    It’s very simple. Utd struck lucky with getting an academy class who all turned out to be decent, and got there act together business wise before the others, giving them the power to spend when needed on the best players available. Once teams could compete financially in terms of buying players like Chelsea and then Man City, their huge advantage was gone, now it became a more even playing field

      Yeah but ManUtd still won 2 more PL's (should've been at least 4 more, with VAR would've been) than Chelski from the Abramovic period until Ferguson left and people always pretend Man$ity's money upset ManUtd the most but not only was I originally pleased for a team (Chelski) other than ManUtd to frustrate Arsenal when Chelsea were bought but Man$ity coming 5/6 years after Abramovic's arrival was actually the most inconvenient for Chel$ea who were the only 'sugardaddy' team in the PL until then so if ManUtd or Arsenal were having an off season or in the middle of building a stronger team that needed time Chel$ea would easily take advantage until Man$ity came along plus again having Man$ity made for a fairer competition overall if ManUtd unluckily lost to Chelsea because of the decisions they always got then ManCity could beat Chelsea to even it out a bit (although still didn't stop ManUtd being robbed of the 4 in a row in 2009/10) plus Man$ity achieved greater things and winning in better styles that Chelsea couldn't even buy.

    7:27 How can Butt not remember he never finished lower than 3rd for ManUtd lol
    Also ManUtd only lost by the narrowest of margins the season before the treble yet he thought it was a lot more comprehensive. Maybe he got it mixed up with 2001/02 or 2003/04 but still a bit weird because ManUtd easily could've had 6 PL's in a row 1995/96 to 2000/01 especially if Scholes gets the pen he should've got at 2-2 at Highbury Nov97 plus injuries cost ManUtd that season and the fact they played ChampionsLeague & Arsenal were barely in Europe at all. Only started finishing 3rd when the team were experimenting new things and having to change the formation to fit the new signings in but keep other quality players on. Still were doing better in ChampionsLeague than Arsenal though.
    Or maybe it's because the standards were higher in Butt's time at the club. He probably felt anything other than 1st was nothing.

      No it was 5 trophies/pieces of silverware in 1 calender year not season. 3 in 1 and the other season they only won one-game competitions (CharityShield & SuperCup and the shield isn't counted as a major trophy, whenever it's been ManUtd winning that people never count it or say they were trophyless if it ended up being all they won including the players at least in the Ferguson era where there was higher standards and I don't know if they view the SuperCup the same).

    • @FootkerSnooball
      @FootkerSnooball Месяц назад

      @dresantorini1770 Plus the LeagueCup is often known as the MickeyMouseCup and they only had to beat a lower league Birmingham in the final which went to pens.
      To win 5 trophies in 1 season you would've had to have won at least 1 probably both of the big 2 trophies PL & CL (at least in seperate seasons and pretty much all the other trophies up for grabs in the next season after qualifying for them by winning CL) which of course Liverpool around that time didn't win either competition and didn't compete in CL fullstop in 2000/01 where they won those 3 trophies.
      Not saying Murphy was a bad player though...and he did well with Fulham (or very well actually for Fulham's standards).

  • @Noisehead101

    Cos they had more money than anyone until Chelsea got bought out. United were spending 30 million on a CB over 20 years ago, crazy. @Two_Seat_Pete_FatA55
      They bought RioFerdinand with their own money but that only cancelled out Arsenal getting SolCampbell who was even more in his peak from Spurs for FREE he shouldn't even be signing from Spurs to Arsenal really, nor for free and they probably couldn't have afforded him for his real valuation or only if they did as a part exchange for 1of their own stars and at least ManUtd earned the money unlike Chelsea who didn't deserve to have an endless supply at all.
      Ferdinand may not have been worth 30mil at the time ManUtd got him (some would've said he was he was rated highly then) but they spent what was required to get him as it was well worth it for his longevity and I don't understand how him being a defender makes it more ridiculous. All positions are important and a year before that Juventus bought Buffon a goalkeeper for I think 32 mil or something. Ferdinand ended up being part of a defence that holds a PL record 15 years on most amount of mins without conceding and still clinging on to another good record also from 15 years ago the ChampionsLeague unbeaten game run. It's not like ManUtd always got defenders for loads. Most of that solid ManUtd defence were cheap or from the academy.

He shouldn't have gone to Arsenal from Spurs even if Arsenal could afford him at his real valuation which they couldn't unless they part exchanged maybe, at least go to ManUtd if you're leaving Spurs for trophies (or abroad).
      ManUtd with Ferguson wouldn't usually pay that much at all for defenders/GK's but he was worth it for longevity.

First club to rebuild the stadium and increased the capacity ,first club to use the club merchandise to boost their income and so on. They bought well but never in huge numbers, only foreign players they had were Cantona,Schmeichel in the days of Serie A was unmatched with their ridiculous super star names ,massive transfer fees..They achieved everything with sheer hard work, good planning..They won things and built on it to attract better players.

      Other way round. Had VAR existed when ManUtd were the best team they would've won so much more than they did and more records (i.e City shouldn't have been first PL team to win 4 in a row ManUtd were robbed in 2009/10), looking at all big decisions for & against throughout the years (anti-ManUtd fans like you only think of the one's in favour of ManUtd and every team get decisions for & against but ManUtd aren't allowed to be normal they have to be robbed most games for you to be satisfied, I know ManUtd had games where they'd have pretty much nothing and so many times both good & bad often resulting in ManUtd winning and people like you only wanted to count the good ones they got) ManUtd should've won more PL's looking at this and the points margins of winning title's/losing title's, would've won more FAcups & more ChampionsLeague's too. Always had to be the most deserving ChampionsLeague winner in terms of looking at the whole campaign to win it. Never won it because of bad decisions or a lucky cup run because the year it would've been an easy route 2004 they were robbed vs Porto when Scholes was played ONside by 4 Porto players.

      Fergie time just means attacking until the end wearing teams down and scoring late goals but anti-ManUtd fans like you think it means goals when too much time was added on. They weren't highest scorers in the PL constantly just because of a few late goals that you think were later than should've been allowed (especially as by a few I literally mean a few over the course of many seasons if at all, if I'm wrong you tell me which ones were after the whistle should've blown because the game I remember the most for so called controversial amount of time added on was ManUtd 4-3 ManCity in the season ManUtd were cheated out of 4 in a row by the way 2009/10...and they quickly verified after working it all out it was proven correct, there's also been several lies told about certain games ManUtd scored in the 97th minute or 99th or something like that when you can look those games up and it says 93rd or 94th etc...3/4 mins added on is normal it would be abnornal if it were less).
