      Just so you know. A single venator can have around 7,200 personnal, hundreds of fighters, an entire armor column and several transports. A single venator being deployed is more then enough to control an entire region on the planet. 3 venators taking what was classified as a neutral city with next to 0 planetary defenses outside of whatever troops that were deployed on the planet is honestly kind of overkill considering how skilled clone troopers are in combat.

      @@iamgamerfun4032 the separatists brought several battleships and heavy escort ships to most battles. 3 venators might be enough to waste an entire system in a ground campaign, but bringing more than 3 capitol ships should be common sense for fleet battles

      @mattiasandersson8693 10 месяцев назад +82

      Hes probably reffering to losing a lot of their fighter wings. Them going down is a huge defensive loss, since it opens you up for bombers to get to their capital ships. As for the lasers not doing any visible damage to the cruisers, we only see the beginning of the engagement, so the shields are still functional. At those ranges it takes a while, even for the republic turbo laser batteries to get through.

      Trying to replace them with the ARC-170 was probably not the Republic's brightest move. _Then again, shit designs happen in wars all the time._

    • @Optimusprime240
      @Optimusprime240 Месяц назад +3

      A mix would have served them FAR better. The ARC 170 is am amazing attack aircraft, packing enough firepower to gouge chunks out of any warship or rip apart corvettes/bombers. Have a flight of Z95's flying as escort for them, and any droid fleet is in for a LOT of hurt! They'd probably have been a great replacement for Y Wings instead, as they pack as much firepower while still being decent at defending themselves
      Playing empire at war I rely on z95s and Arcs entirely as the republic, and they've NEVER let me down!

    • @legomaster9190
      @legomaster9190 Месяц назад

      @@Optimusprime240 The idea of combining ships on their style is not something we have seen too much in the Star Wars canon. There are some, obviously, perhaps the most known ones from the OT: attack on the first and second Death Star, for example. It could have definitely worked in the Republic's favor to do some mixing...
      Also your comment about Empire at War brought good memories to the surface. Haha, I too remember building, like, over 100 squadrons of ARC-170s. I'd bring a small capital ship, such as an Aclamator or similar and then just call in the horde of fighters. Usually they'd be enough to deal with any type of enemy, be it a space station or smaller enemy fleets. With some, more heavy cruisers and capital ships, I'd usually try to have a Venator or two on the ready to take down anything that proves too much for the fighters. On the downside, the casualties would be very high but building that fleet of ARC-170s is rather easy...
      This was possible in the old version of the game. The updated one doesn't have ARC-170s as a buildable option, they only spawn from capital ships now. I guess the change was done after the realization of how over powered those fighters truly are!

    Honestly if i was a clone i wouldn't want to be a pilot the thought of going up against those fighter droids who have no fear and nothing to lose your fighting a AI pilot that's been programed with skills before it was even turned on f*** that.

    • @ChipCheerio
      @ChipCheerio 10 месяцев назад +17

      Apparently the Vulture droids weren’t very bright, so while they could pull off insane maneuvering they were kind of predictable if you fight enough of them.
      However they also were supposed to be deployed in massive swarms that would just rip apart most clone fighters long before they got to that point. Also Tri-fighters, which were just coked out of their minds and almost impossible to actually deal with if you’re not a main character.
      Being a clone pilot is the worst job in the entire republic

    One of the sad parts is that barring Palpatine's interference, neither side is really the 'good guy'. The Clone Wars brought technical advancements that had stagnated since the Old Republic but the loss is the morals of each side. Still, I like the CIS more than the Republic since they use droids over organics (though, there are still plenty of organics that voluntarily fight) but they are cheap when it comes to their gear, soldiers, and equipment.

      The Arc-170s were carrying too big a risk (one Arc-170 blowing up means 3 clone pilots dying) in the final year of the war, especially when the genetic materials for cloning had declined greatly. I know that they were still heavily featured in RotS but that’s my take on it. As for the absence of the V-wing, they were only used in the final days of the clone wars whereas this battle probably took place 8 months to a year before that time
