    I think no matter how many WORLD championships these guys have their Olympic gold medals are what means the most to them! An Olympic gold medalist like Burroughs, Sanderson, Snyder and Taylor is an elite group! These guys are MACHINES!!! To win an Olympic gold medal in such a truly tough sport takes a true warrior!

      distance runners don't usually decline until 35 or later. I think the reason there's not many older wrestlers before now is, at least in the US, there wasn't much money in it. Social media and licensing rights, as well as using social media to draw people to practice centers has made it a lot easier to keep going.

      There are no ties and no overtime in UWW wrestling. In the event of a tied score, someone will always have the advantage. That line indicates who the winner will be if the match ended with that score.

    Knowing nothing outside of high school wrestling, all these whistles make no sense.
    3:20 in and so far every time there is an engagement the ref just blows the whistle and puts them back at neutral.
    Shot gets stuffed, doesn’t even give him time to spin to his back, just blows whistle and starts neutral.
    So it’s a whistle if they’re doing anything other than just standing there or if the takedown isn’t perfectly clean without resistance?
    If someone would like to explain I’d appreciate it. I’m just worried because I’ve seen sports getting watered down to pathetic and I hope it doesn’t happen to wrestling.
    Tried to watch a basketball game but only made 30 seconds (or 3 whistles) in before realizing how we went from Shaq to LeBron.

    • @wrestlingspot
      @wrestlingspot 10 месяцев назад

      Freestyle encourages action on the feet. With regard the the shot that was stuffed, neither wrestler tried to improve their position. The both seems to want the restart so the referee accommodated them.

    Не ужели ни в одной сборной нет ни одного нормального аналитика?! Уже более 10 лет Барроуз выигрывает свои схватки за счёт прохода в ноги! Разве никто не замечает что первое движение у него обманное, а затем , после реакции соперника, когда тот начинает движение чтобы встать в стойку, вот тут Барроуз прыгает в ноги! Именно "прыгает" , а не проходит! А когда ему навязывают борьбу на руках, в захвате, то он начинает сдавать.... Неужели тренера своих сборных не видят это и не могут подготовить план схватки с Барроузом?! Полный абзац! А так скучнейший ЧМ! Американцы в отсутствии россиян вздохнули свободно. По накалу борьбы этот турнир нельзя назвать Чемпионатом мира. Так, в лучшем случае , международный турнир.

      Леонид, я о спорте, а не о личной жизни спортсменов. Кроме Сидакова из сборной России, есть куча сборных со своими представителями в этой весовой категории. Вопрос к этим сборным. Плюс ко всему, почему никто не может дать ответку Барроузу за его якобы швунги на грани фола. Только Гедуев смог его утихомирить. Посмотрите, в каждой схватке он пуляет свою руку в район уха соперника. Никто, даже из более заслуженных борцов не позволяет себе этого делать. Даже среди остальных американцев такие не найдутся. Леонид, прошу, не надо грязи. Это только совпадение наших с Сидаковым инициалов. Но как борец, он вызывает уважение ...
