I keep revisiting this one. And, outside of the incredible harmonies, I finally figured out why. It's the moment when James tells Sam that, when he first heard his music, that he knew he'd be listening to his voice for the rest of his life. What an amazing opportunity for a fan to tell that to an artist and for an artist to hear that from a true fan. Who wouldn't want that opportunity? It's exactly how I felt the first time my dad introduced me to both Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. Even though they both passed well before I was born, that was exactly how I felt. I can't imagine having the opportunity to say those words to either one of those gentlemen and to be able to thank them for what they've added to my life by virtue of their songs and their talents. The closest I will ever get to that is to pass that love along to the younger ones in my family. Which, of course, I've done my best to do. Just a nearly perfect moment that will keep me revisiting this video.

It’s used a lot on albums of artist who you wouldn’t think need it. It’s up to producer really vs the artist. Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill, Christina Aguilera have used it so it wouldn’t surprise me if his producer used it.

In an American culture where hyperbole has become the norm and outsized reactions for no discernible reason is commonplace, his utter joy at meeting those women is palpable and genuine. I've always come back for this Carpool Karaoke because of their harmonization. I remembered the time this video released and I watched it over and over again. I love Sam. I love the version of him in this video. It's definitely one of his best versions. He's still one of the best singer. I missed a chance to be in Sam concert in my country in 2023 December because I had a surgery and had to stay in hospital for almost a month. I gave away a ticket. 😢 So sad. I would love to see him singing live once or more if I have a chance.

I've always come back for this Carpool Karaoke because of their harmonization. I remembered the time this video released and I watched it over and over again. I love Sam. I love the version of him in this video. It's definitely one of his best versions. He's still one of the best singer.
I missed a chance to be in Sam concert in my country in 2023 December because I had a surgery and had to stay in hospital for almost a month. I gave away a ticket. 😢 So sad.
