Bought one at the beginning of the year based on Ben's previous review and it's a nice laptop. Yep the battery life is not that strong, 6 hours with my work cycle. It's perfect for productivity work plus it's upgradeable.

Beware, there is a manufacturing issue with the screen hinges they come off easily. HP acknowledged the issue but won't repair any laptop after the warranty period.

Yeah my brother experienced this, he had to replace the entire lid and they couldn’t find a white one so it has this pretty cool looking two tone effect

@nobodyknows3340 I don't know, check the laptop's lid cover (where the HP logo is). If it's still thin plastic, then the problem is still there.

I bought one for $80 used with a cracked screen. It has the R5-5625U. Great laptop.
Thi s was an amazing review. I am actually typing my review from my brand-new envy device right now. This is so dope how it's able to immediately convert to a tablet while on RUclips. I'm so super excited to see just how functional this device is for me. Right now, I'm testing and excited at the same time. Wink. Thanks for sharing! I had 2016 hp envy x360 and finally got upgrade to asus x16 flow yesterday, so the timing on this video is funny to me.
I currently own the Spectre x360 13.5 but battery is horrible.
I mainly use mine for school work and occasional web browsing/window shopping.

The Spectre is far superior to Envy in terms of performance. Envy is an option for people on a budget, suitable for work and every day tasks while Spectre has better performance altogether. Perhaps it would be better for your needs, but it is not a better laptop all things considered

ive had this laptop for quite a while and something of note is to be careful with the hinges and opening the laptop, the right hinge on my x360 15" sheared from the inside cause its screwed into plastic, so do be careful!
Hey I had that same issue. Apparently it's an issue with the older models though.
@@Lo33y_ I repaired mine by replacing the clamshell, easy fix but still a bit frustrating lol, don’t know why they put metal inserts into plastic.

@@Simulacrum0354 yeah I was going to just fix it myself. But the insurance company offered a replacement that was a newer model so went with that.

I have been using an envy x360 13" with a Ryzen 7 4700U since September 2020.
It's not a perfect laptop but it's very versatile and pretty cheap for a solid 2 in 1 laptop.
I wish I had bought the 15" version cause 13" is a little bit too small for me especially for programming.
Unfortunately in Europe the laptop doesn't come with a pen in the box but I saw that it does in other regions.

Yep, just happened to me and I rarely use it in tablet mode. Shake bc I love it, luckily I had the three year care package, so I should be protected.

It did for my brother’s x360 13, the screen also cracked with it so we had no choice but to replace the entire lid, which they didn’t find a color matching one, there was only a black one and the one he had was white, so they just settled on putting the black on and after that there were no issues.
How do u enable tablet mode?

I had this laptop now since December 2022 and love it! No problems because i don't use it in tablet mode. I believe tablet mode is destroying the hinges so don't do it

does it support battery charge limiter or not !? because i use my laptop plugged in to the adaptor most of the times and it's a very important feature me.
Most laptops with Realtek audio have this low volume issue. In every case the solution was in Settings/Sound/Advanced/Enhancements/Sound Equalization. Fixed the inadequate volume issue every time. But recently Realtek eliminated that option. Enhancements is still there, but options are not. Why they would do that is unknown. Some suggest they want to sell add on audio apps. Sounds about right. The ONLY answer for those like HP stuck with Realtek is in remote speakers or headphones, both of which still work as they should. Realtek has not "fixed" them yet. Terrible waste of Bang and Olufsen speakers. Money thrown away. Realtek is chinese so a fix for this complete failure is unlikely. They already have your money. And HP does seem interested as they also already have your money. Planning to return it.

Seems like lots of folks are complaining about hinges breaking easily. Was considering buy this laptop. Looks like I'm going to have to change my mind. 😂

Hi, I just bought an hp envy a few days ago new from best buy. its the amd ryzen 7000 seires with 8gb and 256 ssd. Id like to upgrade the memory and ssd. what do you reccomend i go with? Tia!
Since he never responded, I recommend either Corsair or Crucial. I used Corsair on my desktop and laptop and haven't had any issues. They both also offer tons of variety in terms of size and speed.
I got this laptop after seeing this review and have had it for the last 11 moths as my daily driver. I would reccomend this laptop to anyone except it's a bit heavy.

Battery issue as separate from battery life. Mine shut down randomly (while plugged in). An initial investigation reveals others have the same problem. Solution? Changing out the battery ...
What if I just leave it plugged in as my DAW/interface home computer? The 16 gb 512ssd and thunderbolt was a seller.

I got the laptop and noticed that the touchpad sticks if you rest your wrist on the left side of the touchpad. It's a known issue

I just got 1 with a 4700u in it. It has a weird issue, The mouse movement lags when the display adapter is enabled, when i keep the adapter disabled or on the Microsoft default drivers it works fine, but as soon as i update the driver to any newer version(I've tried installing older drivers) the lag comes back. Really need any kind of help here

I think hp victus core i7 .. rtx 3050 ti will be great in that case.... Don't run after slimness... You will regret

i owned this laptop and play witcher 3 with a ps5 controller without issue but my only gripe is 256gb fill up fast... i bought it at bestbuy but mine didnt come with a pen, i havent upgrade ram yet

How in 2022, can HP produce a laptop with a poor gamut of 47% for both Adobe RGB & DCI-P3? Then again, their latest display screens wobble like Jell-O. This company has really gone down in quality.

I’ve recently bought HP Envy x360 15-fe0514sa 15.6”, processor Intel i5 with 8 gb RAM.
My question is does this particular model allow me to change the RAM to 16 GB? Cheers
You first need to know if the model you have can even be upgraded since certain models have soldered in ram. Second you can look for a guide on RUclips for opening your specific model or a similar one. If you can upgrade the RAM you can buy it from any retailer so long as it is the same generation (ddr4 or ddr5). Slotting new RAM is easy as well you just pull the latches to remove the old ram and insert and push down for the new RAM.

Have been using this pc for 9 months now... SO DISAPOINTED... all sort of problems I've had with it, software, hardware, recently the bottom part has splinted . Costumer support was poor as well. Will never come back to HP

What’s the battery life peeps in real world?
Not that great if you’re a heavy user.
I find myself getting to the charger once or twice a day depending on how much work I’m doing on it. Over all I love the laptop I just feel they could’ve done better on the Battery area. Turning off keyboard lights makes the battery last a little longer I usually only turn them on to the lowest setting when I’m working in bed with my room lights off. It’s a very nice sleek design. Mind you, I love slim and sleek designs on all my electronics. I find myself just staring at it sometimes, it’s just that nice looking. I like how the keyboard is lit, No RGB. Performance is great if you get the standard model. At this moment I’m upgrading ssd and RAM as I’m planning to do some video editing and transferring some 4K HDR videos to it so 256g isn’t enough for me anymore.
After 2 years my battery life is ok at best definitely not anything to write home about

@basladru2119 -- isn't your laptop still under warranty? -- why can't you receive service from HP? I'm asking because I'm trying to decide whether to go with HP, Dell, or a different brand of laptop.
My laptop was just out of warranty.
I've owned one for 5 years and it is one of the worst purchases I've ever made. The battery died (literally) after 2 years, making me unable to use it without being plugged in. The mouse-pad is a desaster, especially the physical buttons. The keyboard is alright, not great. Not to speak of all the bloat that hp (like dell) is known for...

@@Ava2969ny yes. don't buy them. Mine broke after 2 years, at the right hinge, same issue as everyone (the screen separates at the hinge assembly). right in the middle of a school semester and a couple of months out of warranty, and I can't really afford a new one. Don't put yourself into such a situation if you can prevent it, get a better laptop. I recommend buying a used dell or lenovo business laptop for work, they tend to be well built. Also, maybe avoid 360 hinges. On the envy x360 15 2020 I have, they didn't serve much as the laptop is too heavy to use as a tablet, and flipping the hinge a lot (which i did not do) destroys the hinge faster.

@@kiingzay731 that doesn't change that fact that the laptop has a fatal flaw. I'm speaking from personal experience when I say the hinges are garbage and switching between tablet and desktop mode makes it worse. Also paying hundreds of dollars on something that kills itself trying to do what it's advertised to do is just unacceptable.
