As someone who hasnt owned a floyd but would not be opposed to learning about maintenance and such, should I just get a floyd on ym next aristides order or go with something like a hipshot contour? This is coming from a guy who has played hardtail and tune o matic his whole life. Thanks.

A while ago you did a review on the schecter KM7 which is what I currently have. Obviously in terms of quality Aristides blows it out of the water. But I was wondering how the neck on the 070 compares to the schecter? Skinnier? Wider? Let me know what you think. Thanks!
ShadeofSound from what I remember they are nearly the same but the km felt a bit flatter in the middle from what I recall. aristides has a softer c profile but feels full bodied in a super comfy way. fretwork on an aristides is also literally perfect :)
As the owner of both the RAN Paul reviewed, and this 070, I definitely give the edge to Aristides. The RAN is fantastic, nothing wrong with it at all, but the 070's fretwork is unparalleled.
I love the idea and concept behind these guitars, but god damn that asthetic is not for me. Not that it matters, because they are way out of my price range.
Great review! I don't like how you keep mispronouncing Aristides though. It's AR-is-TI-des. Maybe I watch too much Jeopardy, but I like pronouncing things correctly.
It may be just RUclips but to me, these pups don’t seem to have any midrange response at all. In this video they seem dull sounding. Of course that is subjective and may be the mic used, etc.. I own an AxeFX 2 so I’m aware it may be the patch you’re using. For the record I’m using headphones not my iOS speakers. Would love to hear these in a really well done (audio wise) recording.
I have a video review of a RAN Crusher that has the M6 set which has a pretty accurate tone going on in the intro demo of the video but again this was years ago.

I love those pickups, they are in my 080S and have proven to be incredibly articulate for everything I've thrown at the guitar now. Glad that you ordered one!! I will probably be the one taking photos of it once it is finished ;) ;)

Get a Floyd over a contour unless you want tuning issues. Vintage trems always have tuning issues.

whats are some of your favorite scales to utilize? minor pentatonic is quite boring and doesnt get that nice dark exotic sound.

I use a shotgun mic on my Sony A7 and in terms of the voice over that's when I use my SM7B.

It's not a hollow body, it's a different kind of material that's all!
