This is one of my favorite meditations. I've been using it pretty much every day. It kicks my ass but is so necessary for my day to day life... I know eventually holding my arms up like that will become easier overtime. But I can feel the tension bubble up and release. I so grateful for this short practice. Thank you for putting this out there for us who struggle

Clearly the speaker does know what she is talking about. Breathing is energy! Pranayama is energy!
I just stumbled upon Anne Novak about a week ago, I have enjoyed all her videos on RUclips. I didn't know she had a DVD out, ordered it last week, waiting with excitement to receive it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of Kundalini yoga with the rest of us!

I did it just now and I feel now so good, I dont have even trail of depression . Really works. With kriya "Fists of Anger" more powerful. It's really big gift which you can use any time when you feel wrong.

I am so grateful for finding this video to practice and heal depression. I have noticed that my breath is shallow and my chest is tight, along with headaches or pressure in my head that makes breathing hard. Thank you Anne for sharing and demonstrating, and thank you Fumio for the percussion. I will use this as a daily practice, and I am deeply grateful. Sat Nam.😊

Yogi Bhajan taught that the word Om or Aum cannot actually be spoken. But rather, is is created in the nasal conch when one chants the word Ong. You feel the sound vibrating in the sinuses. This vibration stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete and brings the entire glandular system into balance. So this is why in the Kundalini Yoga tradition we chant Ong. If you're curious, I recommend that you try it and see for yourself. : )

Kundalini yoga is thousand of years older than Sikhism anyway Yogui Bhajan brought both to the West. The combination is working, we can experience it. Yogi Bhajan insisted that we do not have to believe but to experience the truth. The mantra used in Kundalini Yoga are mostly written in Gurmukhi, languange used by the sikhs. This language comes from Sanskrit. The reason why Yogi Bhajan proposed it is because they have the vibration of the Aquarian Age. We can of course enjoy Kundalini Yoga without being Sikh, really it is something to practice and to like and of course, it is possible that we dislike it ... but nobody is misleading nobody, all questions can be answered. Sat Nam.

Regardless of the exact pronunciation of the om sound, this really does work. I am astonished how quickly I was literally "revived" from a depressed state. Thank you.

This is an amazing meditation. My deepest gratitude for sharing this. I don't know how it works but it just does. The drums make it go by faster and help in keeping count. This is really one of the best meditations that I have ever done.

The breath, breathing is key, very important; in TCM Shiatsu the lungs balance emotions. Eat foods that could help, spicy teas, pears. Great and lovely work. Kundalini meditation is wonderful.

Sat Naam Lucia! Thanks for your message - I am happy to hear that you are benefiting from the practice. The words (written out phonetically) are "Wah Hay Guroo." Make sure to roll the 'r' in guroo so that it sounds like a 'd' and the tip of your tongue hits the roof of your mouth. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Blessings to you.

annenovak1 , I am Romanian and have no problem in pronouncing "om", with or without nasalisation. In Romanian, "om" means "human" and is not so nasal as the sanskrit "aum", but still, we pronounce very clearly the bilabial nasal consonant "m". I saw that the pronounciation of "ong" makes the sound more nasal and sends the focus on the pineal gland. Still, I prefer "om', because "n" (ong) makes me touch the palate with my tongue over the whole practice and it becomes a bit uncomfortable in the long run.

This depression got so deep it feels like I got a lead weight on my chest, makes it real hard to breathe. Meditating on cannabis I can breathe right into the dense energy block, strange stuff starts happening like my hands cramp up, I get intense pins and needles in my chakras, I start getting visions, my body and face starts contorting, I start shaking and tremoring. I really want to be able to do this without the aid of substances

Sat nam!!

This must be the wackiest, the quackiest, and CRAZIEST, advice to manage depression. Though, anyone indoctrinated into your cult may perhaps benefit by the power of suggestion. This video dates from 2012 and it is now 2020. The Sikh phrase of admiration to God, Vaahe Guru, is simply a phrase of admiration and adoration to God. Sikhs refer to God as Guru. You know how you say "Wow" when you think something is admirable? In Hindi/Gurmukhi also, Vaah! means wow! By the way, Manthra Yoga, where a chant is repeated again and again, has traditionally been taught in India from time immemorial.
Yogi Bhajan has created quite a worldwide cult. With women in flowing white robes and flowing white turbans. Very impressive indeed. However, the white robes hide the dark truth about "Yogi" Bhajan: he abused so many people, sexually and otherwise. The Kundalini Yoga cult is just that, a cult. It derives from but is a weird form of Tantra, claiming to elevate the sexual energy from the lower chakras into the higher ones. The practices of so called Kundalini Yoga have very little to do with traditional Yoga. You don't seem to realize that by chanting Waahe Guru you are surrendering to, and claiming belonging to, the Sikh religion. The original chant was Wahe Guru Ji Ki Khalsa (the Sikh society belongs to God) and Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh (victory belongs to the Sikhs who worship the Guru). Your "Ong" is a corruption of "Om,' which the Tibetans like to use as well. Kundalini Yoga has nothing to do with Sikhism, which is the biggest irony. And it has nothing to do with Yoga either.
I EXPECT I MAY GET FLAMED OR TROLLED FOR THIS COMMENT AND IF SO I'LL HAPPILY REMOVE IT. But wake up, people!
Read this about Yogi Bhajan and what all he was up to: gurumag.com/master-of-deceit-how-yogi-bhajan-used-kundalini-yoga-for-money-sex-and-power/

Anne Novak, Please understand Kundalini is an anatomical process / phenomena and not one of Sikhism! It's simply brought to the west or so it's believed by YB. Sikhism and Yoga - no correlation. Yogi B had his own reasons for any correlation between the two ! Not true Sikhi !

Sat nam Ram, Krishna .... This kundalini pranayama, Yoga, is creation of Sanatan Dharma and coming from medieval Yug, more than 5000 years. But Sikhs formed only couple of hundred years ago , you only misleading the people.

This all yogas discovered or followed the way of Lord shiva by Yogies and Rishies. That is why it's is called yoga . But now you chanting wage Guru ! It sounds funny. The mantra is Om Namo Guruve (Guru devaye) Namah: without Guru( teacher) you will not able to learn it. So firstly praying to guru (before) you start is good . You correct it. I don't mind you demonstrating yoga is OK.
