In the mid to late 80's, Sleepaway Camp was a slumber party staple, I saw it at least a dozen times. The best thing was that there was always one or two girls who hadn't seen it before, and their stunned silence and dropped jaws at the end was always priceless!
Nothing beats the OG movie. I liked the actress for Angela more in part 2 and 3, but yeah, that ending definitely caught me off guard when I watched it in the early 2000s. What a great time.
The ending freaked me out so bad, that till this day I can't look for more than several seconds. No kidding. The open mouth, wolf like stance, and growling added to the shock.
One thing that I've always wondered about Sleepaway Camp is the question of whether Ricky had known all along about Angela/Peter or if he was just as shocked as everyone else (and us!) It's not really clear.
I dont think anything about Sleepaway Camp is controversial, it was a solid horror movie apart from the kills that Angela couldnt possibly have the strength to do. What should be viewed with shock and awe is how we are currently being told we need to support the delusions of people who have a mental illness.
Did the person who put this compilation together also not make the title? It is "Must Watch Horror Flicks" yet when we get to I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, the narrator is here to say how bad it is and not in a good way kind of bad.
RE: Sleepaway camp, isn't the message of the ending "forcing someone to present as a gender the aren't is harmful" which would make it pretty pro-trans rights? Like, if the kid hadn't been forced to live as the wrong gender, he wouldn't have hurt anyone, right?
as a trans woman i avoid watching this film at all costs bc of the ending being so transmisogynistic ... i want to watch it just as a horror fan but the ending will cause me to spiral into a gender dysphoric meltdown lolololololol idk maybe the ending was uhh lets say decisions were made but it could have been much more impactful if not the same as today if the conclusion wasnt so transphobic . Even if that was not the intent it still left a profound impression on movie go-ers and audiences to be transphobic especially in the 80s
What on earth is "transmisogynistic"? Also, it's very standard slasher movie, the ending comes out of nowhere, it was for pure shock, because F13th had one with Jason, and it made fortune at Box office, so they gotta had shock ending as well in hopes of selling tickets. "Even if that was not the intent it still left a profound impression on movie go-ers and audiences to be transphobic especially in the 80s" she was not trans, she was forced to live as girl because her aunt was insane and wanted a girl. They completely abandoned the idea or follow up on it in sequel, it was kinda just dropped and never mentioned again, because like I said, it was never integral part of the first movie, it was just pure shock scene.
Fun Fact: In The movie SLEEPAWAY Camp, James Earl Jones's Father plays The Black cook in this movie Mr. Robert Earl Jones.

Saw this when I was younger..The ending was crazy lol why was she naked? Why the dramatic pause and pose? The 80s gotta love it 😂😂😂!!
Sleepaway Camp is in-sane! The editing of that revelation, the music, the sounds of animals... Everything is so disturbing 😖

Sleepaway camp 2 is the best
Definitely the best one!
The second one is my favorite
Usually, I'm not too fond of remakes but the Hills Have Eyes Remake was excellent i especially liked Doug's character arc.
One of my favorite
I Have Sleepaway Camp On DVD And It's Still The Best.
Jennifer Love Hewitt looking hot as hell in a bikini and me watching it as a 13 year old....10/10

For I Still Know, should've done more with the story & must show the villain a lot.

Exactly, lol.
Ok groomer
Nah, you are reading too much into it. They just had shock ending because Friday the 13th had one and it made ton of money.
thanks for the spoiler warning
Why make fun about inheritance when the guy made a movie while others just throw it away
The movie is so damn offensive and problematic lol Angela is a guy/intersex and their parents are two dads lol
😝👍
The ending is fucked
The movies suck

The message seems to be, 'it's bad to force someone into being a gender they are not and do not desire to be' That's not transphobic.
