- In this video I diagnose and fix the faulty start/stop system in my 2010 e91 BMW 320d.
The error codes were 4AFA and 4AFB
Did this today on the 1 series. Thank you for the video and everyone for the comments! Definitely having long enough tools helps and lots of patience. Hoping ebay part lasts more than a few months don’t fancy doing it again😬
Glad the video helped!
sorted mine thanks to your vid, much obliged mate!
Dan’s tip. I taped the sensor to a hacksaw blade which allowed me to position the new sensor over the socket easily. Was frustrating using screwdrivers and the wire. Pushes in easily if you use some silicon spray first.
Great tip 👍
Thanks bro ‘ worked for me too ‘ got original used.
No problem. I hope it helps 👍
Does this part cause the brake to become spongy and soft and the auto stop doesn’t work ?
thanks for the video, what system you using for diagnose?
Does this pop out towards the front of the car? Had a go yesterday , wouldnt pop out , bit of resistance there , im guessing because its a vacum?
Is this for all 3 series I have 2006 325i with same problems
Hey, thanks for posting this, exactly the same fault as I have with no start/stop either. What plug in diagnostics are you using for you laptop ?
Hey, no problem! I hope you get yours sorted easily 👍
The diagnostics program is called ISTA/D.
Hi, great video, can you please put a link to a working free version of the software to download. Also a link to the hardware connector you have used would be very useful. Thanks
It's been years since I was able to get a copy of the software, I'm sure bmw forums may be able to point you in the right direction. I bought a used genuine item from eBay 👍
Hey I have the error codes 3702 brake vacuum plausibility with the yellow brake warning light and the red stop engine light. Bought 2nd hand sensor from local mini specialist and fitted it in. Warning lights still coming up but i havent cleared the codes via diagnostic tool or will it just reset itself whilst driving. Not sure if the part i installed was faulty or working but initial part that was already on the car had plenty of vacuum pressure in there before i uninstalled it. Any help i would appreciate
Hi. Sorry... completely missed this comment. Hopefully you got your issue sorted 🤞
hi what did you end up doing? I have the same fault, did you end up just clearing the codes? thanks
@NeroPiXL Hi I ended up replacing the brake Vaccum sensor underneath the brake fluid reservoir, and then cleared the codes using a diagnostic tool, and the problem was solved. Just make sure u get a good quality sensor as i purchased a 2nd hand one initially but failed to work. Luckily, the part had a 30-day warranty so I swapped it for another 2nd hand one, and that one did work 😂😅
Have you fixed the oil level sensor yet ? I have the same two errors codes on my 118d lol
Hi. Unfortunately not no.. it looks easy enough to do but will need to drop the oil so I'll wait until the next service 👍
Hi
Can you please let me know what do you use to read the fault, as I have bought three different code reader for my 320d bmw but none has worked. They only read the engine and chassis data but when I had fault it did not reas. Had to take it to garage to read the fault and fix it.
ISTA D 👍
Thank you
No problem
Can your car not start because you need steering wheel fluid I have a bmw 328i
I wouldn't have thought low steering fluid would prevent your car from starting
Did you have to code this part to your car?
No, just plugged it in and that was it 👍
Fitted a £20 Amazon jobby, cleared the fault, cheers for your video
That's fantastic! Cheap fix 🎉
i bought a brand new one from bmw... i spent 150..
That's probably the best way to do it... I just didn't want to spend the money 😂
