Reminder that Rubicante is the nicest of the four fiends and most respectful towards the heroes.
Compared to the others, he was chivalrous and honorable. It was just unfortunate that he was on the wrong side.

Nobuo Uematsu is a fucking genius. He literally revolutionized video game soundtracks😁💪
And if I may say, no one has outdone him. Or should I say him and Sakaguchi, because it was Sakaguchi's direction that made these songs have the purity of spirit and vision that they do.
The original "major boss" battle theme, and still one of the best ones EVER, even in its original form

If I'm being honest I tend to prefer the original chiptune versions of the OSTs. First thing I did with the Pixel Remakes on Switch was turn the music back to the original versions.
@@ShinGallon much of an "originalist" too, especially since the 16-bit era - some 8-bit remix like the Origins overworld theme (FF1) are quite epic
@@ShinGallonSame, not even just with chiptune, I usually don't like remixes or hugher quality versions of songs.
If it's not the original, it's not the Uematsu-Sakaguchi team's vision anymore. The existence of any FF4 remakes is an abomination in my sight.
Hyadains version is etched into my soul forever
I love that they got Hyadain to make an official arrangement of it in FFXIV.

学生の頃リアルタイムで流行っていて、カイナッツォ、ルビカンテ、バルバリシア、スカルミリョーネという名前がカッコよくて友達と名前を言いたいだけの人になってたなあと思い出しました。
改めて聴くと曲もむっちゃくちゃかっこいいですね。
It’s really an iconic theme & the fiend boss are fun to fight against too.
since FF4 was my first rpg they were pretty hard, it took me 5 tries for each fiend
Milon puts up a bit of a fight but Cagnazzo (or whichever localization your playing) is a pushover (especially if you grind for a bit). Baigan puts up more of a fight. also i love the Baigan fight.

I always pictured them screaming "NOOOOOOO!!!!" as they crumbled away and died.
My very first battle with one of the fiends scared the f out of me as a kid 😭 it felt like a literal jump scare when he back attacked on the bridge then the music kicked in sounding like demon/hell monsters. Such a great track!

FFXIV's renditions of this legendary track, yes that is a plural, definitely gives it the respect it's due.
The second rendition, Forged in Crimson, was actually composed by Hyadain himself.
If there was ever a song that evokes dread, it's this one. This track, combined with the grotesque final form of Milon/Scarmiglione scared the hell out of me as a kid. As an adult, I know I can defeat the four fiends as I have done so many times, but when this theme hits, I still feel just a little bit of anxiety.
It's a great theme.
The sole reason I bought the soundtrack. And every version of this track since.i love it. I actually visualize the battle by listening to it.

Somehow... I can hear Hyadain's lyrics
今までのボスと段違いの威圧感すらあるbgm。
This was the game that truly got me into epic RPGs (which in turn sparked the desire in me to make one of my own, even if it'll never be done), and this in particular was the boss theme that always stood out. Defeating Scarmiglione for the first time felt so good!

To be honest I feel pity to fight the fiends at the after years because like Golbez before they were mind controlled. If you bring Golbez they are happy to see him again and even if Golbez wasn't mind controlled their loyalty never fades they even encouraged his whole party to stop the mastermind of everything

although BOF Boss music sucks on SNES/GBA they do have sprite animations on the enemies and such
two different rpg series from japan
feels like they're competing
yet the RPG square enix made with animations is pretty much super mario RPG
How do you disable SFX?
Can you disable the BGM, too? If so, what emulator do you use and how?
Just want to be able to record the SFX without the music...
This is likely just an upload of gameplay with the original sound muted, the music was probably ripped somewhere else and superimposed onto the footage
This comment is 2 months old but no one answered it. If you haven't figured it out, snes emulators usually have a way to turn off/on individual sound channels. I know ZSNES has it and I wouldn't be surprised if others had it too.
Valvalis wearing a yellow swim suit -yellow bikini.....how was this allowed in a video game for kids!!!! That's a lady with blond hair in a swim suit---nothing bad about that but I wonder if it's good for children to see that!!!
