This is a really useful video Alex so thank you! I am going to install this reef mat on my 100g display tank and this was a great guide. Also love to see Fred Titmuss approving of your work 0:43
Great video and great product. How come you didn't use the classic stapler-method to change the roll? This method is very simple and doesn't require to unmount the inner parts...
Do you know how it is connecting the hose directly to the 32mm pipe of my waterbox? I’ll have to tighten it but I’ll use silicon all around as well.. thank you
Hi, I’m hoping I can pick your brains for a minute. I have a waterbox 60.2 coming next week which I assume will have a very similar sump. I’m new to sumps! I want to get rid of the sock and install a reef mat, the only thing I wasn’t to sure of from the video is where the corrugated hose went….is it connected directly to the main down pipe? Thanks so much for your help in advance , Lee
I have a Blau aquaristic roller mat, but don’t know how deep it needs to sit into the sump. At what height should the water level be to trigger the rolling of the fleece? Can you perhaps make a video showing the internal working of the roller and how the water goes through it and when/how it triggers it automatically?
Thanks for doing this video! I really want one of these on my 250l (Aquarium Systems L'aquarium) but worried of wrecking my sump. 2 questions.. What is the silicone stuff you use and do you have to let it dry for ages? And is it difficult to set the downpipe flow/ or height of the red sea reef mat?
Good day mate! I just purchased this unit and am modifying my sump to be able to fit this in the first chamber. How many inches of clearance can you approximate that you need for the hose?

😅🐈⬛
Great to see your cat helps you out with the reefing jobs as well 😂👍.
😅
I removed my filter sock compartment in my waterbox sump with the redsea removal kit, it made life a lot easier especially with the ultra thin blade.
Really on the edge of getting of these soon! To fit on my Red Sea 250
PRO TIP, dental floss rope is awsome when breaking seals in the sump. broke down my sump in less than 30 min with that

This is much easier and it's designed to avoid having to use staples. I hated doing that on my other roller mats!
Bloody good video, best I have seen on this bit of kit

Hi, I am buying one of these tommorow and I wondered if you can hear the trickling water as it's in my sons bedroom. Thanks in advance and great video
Nope

Yep, connected straight to the main downpipe

It probably varies with different rollers, but generally speaking err on the side of a bit too high, rather than a bit too low

It's just aquarium safe silicon - I think it's supposed to dry for 24 hours but I usually just get it wet straight away and it's always been fine

2-3 inches max
Great video. I just got one for my Red Sea 350 and well worth it. No more cleaning socks every 3 days plus my water has never looked so clear.
Does anyone know if this would fit in an AquaOne 120 (its the same tank that he has well its one of them)
I've had 2 of those - don't think it'd fit in the first chamber, maybe in the second. But I'd personally go for a Clarisea for that tank...
Is that a ganja plant behind u 😂
Busted 😶🌫️
