That was fun to watch, thanks for sharing your costume projects with us! I can totally relate to taking on projects and then feeling completely exasperated, to use your appropriate word lol!! 😅😬 Sewing a costume from scratch would be super fun, but I usually find pre-made pieces and then sew/craft bits to go with it. My fav was one year we did an Alice in Wonderland theme; I went as the Red Queen, my hubby went as the Mad Hatter and our big fluffy dog (a Great Pyrenees) was the White Rabbit. My sister is an artist, so she did our face paint (not the dog though haha). It was so much fun and we got some awesome memories and pictures! 😀
Hi Leslie - I like the idea of taking a premade costume to adding to it to make it more detailed! I love the idea of a family Alice and Wonderland costume including the pets!
@@WoodshedTheory Just to clarify what I meant to say, lol, sometimes it's a premade costume, but mostly it's a fun treasure hunt for bits and bobs to create a whole new costume! 🙂
You're so talented, and I admire that you pushed through and finished the rainbow dress, and in the future if you feel like making another one I would love to see it.❤
Yay! I love the Halloween content. You have a lot of patience to sew garments. I tried sewing some dresses for my daughter from a pattern and it was so annoying haha. I used to sew face masks during covid and I made a few quilts and some mini quilts. Mini quilts are my fav! I made one that says "BOO" for halloween with halloween print fabric. You are making me want to sew again! I have my Boo mini quilt on display for halloween. Now I want to make one for each season...
Thanks Marisa. If you google crochet witch hat you can probably find one of the hats for sale - they are NOT crochet they are a knit but I noticed it always says crochet in the description on them.
Oh, my. My objective and subjective reactions to this video are intriguing to me. I'm working on compiling a comprehensive coherent narrative for sharing with my therapist and eventually with my family for the purpose of providing an objective constant for consideration. About me. And my behavior. Past and present. I became interested in your channel because of the late diagnosis autism focus. 🎉 A thread of my story, pun intended, relates to sewing. So. My appreciation for this video is sincere and multifaceted. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your developed and developing talents. 🎉
My only experience with sewing was sewing cargo bags for bikepacking. The larger one served its purpose, but was kind of a pain with how floppy it was. I eventually tossed it, but knew from my experience how I would make it different. I wish I had more of the cool, green plaid. I imagine it is the same with the frustrating experience... _after_ you've processed the frustration. Hard-earned skill. All of your costumes looked good. I agree with you, the spider web costume is very cool!
Thanks for sharing about your cargo bags. Sewing I have found is one of those things that is easy to get the basics of but then hard to get to a level where it stops looking homemade - I know I'm still learning but I think it is cool to feel like each time it gets better.
Another autistic person who loves to sew! I just subscribed because I was a fellow collaborator on Autistic Jenny's October video! My last video on my channel is me hand sewing. I totally feel this video, and the spider web dress was mindblowingly good! I've have also cried during dressmaking! It's can be a challenging craft, but brava to all of these costumes!
Traumatic. Sewing. Experience. 🤣🤣🤣 I felt that in my bones. The second you held up that material, I knew. Difficulty level : Apocalypse. God, it's gorgeous though! - The fabric choices on your stays! So so so pretty. And I'd wear that spider web dress all year long. 😍 - The worst mistake I ever made while sewing was pattern drafting a cloak and thinking it was a triangle. I made a cape. It was a fantastic cape, but it took so much material and it was utterly useless. lol
I love that prairie dress so much. It reminds me of a dress that I made in High School. Prairie dresses were really popular in the mid-1970s. It had inlaid lace on the yoke of the dress as well. I made it of a blue calico printed muslin.
Your costumes are awesome! Great job! I love the spiderweb dress😍 I attempted a peacock feather tail costume (like on the Goldfrapp album cover) and a Game of Thrones khaleesi costume, both by hand bc I’m intimidated by my sewing machine.
Loved your spiderweb dress!!
Hello and Good morning.

this is gonna be fun. your witch hat looks great:)
dang Claire, all of those are awesome! well done❤

Maybe one day I will develop the courage to try again :) I will film it if it happens!

@WoodshedTheory You're welcome. Cool. Good to know!
Hi Claire, thanks for letting us know about your costumes. They are brilliant! I have shared this video with a family member who is studying fashion.

I love all your creations! I like how you can appreciate the lessons you've learned from each project. Hope you have a Happy Halloween! 🧡
Thanks I enjoy sharing what I have learned. Not only is it good to share with others but it also helps me to reflect.
So happy to see all your costumes! Hopefully when we move I can get my sewing machine serviced & start making things too 💚

I love these!! I dress up alot for photoshoots so I don't dress up.on Halloween but sometime soon I'll be doing a female beetlejuice photoshoot.
Yes I love to dress up as well! I bet beetlejuice was awesome
As a Christian I have an intense dislike for Halloween and everything associated with it. The whole season is far darker than most people realise
