Liverpool supporter. I hope Amorim has got guarantees from the club's owners. He does look like the most promising manager appointment since Ferguson stepped down. But he needs the club itself to sort out many of the current issues. I wish him well, but then I wished ETH well too when he was appointed. The P.L. needs as many clubs as possible performing as well as possible for competitiveness and entertaining football. That's the reason I want to see United improve.
Just to correct Jamie... Gerard Houllier was successful, after Kenny. Klopp was much later, but lets give that wonderful French man the credit he deserves. RIP.
Redknapp was everything that was wrong with football during that time. He has a resentment towards Houllier because Houllier wanted rid of the Spice Boys image & to get Liverpool back on the map. That Redknapp was just an overrated sicknote who cared more about his image than football. He was exactly the same when he went to THEM but I enjoyed it, Henry sent him well & truly to the retirement home!
I used to think ex-liverpool players criticizing too much were a hinderance when liverpool fell from grace ... but these guys are next level! Part of the l reason the media can keep churning out stories to mock man u is thanks to these guys jumping over themselves to tear the club down.

Because they wanted united to succeed they want the team to achieve what they achieved themselves It's not because they love having a dig at there former club
I don't think many clubs have fallen off so majorly as man united though. Arsenal. liverpool. chelsea tottenham all still fighting for stuff. Man utd? fighting relegation
Hojlund has scored 11 goals since he signed for united 😂 you can blame everyone for underperforming?? But when your main striker who is only 21 and barely ever fit, has only scored 11 goals its not hard to see why you dont win football matches?? Amorim signed gyokeres who by the way?? Has scored 16 in 10 already this season. The problem is not underperforming players!!! The problem is underperforming recruitment department.
Recruitment is a big factor. Not having a leader of the line is another big issue. All the forwards are trying to prove themselves and get ‘theirs’ instead of playing together. They know UTD is only good for one goal per game and want to score. Forget winning.
Hojlund never gets any service, that is the problem, because all our wingers are selfish. When he has had chances he's done well, he just rarely gets them.
United can't keep gambling on coaches with no proven records of success. They should only hire coaches that have done it before elsewhere. Almost all highly successful coaches in history have been successful at smaller clubs before moving up.

I’m tired of people saying rashford is a world class player. The sooner man united fans realise this, the better it’ll be for the club. The standard has to be better than whatever he’s doing. Amorim is a tough coach: the players ligning up for the next game are the ones who perform the best during the week's training. If you don't "eat the grass" as we say in Portugal, you are out! Few years ago, under Amorim, he pushed out Slimani, arguably our best striker at the time, simple because he didn't push himself enough during training. This was controversial but in the end, Amorim was right: the team became super meritocratic and everyone pushes themselves to their absolute limit. On top of that, out with Slimani, and later on we got Gyokeres.
You are putting Amorim on a pedestal. Be careful because that pedestal could fall very quickly. Let's talk about what no one wants to discuss: Amorim's weaknesses, which cost us two championships. First, let me clarify that Amorim has been at Sporting for five years and won two championships. The first was during the COVID season when Benfica and Porto suffered greatly from the pandemic, facing long absences of key players! The second championship he won was largely due to the signing of two top players, Gyökeres and Hjulmand. Interestingly, both were initially rejected by Amorim, but the management went ahead and signed them anyway, as he himself admitted. We can start our discussion here: Amorim is terrible at recruiting! Dozens of players came to Sporting only to turn out to be major failures, some even leaving in the same season they arrived! Amorim is very stubborn. This stubbornness cost us two championships! He insisted one striker was enough, and kept flops like Esgaio in the team! Amorim only knows one playing system. He only knows how to play with three central defenders and with the goalkeeper playing out from the back. Sporting struggles immensely against teams that press high. He’s incapable of preparing an alternative system and can only play this way. Amorim is very poor at reading the game. United fans will quickly realize this! He makes substitutions without any logic, completely out of context, often disrupting the team's rhythm! Don’t believe everything he says! He lies a lot! He’s not a man of his word! He said United was the club he wanted, but last year he got on a plane to England to sign for West Ham while the Portuguese championship was ongoing! This year, he abandoned the project, the club, and the players after just 10 matches. He will do the same with you!
Interesting, didn’t know this. I know a lot of sporting’s recent success was because of Gyokeres goals but I was unaware that it was more of a club signing than a Amorim signing but to be fair sporting wouldn’t have paid Braga what they did if he wasn’t a decent manager
@@Rando109 I can't say. When Sporting hired him, they made a blind bet, he had no experience nor did he yet have the title of coach. He made a lot of mistakes, but he also evolved. The biggest mistake you can make is thinking that if you were successful in one place, you will be successful in another! Sporting tolerated all the mistakes he made, he was patient. I don't know to what extent united works like this. I just expose the weaknesses he has and that after 5 years he still has them! Sporting is a team with many gaps, very little versatile, which Goykeres' goals hide! What I want to tell you is not to expect miracles. Don't even go along with the media hype!
Couldn't tell you the last time I was this excited for a game, Regardless of how things go today change is coming and it's exciting, Love the fact Ruud is getting a few games in charge for him personally, this experience will be great for him and who knows he could be back in years to come ,but definitely think Amorim is the right choice and absolutely loved this press conference after the sporting game the other night, love his honesty, his desire to Utd boss and desire to bring back the glory days, I am Buzzing for him to get here , Just hope we keep bouncing for the nxt few games and give him atleast a chance to get us in the top 4 this season but if we don't so be it, I believe he is gonna make us a dominant force again, So today is a massive day for Ruud and the players and I think if we can just be a little tighter at the back today we can win this, massive couple of weeks for rashford aswell, I reckon he'll score 2 today and we win 2-1 , ever the optimist. COME ON UNITED GLORY GLORY MAN UTD ❤️ 🤍 🖤
I'm a united fan but when people mentions Klopp took 4-5 years to win a major trophy, they need to mention the context and whole picture as well. He had to rebuild a team and club which has been a failure for decades. And most importantly, we could see instant impact and identity from klopp. Liverpool had the same dominating, high energy style throughout klopp era. They were making major strides in the league and europe and everyone knew liverpool were going to win big and go places eventually with klopp. So, the point is, even though managers need time and patience, there needs to be a clear impact and style of play and conviction of progression in that time, like klopp brought from day 1. Not the kind of vague fugazi 'progress' we were apparently making under ole. It needs to be un-debatable, for everyone, that united is going places with the manager, regardless of current results.
Failure for decades? The last i check, european, uefa, domestic cups were won under Houiller, Rafa and even short stint King Kenny....I don't rmbr Liverpool languishing so badly in the league for such a long time even under Woy Hodgson or losing 4,5,7 nil against their biggest rivals. Don't compare the present Utd with Liverpool of the past. The Utd today is worse and the entire state of the club is in shambles. It will be a miracle if they can finish 8th and equal last season standings.
Jamie Redknapp ain't so bright. Man Utd had to give Erik Ten Hag THE ONE YEAR CONTRACT EXTENTION, that was already part of the deal he has signed 3 years ago. He wasnt given a new contract like this guy is saying. Erik deserved it, 2 trophies in two years, made one more FA Finale, had struggled with injuries last season, he had every right to be given one more chance. If you expect Amorim is going to bring two trophies in two seasons then you are wrong. Game against Chelsea has shown that the players need to take the blame and not the manager, because that bunch is uncoachable.
Just FYI that when INEOS bought nice football club they went through like 7 managers in 5 years. Highest finish in the league was 9th place. Not a good sign
We have an interim manager and the previous manager failed and they are sat there expecting something different….INSANE. Disrespectful to Chelsea also.
Too many players throw their arms up at each other. Like they just want to shift the blame to another player if a passage of play doesn’t work. People have already mentioned their names in the comments and I think those same players hold too much power and are toxic with it
With Amorim all the egos from the players are going into the bag....anyone who doesnt run and apply it seriously in training will see the game through TV. Amorim is perfect for this environment and he plays 343 with changes to 442.
People doubted Slot, since Liverpool hired him based on his performances from the Dutch league and his European performances, yet United get a coach from the Portuguese league that is actually ranked lower than the Dutch league, heck a club like Feyenoord beat Benfica recently in their own stadium in Portugal with 1-3
lol as long as these ex players have jobs united goes no where bro isn’t even in the country yet and he Gota ignore you clowns not even a united fan but wow
Asking these two for managerial advice is like asking homeless people for financial advice. First order of business for Amorim is banning any ex players from access to any aspect of the club.
People underestimate the size of the Utd job. No other job in England compares. Only 2 men in history have won league titles with Utd. Granted they were both iconic figures in the history of football and were remarkably difficult to emulate, but this club needs men of incredible character
Gary said when Ten Hag come in he needs to get rid of the deadwood quickly and start building. He has now said it again for the new manager. Will not happen as the deadwood refuse to leave because they are on high salaries.
The deterioration was underway when Ole arrived, but he allowed so much bad behaviour to develop, like players happily paying the turning up to training late fine. Rashfords constant parking tickets wherever he goes he just parks up and pays the fine wherever he likes. The arrogance of some of them is crazy...
Really disappointed with Ruud today he had a free hit to show his identity, a bit more energy but basically no shape or cutting edge, expected a bit more ambition
I think Neville is right in saying United shouldn't buy anyone in January. Give it the next 9 months to implement a coherent style of play, then next summer the manager will know exactly where they are short, then work to locate the best possible players in these positions. Its the most sensible approach
Hogwash! Agree that he will be able to better judge the players within the team. But he should move some, if he can, that he deems surplus or below par, and get others that better suits his tactics, if possible. Or he will be left with a bigger gap or job in the new season.
Gary and Roy need to wake up. "Every new player the last 10 years has deteriorated in the club, except Bruno...". Well, Bruno is _OBVIOUSLY_ the problem. He picks on other players to build himself up.

Amorim won 2 league titles in a league dominated by strong Porto and Benfica teams the last 20 years, more impressive then what Ten Hag did with Ajax
And came into a VERY toxic enviroment and started winning instantly
True but bear in mind United fans have said this about every manager they've had in the past 11 years, and all have been quite poor. Mourinho only one who was somewhat good imo. The Premier League is a lot different to the Portuguese League. Wait until he starts at United then we will see (was great at Sporting tho). Can't believe people are saying he's gonna be great at Man Utd before he has even started
nope, Sporting is one of Portugal big 3, winning with Sporting is good but not extraordinary, if he won with Vitoria or Boavista than it's special

On top of that, out with Slimani, and later on we got Gyokeres.
insightful
We can start our discussion here:
Amorim is terrible at recruiting!
Interesting stuff 👍
He sounds like Ten Hag version 2.0 lol
So do u think he is a good appointment?
Couldn't tell you the last time I was this excited for a game,
Regardless of how things go today change is coming and it's exciting,
Love the fact Ruud is getting a few games in charge for him personally, this experience will be great for him and who knows he could be back in years to come ,but definitely think Amorim is the right choice and absolutely loved this press conference after the sporting game the other night, love his honesty, his desire to Utd boss and desire to bring back the glory days, I am Buzzing for him to get here ,
Just hope we keep bouncing for the nxt few games and give him atleast a chance to get us in the top 4 this season but if we don't so be it, I believe he is gonna make us a dominant force again,
So today is a massive day for Ruud and the players and I think if we can just be a little tighter at the back today we can win this, massive couple of weeks for rashford aswell, I reckon he'll score 2 today and we win 2-1 , ever the optimist.
COME ON UNITED
GLORY GLORY MAN UTD ❤️ 🤍 🖤
Well said
Failure for decades?
Grey colours the mode of the day, fellas & Kelly? Drab!
Just FYI that when INEOS bought nice football club they went through like 7 managers in 5 years. Highest finish in the league was 9th place. Not a good sign
Gary knows nothing. Souness and Jamie predicted this after the 7-0 and Gary dismissed Seven Hag as a ‘blip’
The numbers don't lie
And when issues persist in math and science, the "common denominator" is usually the thing that needs "review".

Amorim has no pressure on him! How much worse can they get?
Best analysis on the situation by Roy 👍
United need to get rid of the following: Rashford, Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, Casemiro, Eriksen. Give Amorim some fresh legs
I think a better quote is. "Nobody cares what Manchester United are now"
Is it November 11th already
I genuinely feel Ineos listened to the "top reds" instead of going with their gut and cutting the cord in the summer. It sets the club back a year.
He picks on other players to build himself up.
well for what it's worth, ruben amorim has a tuff 1st 6 months, roy is spot on small changes if any, no major decisions to early, he could be what our team needs, if his personality fits with the team, and he is strong enough to make solid sense to them, they will listen, i think he can do this, that said i am somewhat surprised why the board did not stay with van nistlerooy at least for 6 months, but well it's all done now, we shall see, gary always makes a good argument,
Roy’s honesty, Frank’s analysis and Jamie’s personality is brilliant, well balanced and a joy to listen too. Gary is alright
