Jesse Mendez improved immensely since last year. I mean, he took out Yianni, James Green, Joey Mckenna, and Andrew Alirez, and he almost beat Retherford all within a short span of time. Alirez is ostensibly the only wrestler who stands a chance against him next year at NCAA's.

From what I observed, without the benefit of commentary or a scoreboard, was the referee decided this match. Until Alirez made that last desperate attempt, all points were awarded by the ref. I will bet Alirez wins in collegiate matchups.

I like defensive wrestling, but that was a sad match. I hope wrestling doesn’t go this way and become soccer.

imagine losing to a guy 3 years younger than you who’s been in college two years and you’ve been in college seven years and you lose a match in a style you took a year off to train and flo still gives Alirez the number one ranking literally the dumbest thing ever😂😂
