I truly appreciate all clips from this show, especially those with Matt and Tracie in them. They were so very important in determining fact from fiction, especially in regards to religion. Thanks for uploading Tracies fallacy model.
Call in, mail 'em, or drop by the blog. If you live close enough, visit Austin. If you live in the US, its a lot easier than for us Europeans. But you might be able to find similar groups in your area as well.
@rotgeguy544 Pascal's wager only works if you have two options. That's not the case with belief in a diety. You can choose to believe or disbelief in a god, but if your reason for believing in a god is just to play it safe it would make more sense to believe in ALL the gods, and not just one. A christian is just as much at risk of being wrong as an atheist; atheist only believe in one god less than they do.
I wish I could have a guest appearance on this program... they make so much sense. I can talk the the hosts and guests on this show for hours. Thats my fantasty, talking to a human with logic, rational, comprehension and common sense..... those are rare traits in this world.
1 to 2.8E19 probability of any particular roll. However, what are the odds of all dice landing so one face is pointing up instead of on a corner or edge? 100%. That's a metaphor for the physical and chemical processes that drive evolution. Why did amino acids form? That's how atoms combine.
@x246869 ....and (assuming) that's not even taking into concideration where they land. even more possiblities........Showing that the reality of rolling 25 dice and them coming up with any fixed arrangement is impossible!!!!!!
That's a girl!!!!! The mathmatical of random probability :) try the same with picking a pebble off the beach or choosing a grain of sand....Mathmatically impossible and 100% at the same time :)
Well all I can say is if your right your right its not like it's gonna matter in the long run, but if your wrong you have a lot to lose. If you spend your life believing in God and it turns out your wrong oh well you won't be able to remember it or say I didn't have to wake up every Sunday to go to church. If your wrong you have an eternity to spend in Hell (I'm referring to the Christian deity here.) So it's up to you but I hope your right.
ah, -but Tracie, You left the most important thing at home...the 2 thousand year old dice instruction manual...!!!
beastshawnee Lol.
This is a wonderfully hilarious comment! Thank you for it!

I used this equation on my Doctoral thesis at Trump institute of technology (TIT).
Lol

so refreshing to watch such rational pple talking about rational topics. Keep up the good work guys!
@joelmartens, Matt gets it right but Tracie doesn't. Just take it as proof that being wrong about one thing doesn't negate anything else one says :)
Ha! Latest proof of gods' existence: "Argument from Dice."
Do you have a better chance of winning at Supernatural Transendent craps? Or just a higher chance of thinking you will win?
It's okay because she's cute when she laughs
It's dice!
Die is singular, dice is the plural.
I know this takes nothing away from the model, but I'm a pedant and it was annoying me.
She's so brilliant
1 divided by (6 to the power 25)
@jasonoatmeal It's the other way around. Die is singular, dice plural.
Tracie found a damn good model. Nice going man. I owe you a highfive if we ever emet.
@Domzdream it's like saying... how many dog are in that dog house? The die/dice thing is confusing, though.
You obviously are not familiar with the equation: (ignorance + stupidity) × (arrogance + intellectual dishonesty) = god.
@x246869 ....and (assuming) that's not even taking into concideration where they land. even more possiblities........Showing that the reality of rolling 25 dice and them coming up with any fixed arrangement is impossible!!!!!!
28 430 288 029 929 701 376 ways to roll the 25 dice.
But the chance of landing heads up is 0% assuming no dice have heads on them :)
Tracie is awesomeness. I'm loving the Fallacy Model
god does not play dice
@instereovideos
Same here. I keep hoping Matt would correct her.
@lewisner oh lol well if you think about it that way I guess. Not the corrects stats to use but ok.
@lewisner ...I don't get it.
@2008jazzii *correct
@Domzdream They are both very intelligent people. :-)
@TheAtomicist42 I once asked a Catholic if the eucharist was magically delicious.......he didn't find it very funny :)
@TheAtomicist42 Yes I can. God can't play dice if he doesn't exist. See ya.
Tracie, could you please look at the camera, us, the audience, so we can see your beautiful smile :)

Tophat
That’s Pascal’s wager...
It’s utter rubbish
She keeps using "die" in the plural sense, and it's buggin me. Good model, though.
