There's no denying that the Cateye Silverado is one of the most polarizing trucks on the market today. Some guys love them, some guys hate them. Today I sit down and go over the top 5 reasons why I love my LBZ Duramax.
I loved my cat. I Silverado also it was one of the best trucks I ever had. Comfortable ran. Great. Super reliable. Fantastic truck. Now I have a 2017 one ton Duramax and that thing is a beast. Can't get any better than that. Good luck on the channel bro. Keep up the good work.

LB7 Duramax 2003-2004, LLY Duramax 2004.5-2006 , Duramax LBZ 2006-2007 , the best body style for Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Denali .
Nice video. Love watching you. I love the LBZ. I have one in a 03 suburban and it is absolutely a monster. I even put the cat eye nose on the suburban. The LBZ I think is the most reliable duramax to date.

It’s funny, I have a friend of mine Who had an LML Duramax (GMC). He built the shit out of it, sold it for a 6.7 powerstroke. He built the shit out of that and sold it for another LML. He spent another 30k building this one and at this point, he’s blown so much money on trucks he’s about had it with lighting money ablaze. He’s finally crawling his way back to owning an LBZ. A truck that can do everything the LML could, looking just as good too, for a fraction of the price. You could buy one for 20, sink 30,000 into it, and still be into it for about the price of a nice low mileage LML. you can find any parts you need at AutoZone, and everyone knows how to work on them. Diesel could be eight dollars a gallon and I’m still not selling mine
Literally my exact thought process my guy. It’s unreal how much of a bang for your budget these trucks are.
I’m actually in the works of buying a 06 lbz identical to yours and it’s a lt3 with a sunroof hopefully I get to pick it up next week couldn’t be more excited

Bought my lbz with 280,000 miles on it for a steal it’s mint it’s just a lot of miles bought it out right and already put another 20k on it and still runs strong love lbzs

I’m trying my hardest to save and get one!! So yes I love the LBZ
Mines an 06 with 518k on the odometer, engine and tranny have been replaced with 190k units, and the undercarriage is about as mint as they come with the brakes, steering and suspension all refreshed (it was a hotshot truck most of its life, it’ll never pull a trailer again) hell the original frame stickers are still present. I’ll never get rid of it.
That’s wild the stickers are all still attached. They don’t stay that clean up here

Been a Ford fan most my life but always liked the Duramax trucks. Just got my first Duramax with an Lbz and 116k miles on it. And all I can say is I love this truck as much as I have any of my Mustangs.

@@jessesilva2882 Non clean truck with a clean title. My guess is the 6" lift and 35" tires were making most the people in the area turn away. But it was perfect for me.

Where did you get your row mirrors and headlights. I love the cat eye as I have a 05 LLY that I keep adding things to.
Tow mirrors are from Boost Auto Parts, Headlights are a custom build by Performance Auto Lighting in MN. Both companies are awesome to work with.
That’s why I own 3 of them!! 1 ton dually, 3/4 2500, and single cab single wheel 3500 work truck! All beasts have over 300k 1 over 400k!!

I prefer the LS trim on these trucks , cloth seats , 40/20/40 bench seat is more comfortable than any 2022 truck.

Love the body style and hate the interiors. That's why I bought a 2008 LTZ. I spend more time inside than outside looking at it. Those feelings you got as a kid are what I got in the '80's square body's
Interesting take. I like the interior of the 03-07 trucks more than the 07-14s, but at the end of the day its all personal preference.
@Dusti_LBZ true true, I also just bought a '21 F150 lariat powerboost. It runs circles around my 08 2500 dmax. I tow a 23' Lance travel trailer and 30' express cruiser. My mind is blown how this F150. Does it better.

This one is made by Grid Iron out of Canada. Jesse and his team make some of the best bumpers I've ever seen haha.
even my car guy friends who know nothing about my truck tell me that the cateye trucks are going to be like the 68-72 c10 trucks and always look good

I like in Oklahoma and finding a nice one was hard to do they either want 25,000 plus for a nice one to build or you get a shit box and they want 12 to 15,000 for them and they come with the dreaded vgt code and relearn history and the interior is roached or super high milage I looked for mine for over a month and it all came together the on the 9th of September this year

Yeah I want an lbz duramax but I have a lb7 and it is an awesome truck it drives some much nicer and easier on fuel than my 07 6.0 powerstroke
the LB7 is a great truck, pretty popular with some of the power chasing guys. That fixed geometry turbo is neat.

Yeah, its been an awesome truck for me BUT we did a ton of maintenance to it to make it that way.
Love the LBZ. I have an 06 CC 4x4. 312k on it and it still scratching like a Lion taking off.

@@DustiLBZyeah that bumper is legit. What lift are you running? I’m about to go down this path, last time (LB7 RC 6”) went well didn’t love the height or cv angle, with 35’s. Still want 35’s but I want a cv angle like yours for it to ride like a Cadillac. I’m currently cranked on keys right now lol… at least I know I’m a dumbass haha
@@Zaddy055 Its a 4.5" BDS on 24x14s and 35s. We had to trim the hell out of the cab to get it to clear but I love it. Full Kryptonite front end definitely helps angles too haha.
would you ever buy a 240000 miles 2500 6.6 LBZ for 15k? I’m 17 and have a 2015 Tacoma looking for a diesel.
Mine had roughly the same mileage on it when I bought it.

@@DustiLBZ haha foreal. Truck has Clean title. it’s been around Utah and Nevada for most of its life, so has no rust. Engine and transmission seems healthy, no blow by or CEL. Clean interior, leather looks fine for its age. It’s been in the market for 9months, maybe people realize 23k is too much for an old truck? lol

Love my LBZ.. what performance mods do you have on yours? I’m still mostly stock
I've got an intake, downpipe, exhaust, and a tune. Also has a few other misc goodies like a Banks diff cover and stuff to help keep the truck healthy.

What kind of mods do you have done the motor? Like is it a stock turbo?
Hell yeah man, great trucks. For now mine is stock turbo. Its got a Banks intake and exhaust, 3" downpipe, and got a DSP5 with some tunes on it. Its a pretty mild build but it makes good power for right now.
Could of bought a 2006 lbz with 18,000 miles stored in climate controlled garage for 30k hung on lift most of his life bought a 2021 L5P DURAMAX instead have no regrets.. yeah she's on a diet since 1000 miles runs like a champ
L5Ps are great trucks and someday I hope to own one haha. Just not quite in the cards for me right now.
