- The Mopar craze has hit the shop hard. Carrington is elbow deep into the Dodge Demon rebuild. And, well, we keep having to buy more Dodge Hellcats to supply it parts. When you but a Dodge Demon that needs one of everything for a rebuild. Well, it takes a lot of Dodge Hellcats to replace all those parts.
This particular Dodge Hellcat was purchased on a very unique day for a great price. A great price that hinges on it actually running and driving. This Dodge Hellcat was purchased from insurance auction. You never know what you might get when buying a none running Dodge Hellcat from insurance auction. But, its time to find out!

@@agomp the front end of the card had structural damage besides all the suspension damage although it certainly be fixed it’s not really worth it and they are a auto salvage company they make more money by parting out the car than fixing it if it was an older car i would totally agree it should be repaired

These scrap life stories are so unique to you guys & I really like them. Same for the auction reviews. I can watch anyone build a car, but I think it's those 2 things that make you stand out. Been binging for a while now.

While this car definitely deserved a second chance, I definitely understand that you can't just rebuild every Hellcat you get from insurance auction. The good thing is, those parts will go to other Hellcats to hopefully get them rebuilt!

i would love to know the logistics behind how you decide to scrap a running car rather than repair it and sell it. i assume it's mostly because it just makes more money parting it out?

I'm confused, I've seen you guys fix cars in far worse shape than this. This seems like a fairly each fix and yet you scrapped it. I get the value in parts is likely better but this seems like quick cash in a fixed car. Can you explain the reason why you went this route?

@@seropserop there is but at the expense of holding inventory. Often it is worth taking less money but have a quick turn around which was what my question was about.

You are wrong my friend you can go from four-piston to 6-piston they both ride on the only difference is you need a new brake line the only time you need to change the hub is if you go the dual piston to a 4 or 6 then you have to change the hub knuckles etc but going from 4 to 6 it's a direct bolt on all you change the brake lines and I have that number for anybody needs it

how come you guys add on the shipping costs? dont your customers pay these charges? or do you do free shipping on your parts?
10% is so light on fees. eBay charges about 14% which doesn't including shipping ect.

They go to the scrapyard to be ground up and recycled.

Suspension costs a lot to replace (crashed my mustang) If they have to wait weeks, months for parts to ship in and then spend time laboring to fix it it would be a huge time and money sink.

Would you guys be interested in a 1993 camaro with a lot of aftermarket performance parts? The body is straight no accidents, Moser rear with 4.10 rear, 6 speed is leaking from the slave cylinder, borg Warner 6 speed, motor is healthy, many performance. Suspension mods. 18 inch wheels ,willwood brake system, 6 piston front ,4 piston rears.
I can tell you that these guys wouldn’t be interested because, unless you sell it to them at an amount that they can at least double their money, they don’t have my interest in that generation of Camaro. Besides, they’re in the scrap business. The only assign so much value to aftermarket parts, especially old ones… and 93-97 Camaro Z28s can be bought for about $5k in really good shape.

He got the pricing wrong, he deducted auction fees as a 10% fee off the theoretical parts sales price of 4k when it should have been 1.7k
They are going to make double the price when they sell it parts only.

Yeah but but how do you make your money that stuff sits on eBay probably for months how are you able to keep rolling buying etc I get RUclips provides a big chunk but
You don't see it all, but they seem to be a major source of second hand C6 and C7 Corvette parts. So while a lot might sit they have a constantly rotating stock. The RUclips aspect just helps them cover their side projects like the Demon resurrection or Viper engine swap.

I would NEVER buy a used Hellcat because you know whom ever had it drove the piss out of it and gave those cylinders pure hell. I would have to pull the motor and completely rebuild and bore the block just so I could sleep knowing that engine is good to go. Also there's thousands of people that have absolutely no clue on how to properly break an engine in
