I feel like Sam could theoretically sing muchhh lower and much higher but relies heavily on vocal mix and doesn't use much chest resonance.. For me its bizarre that a Tenor would have so little "power" A4-C5. That technique of singing in a soft vocal mix and lack of pronunciation reminds me of Ariana Grande. The difference is Ariana seems to fully use her chest and headvoice when needed to give her a huge range and occasional power.
@@whoevr Yeah it's definitely strategic. It keeps the voice nice and high. The issue I have is singers becoming "locked" in that way of singing. A lot of mixy singers become glued in vocal mix and lose free access full chest and full headvoice. The voice becomes soft, floaty and just lacking in power. I have a love hate relationship with vocal mix, because I love range but I hate a lack of power behind the voice. Ari's an exception though, she has great lows and highs because she knows how to use full chest and full headvoice.
He sings like a lady for no reason. This ugly and noisy singing ( so popular nowadays ) doesn’t allow him to sing properly. I see many other guys to just do the same thing adding runs on top of runs and pretending “I am gosh , I am agile ; I think I am male coloratura soprano” …😮
They songs become a pain when you're a Mix chesty singer 😖. But I have to admit that the fact that they can have a balanced mix (although they have more of a heady lean) is amazing lol Not so common to see
i truly believe that sam smith is talented vocally, sure they don’t have a lot of range to work with, but their singing, imo, has a tasteful aura to it, and i rly wish that ppl would stop undermining them, mainly bc of their current music, and their body weight

well yeah it’s strategic, same with ari, before 2014 she would use a more chesty/balanced mix, then she tried to add more chest to it in 2017 again

I disagree with the pronunciation part since Ariana Grande has improved and knows how to but I get your point overall though lol
I love Sam's voice.
His mix technique is awesome

Nice video! I'm not that fond of his light and heady mixing approach but he has written some amazing songs!!

I love Sam's voice🎵💖🎶
Don't know if anyone can relate, but their voice almost has a timbre similar to that of a saxophone. It's so outstanding
Sam actually does an F5 in make it to me harmony on the last chorus
proper singer to pop music, despite his short tessitura(tenore corto)
I love you Adele 😻
Lol 😂
I loved the video
