Slot has a way of explaining things in a manner that anyone could understand his thoughts. I'm a Liverpool fan and we can't discount Trent's dream of becoming Liverpool Captain, it's his life's dream and he has said it on many occasions. The player himself just last week was taken out of context in comments he made. The media, as usual, took 1 line from a very concise answer the lad gave where the most important thing he said was "i have never played my contract talks out in public, and this time won't be any different". The media chose to go with the line he gave where he said he will be a Liverpool player for this season for sure....he isn't lying and he was smiling when he said it. It's tongue in cheek and he is playing with the media and they took the bait. Let's see what the lad decides and if he goes, good luck to him. He isn't daft, he won't base his decision purely on a friendship with Bellingham. If his dream is to Captain his boyhood club, why would he give that up for a friendship with another player. If Liverpool offer him the right money, he will stay.
I think he’ll leave as well. Already started saying things like depends on if we can win trophies, becoming captain. He's staying if the new manager impresses him, it's clear what he wants.... To captain Liverpool and win trophies. One however is not enough, if we don't look like challenging then he will likely be off, being captain won't be enough on it's own.
Liverpool have left it late but it was just bad timing, if Klopp was here he would have been signed up already but he left and everything got put on hold, now we have a new guy who isn't at this moment in time the biggest name in the world so he needs to prove himself to Trent because if he gets a new deal it will be a long one. The likes of VVD and Mo are convinced already it seems that we will continue to fight as its pretty clear both want to stay, however Trent is the first one to sort out and then the other two can be dealt with.

I think one of the big factors that might make Trent decide to go to Real Madrid is furthering his England ambitions. He has been messed around a lot in and out of favor at that level but I think playing with Jude week in week out will only enhance their on field connection and therefore make them a great asset to England as a pair rather than just individually and therefore winning trophies with England also becomes more realistic.

If I were TAA I would join Real Madrid. I think they are the only club in world football who you just cannot turn down.The stadium, city, history, tradition, players, fans, and the absolutely ridiculous amounts of European Cup's they win. He has won the lot at Liverpool and is about to complete 9 years service in the first team. He owe's Liverpool absolutely nothing.
Also Liverpool are going through a huge transition. It might not feel like it this season, but VVD and Salah's contracts are up this year and it's Allison next year. The new manager may want to build his own side around new singings, so it really is a crossroads time for the whole club. Maybe if VVD and Salah commit to new deals there is a chance that TAA might follow suit, but I don't see it. Again, I just do not think you can turn down Real Madrid.
