Happy Monday all! I love how neatly presented your collection is, Karianne. Thank you for your porch coffees Claire, they really do help me centre and feel like there is a community out there that I fit with ☺I too have OCD and autism and whilst this year has been transformative with making progress in understanding and living with autism, I wish I was less overwhelmed by most things so that I could enjoy them more. I am thankful for special interests! Have a great week
This Porch Coffee series is wonderful - thank you! It's currently 26 degrees F here in Vermont so my coffee would get cold way too fast if I was out on my porch. I'm recovering from a really nasty flu/cold/bronchitis thing as well as an ear infection. It has gone on for 10 days and I'm sick of coughing. But I think today is going to be a good day 🌟
Morning Claire, I look forward to seeing your bigger witches hat... I remember making one with much mum for school when I was about 8 so I could dress up as a witch for some party in had been invited to. Then made a similar hat dress many years later for the girls for a Halloween party we had for the kids and their cousins at our house.... We have only had the one Halloween party because it's not really something we celebrate here but there are kids that go round knocking on doors for sweets so we stay in and watch a film and play a game or 2 instead.😊 Kitten will be 4 months old tomorrow and don't look like kittens anymore. 😊
So grounding and cozy to hear the birds in the background! Sweden is getting cold, most birds have migrated for the winter. Even your example of "unedited porch coffee" was very relaxing haha! Thank you for motivating me to reflect, look ahead and enjoy the outdoors.
Karianne! What a neat collection! Thank you for sharing! 👏 I'm hanging in there. My son wound up being sick all last week. It was a really long week and I'm hoping this week is a little more routine. I loved your flying monkey costime! I have a follow-up with my doctor on Halloween. I hope he gives me the ok to stop wearing the walking boot. I really want to take my daughter trick or treating. Happy Halloween, Claire and friends! 💞
Good morning Claire, this week has been a weird one, last monday my big dog hurted the new puppy prety bad, ruched to the vet, lots of stress and a bit traumatic to be fair. I have contact with local animal rescue communauty so now the puppy is safe with another family, I've seen him later this week, he's healing good. On a positive note, my new roommate mooved in, she's also autistic, it's nice an validating to be able to speak about our struggles and feel understood. We have a big age differance, she could be my daughter, but I feel that we can and will better ourself together. I dont celebrate halloween but we got candy to share anyway. Cheers from Canada
I don't fuss about holidays but I understand many people like them. I actually don't own any holiday decorations or costumes. My life is better manageable if I keep things simple, and I save money that way, too.
Yaaaa black cats!! 🐈⬛ I've only owned black kittahs 😻For Halloween costume, i'm torn between being Funshine (Care Bear ☀) or Donnie Darko.... My 2 favorite things.... i have both costumes so i shall see what happens. Have a fantastic week!!
Thank you for sharing your collection of thimbles, Karianne! I don’t celebrate Halloween lately, because I live on many acres in the middle of the forest, I don’t have visitors, and I rarely leave my house. I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve heard any knock on my door in the last four years. If I hear a knock on my door on Halloween night, it’s more likely to be the Big Bad Wolf than a trick or treater. Last night I listened to a group coyotes loudly yipping and yowling around my house. Nights are already pretty scary around here. 🐺
Hi claire, I enjoyed the autism show and tell and all you put on youtube last week. Thank you. I had a busy week last week. children are off school this week so no books to sort out at the school library. Half term in the UK. Nice to see you and your cat. Feels like autumn. Happy halloween and have a great week
Thanks for a not-so-spooky, but very relaxing porch coffee!! Thanks to Karianne for showing the awesome thimble collection!!! NASA thimble, wow!!! I'm still buried in work. But I got to check out that positive video which was really useful. Also, I admire the amazing Flying Monkey costume, and the time and creativity that goes into that. Wishing everyone an awesome Halloween!!!! 🕸🎃✨
Good morning. What a wonderful thimble collection, Karianne! Love how they are displayed. Claire, I just want to say again how much I love the monkey costume for your dog. So impressed. You have been a busy gal! Would love to see witch outfit. Sure it will be great. Looking forward to content to come but remember to pace yourself. Glad to see your very productive week though. As to mine...well, I am not sure if you had a chance to see my comment last week but to recap, my daughter had to withdraw from college and come home. She likes learning but she just could not keep up executive functioning wise. It is hard because the what's next? hangs over us. Will definitely have to be nontraditional and not a wealth of help around here for that. But, that said, I am happy to hear her beautiful voice again and especially today as it is her birthday and I get to spoil her with chocolate. On that note, Happy Halloween to you! Hope it is fun. ❤
I am going to work on the witch costume today. Sorry to hear about the difficult times you and your daughter are going through, I hope she figures out what the best way forward is for her.
I look forward to the Halloween candy. And I love watching travel channel. And the history channel. They show different Halloween programs. And I watch the Winchester mystery house RUclips channel. As an Autistic person. I love Halloween.
Halloween is a favorite time to dress up for the fun of it. I actually went to my church Halloween activity this year despite the loud noise. I went trunk or treating and stuffed my two pockets full. I crocheted a small, mottled black cat this week and started a shawl that I had to frog 13 rounds on. But last night, I just got all that back in.
Thank you for sharing your thimble collection! (and what a cute name unlike the Swedish one, "fingerborg"(finger castle)) I love that you also have other trinkets, like the very on-theme miniature sewing machine hehe so cute. Also I might definitely get a type set drawer to display my own trinkets and things 😻
Happy Halloween! As a witchy minded person, I always have found this time to be introspective and not very social, so I don’t normally dress up (though I love costumes) and as social gatherings are stressful. I really like enjoying the rain and dark clouds as well as wildlife. Good time to do a retrospective like your talking about with your videos. Thanks Claire! 🎃 (…and you too Ernie! 🐈⬛)
Good Morning Claire! Thank you for being a bright spot in a busy week! I saw the staying positive video yesterday, but didn't have time to watch, so it's up next - I think it will be helpful today. Also wanted to say that your "open head space" comment really resonated with me - I feel like my autism diagnosis opened up a bit of head space for me to be able to do other things. 🙂
Missing the thimble lady say goodbye dysregulated me. And I looked for the link to her RUclips channel that you mentioned. I haven't found it yet. So? I do DBT. I'm almost 73 and a half. So I'm using my reaction to the video for practicing a skill. It helps a lot. How? I feel less lonely having the video connection and it helps with understanding my own capacity for communicating with others. Thank you so much for sharing your work. I am learning to face the reality of today with acceptance, accountability, and gratitude. Noticing dysregulation before it grows larger than me has me understanding my capacity better than ever before, thanks to practicing DBT. Looking forward to seeing your hat. May we all fare well. Blessed Autumn to you. P.S. i liked hearing your saying about making videos for yourself for your own reasons. That's why I comment. To help me see my own process of interaction with others at what seems a safe distance. 🎉🎃 🎉🎃

It's one of my favorite things on the YT streets. :) I'm not much of a Halloween person, but I do decorate my home with pumpkins and fall things. Have a great week! Awww, love your kitty!
