    Just amazing! My hubby found a baby starling in the road and he brought it home to me. I'm very experienced raising baby parrots but i must say, the care is much different for starlings! Baby is doing very well. While doing my research, I'm simply amazed at what these birds can do! They are much more special than i ever would've thought. I look forward to raising my new baby!

      congradulations on your success with your wounded baby!!! I love birds group in florida, wild parakeets the colors lined up on the telephone wire, waiting for the sun to rise, to start their gossiping, people use to complain about them they were my trustee alarm clock, they woke me exactly what I needed to get up for work, plus I fell in love with the Scarlett spoonbill, the great blue heron, in my favor to pelican,
      I was a volunteer at the grand opening of Suncoast seabird sanctuary, we spent a lot of time on tangling Pelican bills they would buy the fishing lure, are actually grabbed the fish that had a hook in it somebody was really in, on the catwalk of the bridge there's nothing you can do but the line, which ends up tango wayne and closing their mouth shut in a dive starvation, we would catch in a fishing castnet while perched on the seawall are someplace safe so when they fall they don't get injured further, clip of the barb from the untangle, hey volunteer vetnarian had this goop, we would shoot down there throat with the turkey baster, then put them in a large pin, feed them sardines 6 * a day, then we would release, but they are very grateful, most fly off into a huge ark, and land right back on the sea wall behind the center.we had to stop giving them handouts, because the more we saves the more permanent craving tenants, we got, tried not to name them but its hard not to, we watch rescue day. White albino, people don't realize how beautiful the brown pelican is, the feathers in the down are just so soft and beautiful, that was many many years ago, but I still feel proud, that I was able to help a few they are so much a part of the ecosystem in Florida, and when tourests come, they expect to see pelicans, I'm sure that help that we did 8 when I was there that we all helps to increase the population, we know for a fact that we rescued some females, that were ready to nest down,
      well that's right found my love for birds, then as a commercial fisherman this seagulls in honduras almost ruined it for me they're actually, cannibals sea buzzards, as I matured I realize there also part of the eco system, the all of the dead disease fish floating on top of the water,
      send a poop down your back and tell you it's raining? Huh? hahaha I know commercial fisherman's joke, I'm sorry my name is steve, I am a big animal lover, I had a very exciting day yesterday and haven't been able to sleep all night, I just wanted to congratulate you and thank you for being the kind of person who cares, tell me if you like are you going to keep her or release her? I have the feeling you're going to keep this bird, and oh what a jackpot she hit, cuz you're one of the good people of Mother Nature, and I say thank you for saving this beautiful Starling.you're a good person, may you be blessed, your husband to for being tolerant, I maybe he loves it too that would be excellent I have this feeling you're a great couple! I wish smiles rain on you all day! Bye & T.Y. "gator" Steve, against my better judgement living in chicago, talk about culture shock, I've seen three quarters of the world, chicago was the biggest culture shock, every night you hear gunshots, city games have created a street war, I stay inside after dark, my party night live days are over, hugz 4 the humble, even though I'm a 35 year biker I have a heart :-)

      Here's how I learned about the magic of starlings (Story starts out sad, but gets better.) I stopped to buy something from an Amish neighbor some years ago. There were two dead birds lying, spooning -fashion) next to the driveway. I asked what happened. He said, "I shot them." I was crushed, but soon learned that farmers do not like starlings, generally, at all! The next spring I found two babies in the grass outside a building. I took them home, found a website on the internet called Starling Talk, and successfully raised them. I named them Hershey and Feather. The Hershey name is short for the last name of that Amish farmer. Feather was short for Featherbrain, because they have the most comical tufts of whispy feathers on the top of their heads when they are babies. Feather passed away recently, but Hershey is fifteen years old now, and still going strong. Hershey gets along fine with my gold-crowned conure, even when they are both loose in the room together.

      I'm surprised a Starling can live that long.
      I've observed they can also fly just like a Hummingbird.
      They unfortunately are almost as much a farm pest as Sparrows.
      Apparently a big flock can eat I forgot how many 100s of pounds of animal feed so it's costly to the farm like a stray dog raiding your fridge every day.
      They overtook the natural habitat of the Bluebird years ago.

Now she is past her three weeks going to a month with us and fully grey brown feathered and flying. I don't think I can release her cause she doesn't fear people at all or dogs. I'm looking forward to her being part of our family for many years to come.

      @@ghostomelon Have you ever watched the horror film MIMIC??? That's a really scary film. Starlings can cause a lot of damage. There are some videos on social media of people doing bird voices as well. You could talk to Sir David Attenborough of Chris Packham. He is on TV called Nature watch. Have you watched videos of parrots swearing to their owners?? Where in the world are you from?? Bet you don't know that birds are descended from Dinosaurs like the teracdactil

    • @ghostomelon
      @ghostomelon 4 года назад +2

      @@ianmacleod2639 I don't know what you are trying to say, but I clearly have a parrot. It's in my profile picture. And I have two starlings, one of which can speak. I know from personal experience that these birds can talk and both are capable of damage, although I'd say the parrot is more destructive naturally.
      And yes, birds are descended from avian dinosaurs. What you didn't realize is that pterodactyl was not a dinosaur, but a flying reptile. Get your facts straight.
