They aren't really "the PSP version". Actually the PSP, DS and PC versions use the exact same soundtrack, the DS just plays it a bit differently because of it having a less strong sound card. Either this, or I'm an idiot and they just used the PSP soundtrack in the PC version, while remade it for the DS, I don't really know anymore
@@skye.xv88 It's not because the DS has a less strong "sound card" (smh), but because the remake's OST uses samples instead of streaming music off the cartridge. Complete Collection has CD-quality music thanks to much more space being available

That whole sequence was masterfully done. Too bad Golbez isn't really challenging in most versions of the game. the DS version did him right. In the Pixel Remaster version I nuked him in two summons from Rydia
Thank you _so much_ for this upload. Its infuriating searching all over and finding videos that _claim_ to be the DS version but its all just the remastered or the original SNES.
This theme still echoes in my head sometimes... never forgetting the trauma that the first encounter with Golbez on FFIV DS was as a kid who didn't knew anything about rpgs before
I first picked up this version of the game at age 11 when I was a budding gamer. This game handed my ass to me on a silver platter. I came back to the game at 22 years old just last month. When I finally got to experience this theme for the first time at 22, I actually legit got scared hearing the first time. They did an amazing job making me fucking scared of what was about to come. Unreal.
Bro fr, the first archfiend is terrifying and it took me like 30 whole minutes to kill (in one battle, it just wouldn’t die) because it kept killing my healers lol
@@narushiki135 Fun fact, there is a hidden trick with the fight. When you see Rubicante opening his cloak to unleash Inferno, you can have Edge use Steal on him. Sure, it won't do anything, but it guarantees to force Rubicante to wrap himself back to his defensive stance. This completely trivializes the fight, but it's interesting that you could do this in the first place.

Kanes rage is a pretty big moment, really gets you hyped to fight. Not to mention he was by far the least dickish and treated his opponents respectfully 😂
Sooo much better than the PSP version. Sounds like an enhanced version of the SNES track, incredible bass and percussion!! Definitely maintains the intensity of the SNES rendition -- the PSP take did not carry over the power of the brass section, so it sounded super feeble in comparison!
Where is the DS Soundfont version of the boss theme? I remember listening to it on here ages ago and now its gone, its better than the non DS version :(
