They have a very longlife cycle, and go decade in egg form, which is why we don't often see them.
You wondered about the last gun that Bert Gummer used...the "elephant gun"...that was an 8 Gauge double barrel shotgun firing solid slugs. LOL The specific gun was a Belgian-made William Moore & Co model.
This has been in my top 10 monster movies since the first time I saw it. This movie is so much better than it had any right to be. The actors all had great chemistry, it never wasted a shot or dragged things out, and the dialog was so well delivered. Also, the practical effects really sold this movie. There is literally only one wonky shot in the entire movie.
Great movie. I usually don't like horror movies but this is the exception. You should also see Stir of Echos 1999 a sci fi horror also with Kevin Bacon Also a great Fred Ward Rip movie is Remo Willams the adventure begins. I love the scene with the monster that attack the gun crazy couple it cracks me up :) . You got in into the wrong rec room :) .
Tremors was the first movie of the 1990’s I saw in the theaters. And my favorite quote from this movie is “We plan ahead that way we do nothing right now.”
the entire series is worth a watch and even the short lived tv show, this movie was pure practical effects, even the dirt tunnel segments was practical there is even a fun tremors song, The ballad of burt gummers.
Rest In Peace Michael Dan Wagner who played old Fred he died on December 15 1993 Bibi Besch 1942-1996 she played Megan Wallace Sunshine Parker 1927-1999 he played Edgar Deems Gene Siskel 1946-1999 he was a famous film critic, with his friend Roger Ebert Victor Wong 1927-2001 he played Walter Chang Roger Ebert 1942-2013 he was a famous film critic Tony Genaro 1941-2014 he played Miguel and Fred Ward 1942-2022 he played Earl Bassett
I love these movies, I have all seven of them on DVD, there is also a one season TV series that isn't half bad, watching your reaction is classic. Thanks for the video, Cheers.
Creature Feature. This movie made it to cult status in the uk when we first got satellite tv and they didn't have many movies to show so it was this and 'Weekend at Bernnies'
"We plan ahead, so we don't do anything right now... Earl explained it to me!" An all time favorite quote from a top horror comedy. I saw this when I was about 6 or 7 and I just had so much fun watching Val and Earl run for their lives 🤣🤣🤣 The sequel, Tremors 2: Aftershocks, is also really good but after that they kinda fall off to me.
I love this movie, the guy that dies in the first 5-10 mins has more personality then most horror movie main chars :> The movie is jsut such a great classic.
While the movie is set in Arizona, I believe the majority of the outdoor scenes were filmed outside Lone Pine, Californina, in the Owens Valley. The scene with the jackhammer was filmed on Lubken Canyon Road, south of town. There have been hundreds of movies filmed in that area. Maybe James will start recognizing the area in more movies 😀
3:21 "We are Handy-Men" (proceeds to miss fencing nail ten times). Well...they're Men, anyway.🤣 5:02 I love that Michael Gross went from playing an old Hippie who ran a PBS station to a Prepper Gun-Nut...that's range. Plus...Reba! 🥰
Series turns more into a B-movie series but still enjoyable. Bit of a guilty pleasure of mine, especially the last one. I’d love to see you continue these. Otherwise love the reaction, I was so excited when I saw this on the list
I Loved this film when i first saw it a few years ago. i also loved Tremors 2, i hope you end up watching it. the rest are alright, So-So. Gotta Love Burt Broke into the Wrong Goddammed Rec Room didn't you, You Bastard!
This one goes on your sequels list: "Tremors 2: Aftershocks" "Tremors 3: Back to Perfection" "Tremors" TV series (13 eps) set immediately after "Tremors 3" "Tremors 4: The Legend Begins" "Tremors 5: Bloodlines" skip this 💩 "Tremors 6: A Cold Day In Hell" "Tremors [7]: Shrieker Island"

If I remember correctly for the moving dirt effect they covered tarps with dirt and pulled a ball through underneath them.
Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward had the best, best friend chemistry in cinema history in this movie in my humble opinion...
Fun fact:
Reba McEntire's first movie was this, she had relative no experience with guns beforehand. She never fumbled in any of the takes with the guns at all.
RIP FRED WARD!
Tremors 2 is worth a watch. There are tons of sequels, but the first 2 are actually worth watching.
I honestly love the second one even more than the first. Because of best character. If you know, you know.
And the last. For perpetuity .
I'm ok with all 7 movies. I like 1-4 (what I call the originals) better that 5-7. Of course there is a lot of nostalgia factor affecting my judgment. They're all worth watching for one reason or another.

It probably would have helped a smidge to have them in the right order, but it wouldn't substantively changed its quality or fate. Biggest surprise was seeing Chrisopher Lloyd as a recurring character.
The fire fight scene in the basement with Reba and Michael Gross is my favorite part of the movie.
They would be deaf after that
One of my favourite things about your reactions is how excited you get when you recognize an actor XD
Broke into the wrong God damn rec room didn’t ya you bastard! One of my favourite lines in cinema.
I am a die hard Tremors fan and nothing makes me happier than watching reactions of this movie. The best part of a reaction to Tremors is always the camera panning over to the Gummer’s wall of guns. 😂 so glad you’ve added this to your ever growing list of reactions. ❤
Hope you enjoyed the reaction

"What Was That Last One, An Elephant Gun?"
Bingo, that's exactly what that was
Tremors is just Jaws in the desert! LOL 🦈
I love that interaction. "Im older and im wiser". "well, you half right".
the actress that played Mindy here, is the same actress that plays Lex in Jurassic Park....Ariana Richards
Awright, quit tooting your own horn, Ariana, we all know it's you that keeps posting this comment.
I guess I'd call this a "monster movie"? It was Reba McEntire's first film role. She went on to a pretty successful acting career. She even had her own sitcom, "Reba", that ran for six seasons.
Nothing better than teaching an older dog new flicks!
Clever!

One of my favorite movie horror series, great and doesn't take itself too seriously. Enjoy your reactions, and how you laugh at Melvin.

Love the "omg CAT" point at your own shirt.
Great suggestion! "Tremors" is considered a classic with a big cult following. There are 6? sequels. Second movie is worth watching!
Prepper Burt- Michael Gross- is the only cast member to appear in all the Tremors movies and a TV show (!? who knew!). I know him best as dad Steven Keaton from Family Ties series. Always love watching with you. Peace, all 💕
Reba and Burt are my favorites. I love their wall of guns.
If Burt Gummer was cast in Jurassic Park, it would have been a very short film.🤣
That's funny
Stephanie, you ROCK! This is one of my all-time favourites too! I can’t wait to watch Jame’s reaction :)
That hammer was aimed perfectly every swing but the nail kept moving
Was a nice touch that Reba not only acted in the movie but sang the theme at the end.
She really is delightful in this. I wish she'd elected to return for the sequel. She and Micheal Gross have a fun energy as Burt & Heather.
excellent choice....Fred Ward also starred in one of my Favorite 80's movies, "Remo Williams, The Adventure Begins" James --- you would love it.
I was gonna recommend "Remo Williams". Fun movie!
There's a bit of raceface, but mostly forgivable because the movie is fun.
Was about to mention this great 80s movie myself. And a bookworm like James would be well advised to also give some of the 150 novels of the "The Destroyer" series that movie is based on a try. They are categorized as "Pulp Action", politically outmost incorrect, and and extremely humorous read.
The second and third Tremors movies are worth watching too.
Tremors was Reba McEntire’s first movie that she starred in.
This film is a text-book example of "Greater than the sum of it's parts"
This movie! I love funny horror movies like this that make you laugh even harder then you shudder. Why don’t we have more movies like this!!
I introduced my husband to this movie and he still loves me.😂
Awesome Movie , at least once a Year Watch , guess You will love it Sir
So fun fact. Notice how no one is really sweating in the movie? As much as they make it seem like it is some hot desert, the place was freezing cold. People had to take constant breaks to warm up with blankets because they are running around in summer style clothing.
JAMES: "This is going to be an earthquake movie!"
ME: 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿😁
Mindy better get used to running from monsters!
Well, it's about time! 😁 I already know you're gonna have a blast with this classic creature feature!
I also love how american english cursing is "pardon my french'.
One of my favorite movies! I don't know how many times I've seen this! And I adore Kevin Bacon. It's a monster movie. Also, Reba had an entire sitcom--it was pretty good.
Honestly she had me at a month's work with lunches but add beer. SOLD!
She picked a good one! This had to be my all time favorite movie for 2 to 3 years. I've rented this on vhs at least a dozen times.
Bixby is in Arizona.....mentioned by Kim Bassinger's character in LA Confidential (which I have recommended to you several times in the last year +.)
Fred Ward is terrific as astronaut Gus Grissom in the film The Right Stuff, which costars a wide range of soon-to-be-famous actors such as Ed Harrris, Dennis Quaid, Scott Glenn, Harry Shearer, and Jeff Goldblum.
Fred Ward was also in the movie Southern comfort, an early 80s cult classic.

This would be categorized as a Creature Feature.
Great reaction James to a awesome movie so enjoyable its funny scary with action and a touch of romance
The "Tremor" movies are so much fun. Part 2 is my favorite. I think there is 5 or 6 sequels.
You wondered about the last gun that Bert Gummer used...the "elephant gun"...that was an 8 Gauge double barrel shotgun firing solid slugs. LOL The specific gun was a Belgian-made William Moore & Co model.
It’s stupidly campy but I love it. It doesn’t take itself seriously which made it more fun. The sequel is also worth a peak.
This has been in my top 10 monster movies since the first time I saw it. This movie is so much better than it had any right to be. 35:44 - it's a horror comedy.
This still holds up. In fact I'd say watch it again just to see how the beginning mirrors the ending
Great pick. Love this movie so much!! Love the duo between our two main guys
You didn't recognize Bert (Michael Gross) from "Family Ties."
Dude fired an elephant gun close quarters. All of everyone hears it. But they definitely deaf forever.
Oh yeah. They would have been deaf from any of those guns
4:17 "Earthquake movie hahahaha" not close
Awesome that you’re actually wearing a Cat shirt during this reaction lol, I love it
I love it!
0:44 The way I cackled....
I hate scary movies but this movie I can handle. It’s kind of corny but in a good way imo. So nostalgic ❤
Hope you like it 😊
This is far more of a monster movie than a scary or horror. It’s great.
@@anonomas6126 very true 😎

Classic example of fantastic film making. You should def continue with the series. At least the first 3.
Pogo stick girl is Ariana Richards from Jurassic Park. She is a fabulous painter.

This was a favorite in my house hold when I was a kid! We loved this cult classic! And really funny humor in this😎
This is what you would call a creature feature.
4:18 Doubling down on that prediction aren't you.😏
Kevin Bacon also had a brief scene In Planes trains and automobiles when he races Steve Martin for the taxi
"At least she's safe in the car."
😮
"We plan ahead, so we don't do anything right now... Earl explained it to me!"
An all time favorite quote from a top horror comedy. I saw this when I was about 6 or 7 and I just had so much fun watching Val and Earl run for their lives 🤣🤣🤣

Perfect films rarely exist but this is one of them.
I love this movie, the guy that dies in the first 5-10 mins has more personality then most horror movie main chars :> The movie is jsut such a great classic.
I'm pretty sure how bad Kevin Bacon is with a hammer is actually in the making of Tremors documentary.

Kevin Bacon was also in "Apollo 13"... if you haven't watched it then make sure to watch it!

Great classic movies!
The actor playing opposite Kevin Bacon is Fred Ward, he was in a movie called Remo Williams; The Adventure Begins. I think you will really like it
That was a good movie, Fred Ward was also in the movie Southern comfort, an early 80s cult classic.
The movie was an homage to the old monster movies from the 50s.
Try Earthquake, one of the many disaster films of the 70s, for the earthquake movie you were expecting 😅
The ending makes the awkward male really realistic
You wore the perfect shirt to watch this movie. Haha
right!
Best line ever. "i stuffed it with cannon fuse."
Always a fav film.loook forward to you experiencing it
This one goes on your sequels list:
"Tremors 2: Aftershocks"
"Tremors 3: Back to Perfection"

"Tremors 4: The Legend Begins"
"Tremors 5: Bloodlines" skip this 💩
"Tremors 6: A Cold Day In Hell"
"Tremors [7]: Shrieker Island"
Love this movie and the next two sequels. One of the few monster movies where people actually believe the survivors.
"This guy is really hung up on the name... I like Grabboids!"
Grabboids is the name the series uses going forward, in honor of Walter 😇
Victor Wong (glad you recognized him from BTiLC) plays a kooky old man in a bunch of stuff, but most notably in The Golden Child (with Eddie Murphy) and 3 Ninjas (kids martial arts comedy)
