The problem for Royce is he approached this differently than he should've. He went lyrical-spiritual-miracle being all technical , when he should've went simple with direct shots. Lupe also responded way faster, although it is possible he had shit prepared ahead of time. Some of it repeats from his 9 min freestyle.

Royce has Eminem on speed dial, a guy well known for and still perfectly capable of creating brutal diss tracks and he thought this 7 MINUTES filler filled "diss" was gonna do something. Even Em knows when to tone down the technicality and be straight forward, to the point. On killshot Em got creative in making his disses because there isn't a lot of info on MGK out there he can use compared to a lot of info on Em MGK could've used. Royce went all over the place. If this is the only round, Lupe won by a land slide.

Nah but this seems kinda weird. If the conversation that sparked it all was about who’s the best rapper, they didn’t have to drop disses like this. Lupe punished him here, but i think the situation changes if Royce is coming with a straight diss and not a technical display. Royce 100% more technical with his track, Lupe 100% better with the beef on his. Super weird situation.
So from my perspective Lupe been pushing this EOW as a way to determine who is the objectively, not subjectively, best. Royce seemed unwilling to listen to reason as his logic was "if I never heard of you how can you be the best" which is the most ignorant perspective to have. You can't know everybody so that doesn't invalidate actual skill. It kept going like that for a bit until Royce said a few things disrespectful and then when Lu finally had enough he was going off and Royce kept telling him to put a shirt on. He tried to cut Lu off saying "you better stop yourself before you say something you regret" in a way that I believe Lu interpreted as you'll regret because I'll make you regret it" so then they got into an argument about who called Lu which doesn't make sense and then "disses" started.

The “if it wasn’t for..if if wasn’t for…if it wasn’t for… n*gga I got a dozen more..”am I reaching for when Lupe says “for × four“ (Slaughterhouse) and then ‘I’ve got a dozen more“ as in D12 dirty dozen?
Royce bored the shit outta me. I'm not looking for that in a Diss who wants to Break down a diss down by listening 3 or 4 times, shit was boring and I got Royce in my top 5. Lupe Cooked him I gotta check him out never really listened to him.
If I were you, I would skip "drogas light" the album. Thats when his label was forcing him to be a mumble rapper. But everything else is fire!.. Ernest has a series here mainly about lupe
Lupe Fiasco’s freshman and sophomore albums “Food & Liquor” and “The Cool” are in my weekly rotation. In terms of being a creative fucking genius, Lupe has that in spades. Some of my favorite songs are ‘Kick, Push’ ‘The Cool’ and ‘Hurt Me Soul’ off of Food & Liquor. Off of The Cool I really like ‘Bitch Bad’, ‘The Coolest’, ‘Go Go Gadget Flow’, ‘Little Weapon’, and ‘Hip-Hop Just Saved My Life’.
I would say Royce took the diss more from like a race where he just wanted to show that he can run faster whereas Lupe took the diss from a perspective of Battle where he showed that he can destroy him in a rap battle…. I know Royce can do better if he was coming from the same perspective.
I agree. Royce coulda went at his throat. Not sure why he didn’t. Seem like he was just trying to show off everything he can do lyrically. Royce called it checking boxes. N his verse had more boxes checked then lupes
@@garyraffa5515 lupe doesn't have to get in a technical battle. Go listen to almost any song he's ever made and you'll see why. He literally has whole songs that are triple entendres 😂
I think Royce was setting up his song as bait. He finessed on the track and dropped a whole vibe layered with technical prowess (as Lupe called out). He showed a position of strength. Then Lupe drops his impeccable freestyle flow and goes for the throat with directs that have doubles and triples. Lupe was able to capture the minds of the casuals and the hip hop heads which is amazing. But I think it sets up Royce to really respond now. If this ended right now, Lupe wins despite how great Royce's track was. The real W is everyone who loves hip-hop/rap. But I don't think it stops here (I hope it doesn't). I'm a fan of both and look forward to Royce's response. Let's see if I'm right.
@@boi2na Fair enough. I can see the point here. But let’s be real, Lupe had to of touched Royce with this. It’s hard for me to accept Royce won’t answer this because the community will give Lupe the W because he was the pure diss track and Royce was a more technical piece with some jabs. But maybe that’s what they intended. Time will tell.
Imagine if it was black thought vs one of these two and how different a battle it would be either way. I can't help but feel like that would be fun to watch based on how these two went at each other
Nobody is willing to go at Thought. There aren't negative things to say about him so you can't take the direct approach. What you gonna say "look at you playing for Fallon making money on the daily" In terms of the technical approach there may be some better than Thought but you don't wanna test him
Also As a battle n judging who has the better verse in Royce mind is called checking boxes. N to him his verse checked way more boxes. But thats not what the world was expecting. Lupes verse will appeal to the masses cuz he actually came at his neck
I think the more i listen to royce's song is that royce's wasnt a diss track but also wasnt intended to be. I think he was just name droppin lupe to get a response and maybe now hell unload a real diss
Royce went personal and called Lu a bitch. Lu went from a skill battle to a diss. Lu can showcase his skills too, and this is SLR 3 1/2, not even SLR 4. If SLR 4 drops, then you will see the real lyrical abilities of Lupe (even though he showed us his lyrical skills with Mural).
@@Portthefirst I think he’s saving SLR4 for if Royce desides to respond, also I don’t understand how people don’t know about Royce calling him a bitch, once he did that who has the best pen was over 🙅🏾♂️Royce should’ve known the gloves were off how he didn’t I’m not sure😂😂
Royce came up with very technical song, it wasn't a full diss maybe just a flex on his ability while Lupe released a freestyle personal diss. It's obvious that Lupe had more impact as a diss but Royce did what he did and both incredible.
Royce said he wasn't gonna come back and it wasn't supposed to get personal but man he should cuz Lupe toasted him. Definitely what you said in the sum up.
My boi Lupe prepared, seasoned, cooked, and served. I've always had respect for him; always put him in my top 5 lyricists. My guy's like Bruce Banner - always angry. You get 1 or the other, almost never both.
@@forbiddenbox I really can't answer that. There are so many that have done it during their era. I'll give you names for a top 10 but in no particular order: BIG, Tupac, Lupe, Eminem, Lucas Going further: Jay-Z, NAS, NF (a weird choice but I have to give him credit), Tech9, and the RUclips rap scene as a whole (a lot of these artists have better songs than most mainstream artists. Sorry if you consider this a cop out).
Hahahaha walk all over the house!!!!! Royce's 7 mins response vid he is walking everywhere in his house whipping his phone everywhere making the viewer dizzy
To me I heard the entire diss track as him both proving himself as a better lyricist and a better overall rapper while letting lu know this ain’t what he want. I felt like this was more of a “charged up” I really loved royces verse tho tbh. Definitely not an easy listen tbh. Tone Nwigwe made a comment under this and he said “unnecessarily masterful” and I definitely agree. But I still loved this record cause it seemed like he was really educating this man. But you definitely have to be a regular listener of this level of rap in order to feel like Royce did his shit on this one but that’s how I feel
The Royce diss was whack, not just it's too complicated for average listeners as it mimics Em's style but accusing Lupe for being an uncle tom 'You respect white people more than you love black people', implying that Lupe is a handicapped, that line of 'we gon' do this for Kanye' implying support for Ye, and 'I like my crackers dead and white' is race bars, is Royce being racist to white and black people and falsely accusing Lupe whilst showing support for Ye. Black racists exist as racism, nationalism, supremacism and ethnocentrism are not demographic dependent and will take anyone into the ideology. That's already a BIG L when you accuse someone with no proof of such claims, that's super lame, you should have picked that up in your reaction and noted that.
I'm super late now you probably know this but royce was clearly showing off his lyrical skills because the beef started because they were arguing about who is the best. But I REALLLLLLY wanted lupe to flex lyrically I think that he will WAAAAAAAAAASH Royce.
Lupe did a live after dropping this and said he listened to the first minute before shutting it off (which is why all the references are from that first 60 seconds of Royce's track)
All those Heaven References is because Royce Da 5’9” home studio is named Heaven. “He always in heaven cause he already dead” Royce stays in his studio and has said that numerous times on the pod.
Lupe won hands down. But I think Royce's track is not meant to be direct. It's not that he can't do it but he chose not to. We all know what Royce can do (tho I'm not sure if Royce would win if he came at Lupe direct, I was introduced to Lupe because of the beef and he's so nice with it) 🤷♂️ Great reaction btw
In Royce's defense, I interpreted "big gums and small teeth" like "all bark and no bite," and if that's what he meant, that's a genuinely clever way to put it. Lu still bodied him, though.
This whole thing started over who was the better rapper royce went and flexed his pen game lupe came at it as a diss track two different perspectives on the situation cant really compare the two royce threw out some shots but you cant tell his point was to show his talent

Lupe bodied Royce. No question. Royces track wasn't even a diss. It was tough to listen.
I knew we would see I to I at some point great reaction
The “if it wasn’t for..if if wasn’t for…if it wasn’t for… n*gga I got a dozen more..”am I reaching for when Lupe says “for × four“ (Slaughterhouse) and then ‘I’ve got a dozen more“ as in D12 dirty dozen?
you need to check out Daylyt's Loaded Lux Diss and Loaded Lux dissing every battle rapper on (G.O.D)
We early lfg!!!
I never thought I'd be saying this but royce got Bodied
Royce bored the shit outta me. I'm not looking for that in a Diss who wants to Break down a diss down by listening 3 or 4 times, shit was boring and I got Royce in my top 5. Lupe Cooked him I gotta check him out never really listened to him.
If I were you, I would skip "drogas light" the album. Thats when his label was forcing him to be a mumble rapper. But everything else is fire!.. Ernest has a series here mainly about lupe
@@Fragmented_sins if you can lmk like 2 or 3 songs that are fire, appreciate you
Lupe Fiasco’s freshman and sophomore albums “Food & Liquor” and “The Cool” are in my weekly rotation.
@@thebluesmurfdude Thank You my Friend
Ahhh so you prefer dumbed down
LETS GO! Great time for the fans. Lupe got this round
Crazy how you could write something to technical that it kills the vibe while Lupe was actually dissing
When he was talking slaughter house when use "if it wasn't for"
I would say Royce took the diss more from like a race where he just wanted to show that he can run faster whereas Lupe took the diss from a perspective of Battle where he showed that he can destroy him in a rap battle…. I know Royce can do better if he was coming from the same perspective.
I agree. Royce coulda went at his throat. Not sure why he didn’t. Seem like he was just trying to show off everything he can do lyrically. Royce called it checking boxes. N his verse had more boxes checked then lupes
@@garyraffa5515 no..... royce did the same lego raps he accused mickey of and thats fact.
Let's see if I'm right.
royce said he's not going to do a personal diss to Lu because he thinks Lu was all emotional and " didn't check the boxes "
What you gonna say "look at you playing for Fallon making money on the daily"
In terms of the technical approach there may be some better than Thought but you don't wanna test him
Lupe started off very kindergarten rapish idk I wasn't feeling his all that much just didn't click with me.
Did you review Mickey Factz diss track to Royce? I wanna see your take on it.
Wasn’t this suppose to be a skill battle? Royce did not want to get very personal
yeah they arguing who had the better skill so i think royce show he got it and lupe made a diss track
Royce made a song, Lupe made a diss, so it depends how you rate it, I like Royce’s song more but Lupe won the round so….
Lupe for tha win! Heaven is the name of Royce’s studio
Pretty sure the term you were looking for, to describe Royce's dis, is called a "stream of consciousness"
Royce came up with very technical song, it wasn't a full diss maybe just a flex on his ability while Lupe released a freestyle personal diss. It's obvious that Lupe had more impact as a diss but Royce did what he did and both incredible.
Royce was dissing with love, wish he responded with a Malcolm X type diss
Royce said he wasn't gonna come back and it wasn't supposed to get personal but man he should cuz Lupe toasted him. Definitely what you said in the sum up.
Hip hop needs this bliss
Nah, thanks for the welcome backs, been a bit.
Mural he said he would do a 16 then just flow after a certain point stop then write another 16 and flow so forth and so forth.
THE IMPRESSION OF THAT GUY YOU FRIENDS WITH. HE WAS TALKING ABT EMINEM.
My boi Lupe prepared, seasoned, cooked, and served.
I've always had respect for him; always put him in my top 5 lyricists.
My guy's like Bruce Banner - always angry. You get 1 or the other, almost never both.
What's your top 5 for lyricist?
@@forbiddenbox I really can't answer that. There are so many that have done it during their era. I'll give you names for a top 10 but in no particular order: BIG, Tupac, Lupe, Eminem, Lucas
Going further: Jay-Z, NAS, NF (a weird choice but I have to give him credit), Tech9, and the RUclips rap scene as a whole (a lot of these artists have better songs than most mainstream artists. Sorry if you consider this a cop out).
@@addictedtoJB Oh good list
#AlgoBoost
Hahahaha walk all over the house!!!!! Royce's 7 mins response vid he is walking everywhere in his house whipping his phone everywhere making the viewer dizzy
Harry Mack Omegle bars reaction!!
Almost got my sub should’ve finished the first track to make it genuine and for the record I got Lupe for the dub 🙌🏽
Now you should do Mickey Facts diss "Wraith"
Royce made his own version of mural
and it was shiiiiiiit. That was clearly a mistake. He thought he did something special too going off his instagram comments.
I need that Mickey Factz reaction ASAP.
He cant educate lupe lol
Long shot? Oh No Sir! He won by a lung shot. Lupe killed that man. Took the breath out of his lungs like Zaheer from Legend of Korra
The thing is this all started to prove who is the best. Royce went in with mentality but Lupe went for more direct personal diss and cuts.
Royce called him a bit*h and thought it would be friendly? That's his fk up
The Royce diss was whack, not just it's too complicated for average listeners as it mimics Em's style but accusing Lupe for being an uncle tom 'You respect white people more than you love black people', implying that Lupe is a handicapped, that line of 'we gon' do this for Kanye' implying support for Ye, and 'I like my crackers dead and white' is race bars, is Royce being racist to white and black people and falsely accusing Lupe whilst showing support for Ye. Black racists exist as racism, nationalism, supremacism and ethnocentrism are not demographic dependent and will take anyone into the ideology. That's already a BIG L when you accuse someone with no proof of such claims, that's super lame, you should have picked that up in your reaction and noted that.
Lupe & the third 1-0
I'm super late now you probably know this but royce was clearly showing off his lyrical skills because the beef started because they were arguing about who is the best.
But I REALLLLLLY wanted lupe to flex lyrically I think that he will WAAAAAAAAAASH Royce.
If it wasn't four, four, four, four, I got a dozen more (D12)
Two completely different classes Royce & Lupe put on.
Lupe got it, one thing I didn't understand was when he said he didn't listen to the diss then references it but everything else yeah killed it
Lupe did a live after dropping this and said he listened to the first minute before shutting it off (which is why all the references are from that first 60 seconds of Royce's track)
@@ejecto_seato Thanks that makes sense now
All those Heaven References is because Royce Da 5’9” home studio is named Heaven.
“He always in heaven cause he already dead”
Royce stays in his studio and has said that numerous times on the pod.
Royce is rapping rapping Lupe was battling
Lupe track gives me killshot vibes. Not sure what it is. Maybe pace or layed back flow. Anyone else get them vibes.
This reminds me of the duppy Freestyle... King Pusha wanted all the smoke but Aubrey gave it to kanye
Comparing Royce to mumble rap… controversial my guy 😂
But I get it 😂😂😂
In Royce's defense, I interpreted "big gums and small teeth" like "all bark and no bite," and if that's what he meant, that's a genuinely clever way to put it.
Lu still bodied him, though.
React to the new Dave Album pls it is really good tbh
This whole thing started over who was the better rapper royce went and flexed his pen game lupe came at it as a diss track two different perspectives on the situation cant really compare the two royce threw out some shots but you cant tell his point was to show his talent
You call someone a bitch and expect him to not be a real diss…that’s his fuck up
@@TheThirdErnest forgot in the rap game calling anyone a bitch was still a big thing lol
