Great video. I've been looking for an install video for a red sea roller mat into a cade for weeks. Thanks guys I now have the confidence to install mine on the weekend.
I wanted to get one of them for my freshwater aquarium but the water level sensor only works with saltwater so I went with the Clarisea filter roller instead and it works like a dream. It has never skipped a beat and I love it.
Hi cam, I just installed the reefmat 1200 on my Cade 2100 tank the adapter you got in the boxes didn’t ship with my reefmat at all. Took forever to get the right connection of plastic adapters to get this job done.
Thanks Cam. What are thoughts on removing all baffles in a CADE sump and installing a ReefMat, skimmer and have more space for a refugium? Float valve will control the water level and the ReefMat will control the drain flow.
You could definitely do it that way. We chose to keep the baffles in place so we didn’t do anything too permanent, but it would probably make for a better sump if the baffles were removed and a Reefmat used. Cam
I would use those filter socks and fill them up with bio media. Easy to take out when It's time to clean and place back. If you can get a small pump to fill up the chamber that is
Did the reefmat end up sitting too high? I have the rm1200 on my cade sump aswell i couldnt hang it as you had it due to the water sensor being too high
Too much filtration on an aquarium and not enough bioload will lead to dinos and of cyano and other issues. If your aim is to keep corals stability is key but nutrients are an absolute must, the hobby has moved on so much that now with all this tech installed us reefers are having to add nitrate and phos to keep even acropora :) i would only install a roller mat if your having issues with to higher nutrients, good vid cam !!!
It’s definitely important to keep a balanced nutrient load and my suggestion is always to test your parameters to ensure your nutrients don’t get too low. Thanks for watching! Cam
Exactly how I put in my reefmat 1200 on the Cade 1200, I just used pvc cement on the connection on to the Cade Plumbing. Think Im going to tee in the overflow as a bit of debris is getting into the sump via the overflow.
Does anyone know where to get the adapter he is using at 2.45. I need the adapater for the main drain yet I cant find it and did not come with the Reefmat 250. Cheers for the help!
I have used metal clips to secure the main down pipe into the sump before with no success due to rust because I forgot to change it out, water samples sent away to Triton showed this to be so. It has take at least six months for the system to be clean through water changes. Q. Where do you get the pvc glue from you use? Brand name & store? Or can you use any pvc glue for plumbing tanks? Thanks 😊
Personally I would not use the metal clamps, u want to remove any possibility of metal leak if you’re serious about keeping corals. It would probably be the first thing u would change when u detect high metals in ICP, so why bother 🤷♂️
I’ve always watched your videos but I won’t anymore due to your disrespect to your employees you call yourself Cam the fish guy and in one Cam the fish king but calling your staff shed boy is disrespectful
Great addition to that cade. Sits so neatly there without having to cut anything out of the sump.
It’s the first time I can say a filter roller was easy to install into a tank that wasn’t designed for it. Cam
Cade is doing great in India too. Loving my S21500 and my fellow reefers are loving their Cades out here
Nice clean install Cam. For glass tanks, I really like the Cade.
They’re great tanks, we will be installing the first white ones next month. Cam

Thanks, this is exactly why we made this video😊 Cam
It's worth noting that the ReefMat has two inlets so that you can plumb both the primary and the secondary drains if you wanted to.
Thanks Cam, you and the gang always do such a great job✌️✌️👍
Best reefing videos out there. So much knowledge on this channel. And the music please more music
Thanks Austin, that’s a wonderful comment to read😊 Cam

Get reef factory or pearl they have floaters. Floater type will work.
Nice neat tidy set up...I like using the heavy duty plastic hose clamps...for anything near 💦 💦 💦
Hi cam,

Oh man what a hassle. That was why I was so impressed, the fact it came with the adapter that was a perfect match for the tank. Cam
I like to use Delrin or Nylon "Herbie Clip" style hose clamps.

@@GalleryAquaticaTV Thanks, seriously considering it now, only way to fit in a roller mat, refugium and skimmer!

A small amount of water still goes through these socks (via the secondary drain pipe) so using them for bio media is definitely an option. Cam
What is the size (part number) of the adapter to plump the overflow piping to the ReefMat. From where can I buy this adapter?
Did the reefmat end up sitting too high? I have the rm1200 on my cade sump aswell i couldnt hang it as you had it due to the water sensor being too high
Great video! Will this install fit in a CADE S2 600 sump?

I was surprised how easy it was. Cam
were you able to fit a skimmer beside it?
Does anyone know where to get the adapter he is using at 2.45. I need the adapater for the main drain yet I cant find it and did not come with the Reefmat 250. Cheers for the help!
Very nice - wondering if there is also room for a skimmer.
There’s easily enough room for a skimmer or a refugium, however fitting in both with the Reefmat might be tricky. Cam
Awesome. I just ordered a 1200.
Nice, that could be a CADE 1200 or the Reefmat 1200, either way you’re going to love it. Cam
Was getting worried😮 about Cam’s thumb and fingers when he tried to cut the hose with the Milwaukie .
I’ll lose the first finger to the Milwaukee on a job with Ryan where he’s mucking about and compromising my concentration for sure…cam
Hose clamp will be fine just use a 316 stainless steel one

Hi Kerry, we usually use normal clear PVC cement for pressure pipes from Bunnings. Cam
Great stuff how would this work on 1800 peninsula. Lose the socks?
I’m pretty sure it would be just as easy to install on the peninsula, you’d most likely need to lose at least one sock. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV the 1200 way too big with the gate valve in the way. I moved mat into refugee chamber and refugee after skimmer. Im happy.
I’d use a zip tie to keep the hose secure 🤷🏻♂️
That’s definitely what I’d normally use, but the hose clamp was handy. Cam
Hi, what's is the fittings call that connect to the m2 pump
We just call them the GA M2 barb kit. They should be available on our website. Cam
Hi Cam, what size Cade Frag was this tank ?
It’s the 1500F. Cam
😁🤘

This hose clamp will be well out of the water so I think it’ll be ok, but I definitely don’t ever use them if they’re likely to get wet. Cam
What size is CADE?
This one is the 1500 Frag, so it’s 1500 by 600 by 300 (tank space). Cam
Kuri-tec Ratchet clamp there plastic
Good call. Cam
I’ve always watched your videos but I won’t anymore due to your disrespect to your employees you call yourself Cam the fish guy and in one Cam the fish king but calling your staff shed boy is disrespectful
I’m sorry you feel that way. Ryan will tell you it’s just a bit of a joke and that there is no disrespect intended. Cam
Pull your head in Stuart.
