- 🎸 I am Trevor Isaac, an independent musician, and guitarist for my band @StandsOnSapphires. In early 2021 I purchased my first ever custom shop @AristidesInstruments in the H/06R Model. It arrived in January 2022 and I've been getting to know and love it ever since. This is my honest review of my build as someone who IS NOT sponsored by Aristides, just a big guitar lover. I talk about exactly what I ordered, my customer service experience, and what I like and don't like about it.

Cool review man. I actually did a review of my h/0 before I sold it. Great guitar, just not a headless guy. Funny you mention about the buzz in standard, I had the same thing and the guys ended up getting it shipped back to them to install a new trem base - no more buzz after that but not sure if it’s the same issue you had. I never left standard tuning on that guitar
Oh really? That’s VERY interesting. Maybe I’ll contact them again and see if they could replace the trem base for me as well. Thanks for the info 😊

I’ll have to try those Lundgren pickups sometimes. I’m a fan of the bare knuckles I ordered 😊

great review, once you got your first aristides your are hooked, i love their guitars!
i have almost the same H/06, mine is lilac too, but with a light fretboard and black/gold hardware
i too was sceptical about fan fret first, but i thought fuck it, lets give it a try and ordered it, and i can confirm, it was really not an issue, it feels really natural and normal, and i can easily switch back to normal guitars. i even think, that fan fret like on this aristides do actually help me in my playing and makes play certain things easier because of the fan frets. i was really suprised by that.

I've got 3 strandbergs. A classic 6 in Malta blue, a Boden original 7 string natural, and a purple Boden original 8 string. These 3 were like my bucket list guitars and now I wanna try aristides
It’s a killer guitar man. I love everything about it! I’ve got a Strandberg Boden 6 as well. Great guitars too but for Aristides is the top of the top on everything from build quality to customer service!
@@StandsOnSapphires I like the idea of the Aristides being a thinner guitar, kinda like an S series from Ibanez. I'm really fond of the necks on strandbergs too. I wish Aristides had that option but it's definitely not a deal breaker.

Great video, is that trem block something you ordered through them? I got a 060R coming in with Floyd rose was goin to add a tremolo No, but yours looks so clean wonder if it’s a part I can order through them.
I ordered it directly from them! So just give ‘em a shout and ask about it man 🤘🏻

Thanks man! The action is great! It plays like butter. Obviously you can set it up as you like anyways but I like my action pretty low and it has no fret buzz or anything with lower action.
awesome review! wish I could find one of these to try out near me. That said, I was surprised that, at this price point and quality level, they still had a screw in bar. Sounds silly, but that would be a huge con for me. Especially if one is used to having a magnetic or tensioned pop-in bar.
Yeah, really hard to find them to try. Basically gotta go to their factory or NAMM lol
The screw is my only real complaint, totally feel ya, just makes it a pain to constantly take in and out

This really made me want one. How easy is it to change tunings, especially drop tunings with the trem? That would be my hesitation for choosing between a hard tail or trem bridge. Thanks for the review and rock on. :)
Sorry I missed this! It’s very easy to change tunings if you get the extra trem lock like I did. Then you basically get the benefits of both 😊
I plan to visit them, we have drone racing place just around the corner where we train. I want some personal time with T series they do. Crazy stuff.

ive seen both of your videos on your kiesel custom headless and this guitar i myself have been considering getting a kiesel or h06r having a hard time picking one just curious if you had any advance if you had to pick one thanks.
If I had to pick one it would be the Aristides hands down. It’s the best guitar I’ve ever owned and the team is incredible. You won’t regret it 😊

Great Playing! Is the guitar's sustain good?
Yes, I find that it’s very resonate and sustains very well to boot. Just as well as any of my other guitars made from wood, if not better than they do!
How bad did you get slammed with duty when you bought this? I also live in Canada and was looking into getting one but was worried about that. Need to factor it in to the price point
Yeah I definitely got hit with duty. It was the usual 12% on the price of the guitar. Standard percentage for BC. Could be cheaper if you’re not here 😂
How does that guitar feel propped on your thigh? It doesn’t seem to have as extreme a cutout there like a steingerg does.
It’s great honestly. I was concerned too at first but it sits really nicely and is very easy to play that way 😊

The only con for me is the price point, I can never afford it :( fortunately I live in the Netherlands so I can try them out someday :)

thanks for the honest review especially for the cons. The bard thing will be a big annoyance for me. I like it stiff. So, I have to make sure I use an original floyd rose on my 070 order. got to go with something I already know.

@@StandsOnSapphires I checked this one out and this guy has no problem with the bar. it is stiff. he has pretty much the same things you have, and he is hitting the Killswitch, and bar doesn't move. might be your bar. ruclips.net/video/-EcE5z-2WzU/видео.html
Oh my problem with the bar was not that it doesn’t stay tight, it’s that I have to screw the side with Alan key to loosen and tighten it instead of it just being magnetic and being able to easily take out and put it back. It stays completely tight once I screw it in 😊
@@StandsOnSapphires ahh I understand now. Oh, but that's not a problem. I love that. But if you are used to something else yeah, I can see how it can be annoying after spending a hefty amount.
Yeah, still works great and they actually emailed me that they are going to look into future refinement based on the feedback I gave from this video. Seriously, such a great company.
