Beware, there is a manufacturing issue with the screen hinges they come off easily. HP acknowledged the issue but won't repair any laptop after the warranty period.
Yeah my brother experienced this, he had to replace the entire lid and they couldn’t find a white one so it has this pretty cool looking two tone effect
It did for my brother’s x360 13, the screen also cracked with it so we had no choice but to replace the entire lid, which they didn’t find a color matching one, there was only a black one and the one he had was white, so they just settled on putting the black on and after that there were no issues.
ive had this laptop for quite a while and something of note is to be careful with the hinges and opening the laptop, the right hinge on my x360 15" sheared from the inside cause its screwed into plastic, so do be careful!

So It I used it long period of time but one day I opend the laptop and it cracked the hinge broke and the screen too. I was looking for same model hoping it will be improved version and have stronger hinges, but after reading the comments I see it's still a big issue.

@@Elecerv The screen is very fragile and expensive to fix, so be careful with it. I've had mine for a few years now and my biggest complaint is the fragile screen and the dim display. Performance wise, it's a nice laptop and I believe the RAM can be upgraded if you wish

The Spectre is far superior to Envy in terms of performance. Envy is an option for people on a budget, suitable for work and every day tasks while Spectre has better performance altogether. Perhaps it would be better for your needs, but it is not a better laptop all things considered
How in 2022, can HP produce a laptop with a poor gamut of 47% for both Adobe RGB & DCI-P3? Then again, their latest display screens wobble like Jell-O. This company has really gone down in quality.
I have been using an envy x360 13" with a Ryzen 7 4700U since September 2020. It's not a perfect laptop but it's very versatile and pretty cheap for a solid 2 in 1 laptop. I wish I had bought the 15" version cause 13" is a little bit too small for me especially for programming. Unfortunately in Europe the laptop doesn't come with a pen in the box but I saw that it does in other regions.

I just got 1 with a 4700u in it. It has a weird issue, The mouse movement lags when the display adapter is enabled, when i keep the adapter disabled or on the Microsoft default drivers it works fine, but as soon as i update the driver to any newer version(I've tried installing older drivers) the lag comes back. Not that great if you’re a heavy user. I find myself getting to the charger once or twice a day depending on how much work I’m doing on it. Over all I love the laptop I just feel they could’ve done better on the Battery area. Turning off keyboard lights makes the battery last a little longer I usually only turn them on to the lowest setting when I’m working in bed with my room lights off. It’s a very nice sleek design. Mind you, I love slim and sleek designs on all my electronics. I find myself just staring at it sometimes, it’s just that nice looking. I like how the keyboard is lit, No RGB. Performance is great if you get the standard model. At this moment I’m upgrading ssd and RAM as I’m planning to do some video editing and transferring some 4K HDR videos to it so 256g isn’t enough for me anymore.

You first need to know if the model you have can even be upgraded since certain models have soldered in ram. Second you can look for a guide on RUclips for opening your specific model or a similar one. If you can upgrade the RAM you can buy it from any retailer so long as it is the same generation (ddr4 or ddr5). Slotting new RAM is easy as well you just pull the latches to remove the old ram and insert and push down for the new RAM.
I've owned one for 5 years and it is one of the worst purchases I've ever made. The battery died (literally) after 2 years, making me unable to use it without being plugged in. The mouse-pad is a desaster, especially the physical buttons. The keyboard is alright, not great. Not to speak of all the bloat that hp (like dell) is known for...

Mine broke after 2 years, at the right hinge, same issue as everyone (the screen separates at the hinge assembly). right in the middle of a school semester and a couple of months out of warranty, and I can't really afford a new one. Don't put yourself into such a situation if you can prevent it, get a better laptop. I recommend buying a used dell or lenovo business laptop for work, they tend to be well built. Also, maybe avoid 360 hinges. On the envy x360 15 2020 I have, they didn't serve much as the laptop is too heavy to use as a tablet, and flipping the hinge a lot (which i did not do) destroys the hinge faster.
@basladru2119 -- isn't your laptop still under warranty? -- why can't you receive service from HP? I'm asking because I'm trying to decide whether to go with HP, Dell, or a different brand of laptop.
I have it for over a month now. Overall I would buy something else. Laptop lags like crazy and takes forever to open files(if it ends up opening). Even when working in Citrix, it so slow

I'm speaking from personal experience when I say the hinges are garbage and switching between tablet and desktop mode makes it worse. Also paying hundreds of dollars on something that kills itself trying to do what it's advertised to do is just unacceptable.

Second you can look for a guide on RUclips for opening your specific model or a similar one. If you can upgrade the RAM you can buy it from any retailer so long as it is the same generation (ddr4 or ddr5). Slotting new RAM is easy as well you just pull the latches to remove the old ram and insert and push down for the new RAM.

I've owned one for 5 years and it is one of the worst purchases I've ever made. The battery died (literally) after 2 years, making me unable to use it without being plugged in. The mouse-pad is a desaster, especially the physical buttons. The keyboard is alright, not great. Not to speak of all the bloat that hp (like dell) is known for...

@@Ava2969ny yes. don't buy them. Mine broke after 2 years, at the right hinge, same issue as everyone (the screen separates at the hinge assembly). right in the middle of a school semester and a couple of months out of warranty, and I can't really afford a new one. Don't put yourself into such a situation if you can prevent it, get a better laptop. I recommend buying a used dell or lenovo business laptop for work, they tend to be well built. Also, maybe avoid 360 hinges. On the envy x360 15 2020 I have, they didn't serve much as the laptop is too heavy to use as a tablet, and flipping the hinge a lot (which i did not do) destroys the hinge faster.

It’s garbage. I used it once as a tablet and when I tried to close it one hinge popped out. Will never buy it ever again.

I have it for over a month now. Overall I would buy something else. Laptop lags like crazy and takes forever to open files(if it ends up opening). Even when working in Citrix, it so slow

@@kiingzay731 that doesn't change that fact that the laptop has a fatal flaw. I'm speaking from personal experience when I say the hinges are garbage and switching between tablet and desktop mode makes it worse. Also paying hundreds of dollars on something that kills itself trying to do what it's advertised to do is just unacceptable.
