Hey Todd - great video bro! Just curious, can you make a video or comment breaking down the costs and what was billed to the customer on this entire project? Would really help! Thanks for the time and effort you put into these videos bro, it really helps a lot!
Close !!!! I retired from the Trucking Industry after 42 years due to a heart condition, my last 6 years was working for a small excavation company, which was the most enjoyable of my 42 years. I love your videos, it brings back a lot of great memories. Keep up the awesome job. God Bless.
My only suggestion would be I would have most likely used perf pipe to get that water out and I would have cut an angle at the outflow to match the ditch so water isn't getting trapped in the ditch. But that's just personal preference. Looks really good though.
From someone that does this for his business your doing it exactly how I would have done it we see this a lot here in Maine especially on in slopes. You can not go wrong stuffing a culvert in for nothing more then a french drain. I like to call it cheap insurance. I had a similar issue on a job when I first started 6 years ago and it was stressful but an old timer told me do it right and you will be good. Fast forward 6 years and its still mint
Just an FYI if your working in Haywood County Papertown rental is now a supplier of all size pipe, fabric, grass seed, fertilizer, silt fence, and 112in by 104feet rolled straw seed cover! Keep up the great work love your informative videos!!
It always amazes me how much soil dries out when the elements change and the area is opened up. Hopefully with all the work your putting in, the area should stay dry and will drain easier when that stream overflows, but it's going to be a close run thing. 🤗
The super exciting Luke!!! I remember when I was at that point. It was like jumping into a pool that I knew was ice cold. At some point you just gotta go for it.
That is one nice road. I would like to see if that part dry out as good as the other. That was great the other hole dried out. Learn how to keep my road from washing out using big rocks.
close i finally went out on my own by watching your videos over the last 3 years you have help me al lot I bought a kubota kx040 so far its been great thanks for all the info you share in your videos
Great job Todd, there's sure a whole of ROCK, AND YOU ROLLING ALONG! Love the southern slang " pieep" (pipe), my gran Paapa lives in North Carolina, Robbinsville near " Dragon Mountain " Hello yall from o HI Oooo
It’s a complicated drive with the creek, hillside, springs and lack decent fill for road bed. Your CLOSE to connecting the home to the road. Will be interesting to see how some parts hold up in years to come; but that will also depend on weather and load on the road. Not sure where your at but it’s probably mud season there so not the best time for road construction. But if you can keep it dry now it might be ok. Enjoy the videos!
I can't think of a better solution without digging down 2 to 4 feet and putting in a foot of railroad ballast along the whole road then compacting select fill types as you build back up and pave it. $$$$$$$$$
What is this road for? I haven’t seen any land usable for a homesite, so I’m curious why someone would go through all this trouble to put a road in here. You’ve done a great job and are SO CLOSE!!!
Sad part is the naysayers are getting in to this type of work and code compliance. Making it impossible to get anything done. Keep on keeping on you are what makes this county great. hardworking young man like yourself
Great video Todd! I do a lot of these road projects and driveways, seems I run into these issues a lot and I think your way of doing it is a lot better than what I do. It’s nice to see another perspective on handling these types of situations. Also I think you shouldn’t worry about the ney sayers it seems like no matter what you do in life there’s always going to be someone saying they would do it better or their way is the best way.
Was wondering if you would fill the ditch with the rip rap and then top it with the smaller road gravel that way if any slipping or sliding towards the ditch ya won't be dropping in it.
You might have mentioned it in a previous episode, but why not perforate the first pipe crossing the road where all the ground water starts instead of the solid pipe?
Im curious on the price of something like this because i am going to be installing a driveway across wet areas next year and would like an idea of how much money im going to spend!
It would be super interesting to understand how you bid this project with all the riprap you had to put in.
This is a 25k job(minimum) is my guess.
Todd don’t let the naysayers bother u no matter what someone always thinks they know best no matter what.keep up the great work

Who know building a road was so complexed. Good thing we have people like you to build them for us!!
Definitely getting Close to the finish Todd. The customer will have an excellent driveway when it's done
You should do a video on breaking down the cost of this project. Really curious!
So" CLOSE" Heck of job and absolutely 5 🌟 video I just love it and as always God bless yah from Gaffney South Carolina viewer 🙏❤️💯

I have rented equipment from Papertown in the past, and they run a great business!
Close!!! 👍👍
Big Mack brings the rift raft rocks.
It always amazes me how much soil dries out when the elements change and the area is opened up. Hopefully with all the work your putting in, the area should stay dry and will drain easier when that stream overflows, but it's going to be a close run thing. 🤗
I’m so CLOSE to pulling the trigger on buying some equipment and starting my own business.
The super exciting Luke!!! I remember when I was at that point. It was like jumping into a pool that I knew was ice cold. At some point you just gotta go for it.
Good Job. But neaten the trees that are falling over close to the road before gravel. Like to the see the finish product.
This was a huge project you tackled! Great job!
I've been fighting unsuitable soils on the project I've started on this week. Such a pita.
Hey Todd, who doesn't love to be "Close" to their baby? God bless. 👍👍😊
❤ Thank you so much Tod 🎉 I learn a ton from you. 😮 Amazing the amount of information you can get by watching your videos.🎉❤😮😊
Close ! ! !
Yes you are getting CLOSE brother. Awesome video and work.
Great video Todd . It’s drying out nice. Close to being able to tie together. Thanks for sharing see you next time.
Love seeing this one so close to completion!
What a project!! Close to being done though!!
Yeah buddy!!!
I totally understand why you didn't use perf pipe on this one. You'd leave the owner with a mess. Great job on a tough one.
I don't understand? Could you explain please.
Slick operator!
so close to installing the toll booth........ thumbs up !!
That is one nice road. I would like to see if that part dry out as good as the other. That was great the other hole dried out. Learn how to keep my road from washing out using big rocks.
A great video I'm in Eastern Kentucky and I really enjoy these kind of videos I've done a lot of work like that.

I like your videos they are calming and enjoyable to watch, not all loud and obnoxious, just a humble guy doing cool projects. 👍
Looking good Todd.
Ed from Chicago!🙂

Very cool, thanks
Excellent
Very helpful. Thank you Todd. new sub.
Thank you John 🙏🏻
A week? Noooooooo....... Was looking forward to a daily on this drive, good stuff!
Can definitely say i have learned a lot more watching these videos than I did from the dude I "learned" grading and landscaping from for 5 years lmao
Soooo “close” buddy. Almost there. Looks great
Good job!

Close. Loving watching your progress on this project Todd. Just need to sort out the missing sound on the right channel with your new mic setup!
I can't think of a better solution without digging down 2 to 4 feet and putting in a foot of railroad ballast along the whole road then compacting select fill types as you build back up and pave it.

Great videos my man, love the way you say piiiiipe….
Now all I miss is the drone footage, yea, RUclips has me spoiled. Smile
I’m glad to have a drone now days
Close. You do a very good job in this mess. The groundwater spots tear a job like this very fast into the ... Best Regards, Alfred
Great videos! Learning so much from you that can be applied to my property.
Getting CLOSE Todd.
Looking good!
I’ll say you are close if I was on that job I definitely would not be that far along good work Todd
It looks to me like you are doing a good job. Building a road over and around a spring on one side and a creek on the other can't be easy.
Close. How many tonne can you put in the mack with the tri axle?
Great job Todd
What is this road for? I haven’t seen any land usable for a homesite, so I’m curious why someone would go through all this trouble to put a road in here. You’ve done a great job and are SO CLOSE!!!
at the start, sound only coming out of the Left side Speaker.
So how did you go about bidding this job out with all the time you are going to have in it and materials since you run into the wet muddy section?
I wish I had A Big Mack at my house Iv got to work on my mother in-laws road
It makes moving material fast
How would you go about estimating a job this size? Another great video!
Sad part is the naysayers are getting in to this type of work and code compliance.
Making it impossible to get anything done.
Keep on keeping on you are what makes this county great. hardworking young man like yourself
Do u need permits or inspections? Down here in Florida youd probably need to have both.

Thanks Mike!!! We ask have something to learn from each other
Thank you! Hopefully one day I can start up a page like you did. Keep grinding! I’ll tag you in some of my projects on instagram.
Start to finish. What’s the rough cost for a drive like this?
Would you recommend fabric for all the roads or driveways?
I wouldn’t recommend on every road. Just wetter and low lying areas
Hope she dries out next week. You're so CLOSE!
I love it, you want your drainage ditch a couple of inches lower than your roadway = college physics
What brand of fabric do you use and what mil? Do you buy it locally or order in quantity and have it delivered to your yard?
Looikn' good So "Close" to being done
👍👍
Yes mee too i would like to know pricing roundup to get an idea what would take to that around my location
Watch your weekend broadcast dose and see how fast we get close.
Great job on the crossings. It seems you knew there would be problems in that area? Did you bid cost plus or was it a set price?
Was wondering if you would fill the ditch with the rip rap and then top it with the smaller road gravel that way if any slipping or sliding towards the ditch ya won't be dropping in it.
Never a wasted motion when you are operating!!!!
With this particular job, would it make sense to rent a small bulldozer or would it just be a waste of money?
So close to getting a big Mac for lunch
Everyone has there way of doing things but if it works it works that's all that matters
You might have mentioned it in a previous episode, but why not perforate the first pipe crossing the road where all the ground water starts instead of the solid pipe?

$25k give or take
@@DigginLife21 thank you for getting back to me I appreciate it! I learn a lot from your videos appreciate you taking the time to create them!
@@damienrichards9358 my pleasure
🎉
What was the budget for this project?
$18k
Getting Close Todd
The story continues..
My excavator just broke 💔 😢. I was so CLOSE to the finish line! I guess it's time to go play some golf ⛳️ 🤷 😏
LOL I might be wrong but I swear there was a snake coming out of that pipe when you was hauling it with excavator. Todd watch closely .
😎
Great Series Big Mack! Is the purpose of the fabric to keep the two materials from combining? How long will the fabric continue to serve its purpose?
Getting close buddy
How deep did you need to put that pipe?
Will Ryan…I don’t remember exactly but I believe it ended up with about 1 foot total cover
Close brother!
CLOSE!!! ❤
What happened to. your Yanmar SV? I must have missed that video?
